could be wrong, but i am pretty sure Sean Walsh has been a selector before for various kerry teams before he was chairman.

Seamus has been involved with the East Kerry u21s for years and was also manager of Fossa. Brian hasn’t as he’s been playing club football up until this year. Then what’s your reasoning for bryan sheehan being a “very good choice”? Fair point he has no experience. I just meant I thought it was positive getting him involved as I’ve heard him on the examiner podcasts and he seems to have a good football brain. There are some ex players who from knowing their character, play style etc. that you would expect to be good as managers/selectors/coaches but obviously it’s far from a sure thing.

Yes he had a stint with Paidi I'm sure, my recollection of the events could be sketchy, did he replace Tom O'Connor on Paidi's late 90's ticket. I.envisage though Walsh is in situ primarily for admin and logistics first and foremost, secondly then the actual football aspect. He is highly respected within the Gaa family, highly Knowledgeable on the game. I think too the inclusion of a learned individual of his vintage adds balance to the set up. His years of experience in this regard could prove invaluable going forward

New management team to be announced shortly with Tomás O’Sé as bainisteoir, Seamus Moynihan, Bryan Sheehan & Seán Walsh ( Moyvane) as selectors. So we have a manager and selectors. Who is going to be the coach? Surely thats the key job. The attempt v Tyrone this year when Kerry repeatedly took the ball into traffic, lost it and conceded score after score was pitiful and down to poor coaching and tactics.

Maurice Horan rumoured to be the coach. What teams has Maurice Horan coached? A Mayoman coaching a Kerry football team and a Kerryman coaching a Mayo football team! They could swap notes off the motorway somewhere around Ennis

Maurice Horan rumoured to be the coach. What teams has Maurice Horan coached? Adare in Limerick & was involved with Kerins O’Rahillys for a few years - was Laois coach when Micheál Quirke was bainisteoir; did video analysis for Mayo when Stephen Rochford was in charge - top class guy.

Are many of next year U20s playing for their clubs adult team Ya all are bar maybe one or two but that could be due to injury. Nearly all are starters and many are key players for their clubs.

It's an impressive line up with regards to being household names and in the case of Tomas, Seamus and Bryan you won't find 3 better players or servants to Kerry Football. Sean Walsh is an extremely able dealer, knows the runnings of the GAA inside out. If you were being picky you'd say none of the lads have a coaching CV that would stand up but I guess you have to start somewhere. This age group is proving very tricky for us, not sure why.

this is the minor team that played in first covid final isnt it, beaten by a late penalty goal by Derry to lose by 1 point if i remember correctly.
they wont be far off surely. its about time we won one of these and hopefully get 3 or 4 seniors out of the team.
any predictions who those 3 or 4 could be?

Out of the Un21's from last year is anybody good enough to make the step up to seniors for next year? Even if training for the year for experience.

There me no 20’s in the match day senior squad, maybe on extended panel, the step up is huge, takes time to allow conditioning to meet inter senior county standards.

Devon Burns named Munster u20 player of the year. Well done to the young lad hopefully we’ll be seeing himself and a few more from this years u20 team continue to wear the green and gold in years to come. I was at the Tyrone semi final I thought this Kerry team were unlucky not to make the final but it wasn’t the best brand of football I’ve seen from a Kerry team either this year. Onwards and upwards we go though. All in all a good year for Kerry football.
