Mid Kerry was part of East Kerry originally but broke away in the 30s or 40s. I assume Listry just stayed with East kerry. Mid Kerry formed in 1947 I believe - and was a breakout from the older East Kerry district. Fossa is another club that could be in East or Mid based on geographical location. Is not the Listry club younger than that?

Fossa in it's current form at least started in the 70s I think.

In 1941 listry at the request of the EK board fielded 2 teams in the championship that year. Still the only club to do so..

The thought occurred to me reading various threads that there are an awful lot of good footballers who will never get a chance of winning an AI final because their county is a mile off the pace - akin to junior club sides. Imagine the consternation if the recent review of the senior championship had said only 8 counties plus 8 amalgamations of the other 24 counties (with no limits) would contest future Sam Maguire championships to give those unfortunate players a chance of playing on the big stage and competing for AI glory. Strange world we live in - and before anybody tears into my comment think it through. Can you imagine how sore we would feel if Connacht had beaten Kerry in the 2022 final especially if the rationale for the provincial side was to give lads from Leitrim and Sligo and Roscommon a chance to play in an All Ireland final....... but the team was made up entirely from Galway and Mayo. Although it would have been nice to see Lee Keegan get a medal i suppose!

The GAA top brass are going over the top on the implementation of the 16 team limit. Cork have 12 senior clubs in 3 groups of 4. The top 2 go on to the knockout stage. 10 divisional/colleges playoff in a separate section, with one divisional/college team joining the 6 senior clubs in the knockout stage. It has no impact on scheduling. Counties with divisional clubs must be given some leeway, with an agreement that the championships are concluded within a certain number of weeks.

Clonmel Commercials looked awesome today in their dismantling of Nemo. All their big names stood out plus young Sean O’Connor. Nemo’s goal in the last minute gave the scoreline a false reflection on the true gulf between the teams. Kerry’s Kieran O’Sullivan was substituted at half time.
Kerins O’Rahillys will need to be at their very best if their paths do meet.

The Kennedy brothers were unreal, there only failing as a unit was they took the ball into traffic repeatedly but once they sit down and eradicate that, they will be hard to beat. They are big, very big physical side. Well drilled.

that Eire Og team is very highly rated this year, lets see if they fulfil that.
just checked the betting odds there, Rahillys are 2nd favs for Munster on 13/8 and 6th favourites for AI at 16/1
clonmel favs for Munster and ahead of Rahilly at 11/1 for AI.
