Still waiting for you to tell us your issue with divisional teams? I have contributed a lot on this topic on the various threads over the years and particularly over the past 2 months. I have stated my views clearly and i am not going to bore everyone to death repeating it again. You either didnt read my posts which is fine or didnt understand the points i made which is also fine. I will repeat very briefly.... The divisional structure is a force for good generally speaking but i believe the county board should have a mechanism to prevent an imbalance as it clearly happening at the moment ...one divisional has 12 Celtic Cross holders and 4 All Stars. If however you are happy out with the current position...thats great. Again I fail to see the the issue is? The Crokes team of the last decade would have had 10 or so All-Ireland winners. Did you have an issue with that? Ghaeltacht in the 2000s had 4/5 members of the Kerry senior panel on top of ex minor and U21 players did you have a problem with that? You and others, for some unknown reason, have an issue with East kerry in particular at the moment because they're successful. Had they lost to either Dingle or Kenmare would you have been this upset?

I believe it would be better for Kerry football in the long run in clubs won the county championship more. I would have loved to have seen Legion win that one v SK. I would have loved to have seen Dingle win it this year. Far better for propogating the game for Dingle to have won it this year than for another one for EK. And while i am at it, it would have been a well deserved swansong for Paul Geaney to captain Kerry. He would have definately given it one more year. I also believe that Crokes should not have been allowed take in players from outside when they were winning county championships. There should be a rule against that. I have said that previously. The county championship should be a great competition. The county board should be proactive in ensuring that it is so. I am sure you have seen the joy at the end of the county hurling final.... will it be the next decade before we see that again af the end of a county football final.

As someone whose knowledge of the great game can be encompassed by the size of a stamp can I ask the knowledgeable folk on here one question arising from yesterday - why does a team in a final just not go for it. Mid Kerry being the latest example. I was just so disappointed by the lack of ambition, the lateral passing, the possession zero endgame etc.
Christ Feale would have given EK a better game yesterday. Pity Dingle and EK weren't kept apart to the final.
Sitting at the game I was grumbling about having to hand over 20 euros for it but as the match went on and the brilliance of David grew more luminous you just had to say for yourself isn't this a day I'll be recalling as an old man in some pub in the decades to come. The day D.C scored 1-9, including one while he was taking a tumble.
A privilege to witness this extra-terrestrial on earth, for surely he exists on another footballing planet to anyone else that was on that pitch yesterday!

in an ideal world, an EK team wins Intermediate this year....would Fossa have any chance of winning it next year, assuming they win the Premier Junior this year?
that would be the start of weaking them anyway. Maybe Brendans having Stacks can help a new challenger come in next year, if Stacks lads take it seriously.
definately need to look at 1 or 2 EK teams going into MK or SK also.

People were phoning in to Terrace Talk last evening complaining about the E20 admission fee for the Kerry football showpiece. I have never phoned a radio station but I was tempted to make my debut and suggest that it was shortsighted of the County Board not to add a surcharge for the privilege of seeing a certain gladiator at work!
Reading the post match comments here I was mystified that predominantly they concerned the county championship structure rather than exulting in an individual performance that has rarely been equalled and very likely never surpassed in Austin Stack Park.
There is a time for discussing such matters as the county championship setup but Sunday evening was a time for romance and dreams and celebration. It is not every day that an athlete comes along purely, it seems , for the delectation of the Everyman. Enjoy , we will be sprouting daisies long enough.

Veteran, I have to disagree with you, I posted few pages back and quoted the 89 final day as an example.. three games in fitzgeralds stadium... Laune Rangers, Mitchels, Kenmare, Spa, Gneevguille and Kenmare all lined out that day. I fail to see the reluctance of the County Board to schedule a curtain raiser. Why couldn't it be set that the day holds both the finalists and the relegation playoff on the same billing Taking DC out, it wasn't much value for the score handed in over the stile. Flat, passionless and relatively emotion free... even the speech was monotone. If you had two club sides fighting for their survival, well maybe it may give an added injection to the occasion. You'll have to admit, taking out DC and it wasn't value for money... you'll see more pride next weekend in Bally or Duagh in a NK Quarter for half the price.

Again, the answers to those questions are in my post.....at this stage i think that you you dont read posts closely at all. Winning a county championship is a massive boost and helps grow the game at grassroots level.... the wheel will turn obviously but it will help get kids involved at a young age. I said clubs like Crokes who are winning county championships should not be allowed take it lads from outside. Legion hadnt won one. The manager of EK was saying in the paper yesterday that the worst part of his job was in August when he had to ring lads to tell them that they would not be involved this year. I expect that the lads he rang were lads with no celtic crosses and probably young players.... how does that help with finding players to play for Kerry....there must have been dozens of lads who couldnt get a chance to shine.

€25 in Clare last weekend for their county finals!
the lack of curtain raiser for sure is a bad idea, wonder is it to save the pitch? they need to fit something in there anyway next year, playing the senior club final was ideal and would have added 1000+ to the gate perhaps.

In fairness to auld Vet horse, DC alone was worth the gate money - if you took him out of it you could then have another (one man, gladiatoir; gladiatór) show and have a full house at €100 a skull. BTW this cloud re districts vs Clubs has a silver lining in NK, well for moi anyway - I have fond memories of Shannon Rangers in the Blue and White of Bally', it may have to do with my late father hailing from the Bally' side of Ballydonoghgue - there never seemed to be an issue playing in the neighbour's colours; that day Ogie debuted in ASP crowns the lot, a prince for sure, I can still se him floating around the place and me only a 'nadger, didn't know even was it was all about let alone understand - how could I - was he still a minor? Many a garsún had that privilege last Sunday and long may it continue. Ballyfireside Quote of The Day - That life doesn't always change for the better makes memories more valuable.P.S. This one needs polish, waxing!

Fossa will do well to win the Junior Premier this year. They were beaten by Listry in the group stage. It would be hard to see Fossa competing at intermediate level based on their performances in the O'Donoghue cup over the last seasons. They would be well off the level of the likes of Beaufort, Gaeltacht and the 5 East Kerry clubs playing intermediate this year

How did it come to pass that Beaufort are Mid-Kerry and Listry aren't. Possibly the same reason that Currow are in East Kerry for O'Donoghue Cup purposes but not part of the Divisional team.

I will ask you a straight question...which is more important for a divisional side...picking ex county players or young up and coming young players.... the rationale for divisions would seem to be the latter.... do you agree or disagree

What does a fella who joins a club from another county do if that club wins the championship? Or a fella who falls out, for whatever reason, with his home club? Where does he fit into your master plan? Divisional teams like any team will feild their strongest team regardless of what it is.

The irony is he talks about things being done for Kerrys benefits and that's the exact reason Shane Murphy transferred.
