both sides are capable of being Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde.
kerry have looked lethargic at times this year, lacking ideas going forward and guilty of poor ball going into the FF line. but kerry also cruised to a league title and looked to have turned the corner against dublin.
cork have looked impressive this year, winning a Division 2 title, looked very good against kerry(replay), tyrone and donegal. but very poor against limerick.
cork have yet to overcome kerry in Croker, and this is surely the time for them to put that right. counihan is shrewd and they have definitely come on an awful lot this year.
so all the analysis in the world won't really tell us how the match will go as we don't know which versions of each team will turn up. time will tell i guess.
kerry could be outstanding, yet they could fall into bad habits. cork could be powerful, yet the same old Croker failings against kerry could resurface.
team to start?
D. Murphy
M. O'Sé T. Griffin T. O'Sullivan
T. O'Sé M. Mc Carthy K. Young
D. O'Sé S. Scanlon
P. Galvin Dec. O'Sullivan T. Kennelly
C. Cooper K. Donaghy D. O'Sullivan
after that it could be a good start, a lucky break or god knows what to decide this one. too close to call, too many permutations.

Lost a lot of respect for Meath fans today the abuse of gooch was shocking in the Cusack lower. Anyways what a team what a year. To end up in the final is a credit to that bunch of players. Amazing achievment. Thought the underfoot conditions were terrible, having the concerts there was a joke. Scanlon man of the match for me got through Trojan amount of work. Bring on the rebels!

Fair play to tommy took being dropped like a man and came on and proved he's top class. Can't see kieran starting as per earlier post, little over 40 mins played All year.

Three weeks in Killarney in Septemeber under the lenghtening shadows of St.Finians and the orange street lights lighting longer with every passing evening. Alleluia.
A winter of contentment dances tantalizingly on the horizon.
Corks as favourits, its theirs to win.Just after listening to Micko with Jimmy McGee,jaysas you'd eat nails and drink glass.

Micko building up a very good team Cork and then going on to say that this is also a very good experienced kerry team. Its the way Micko speaks, the accent in his voice when he's stirring the drum roll. Its not always what he says but its the song in his voice when he's speaking from the heart as his vocal cords carresses his footballing soul. It was vintage Micko, you could almost imagine him speaking to a carraige of young footballers as the train was pulling into Hueston station in '75 on all-ireland football final eve. His voice this evening was unmistakably kerry can't let Cork beat them, same as paidi pulling the green and gold over his shoulders on Munster final day v Cork, playing Cork, beating Cork.

Lots of pundits calling it for Cork already - which is fair enough and suits Kerry fine. If you go on the form shown all year by both sides it is understandable.
Liam Hayes has already predicted our complete destruction by Cork in the All Ireland Final in his article prior to today’s semi-final in the Tribune - we wouldn't have it any other way from Liam - thanks very much.

Always believed tha this ff line of Cork can be markked.
Tyrone let me down badly...but on the day Tyrone were bad and Cork probably played as they can if they are let.
The Kerry full back line are probably the best around, judging on the last few performances.
Can Kerry stop Cork as a 15 and as a team??? That for me is the first ceist.
But we come into this final as a toally remoulded team compared to our Munster efforts..
If from a neutral point of view I was asked where would I like to be??? Cork or Kerry camp???
Kerry all day long,,,
As I said if the Kerry full back line maintain their form then we can win this final.
Next post will be when I get back from Dublin...
15 to beat Cork
Murphy
M o Sé T Griffin Tom Sullivan Tom O Sé M Mc Carthy A O Mahony D O Sé S Scanlon P Galvin T Kennelly T Walsh C Cooper D O Sullivan D O Sullivan
Take a look at our bench ...its the first time ever that we have 4 or five on the bench that can make a serious impact...
We have a few gears to move up compared to todays performance...Over to the management now to get us there hopping...
I think Paddy Kelly needs to be marked so AOM for me at No 7
We could end up with a final similar to todays efforts ...dont think Conor Counuhan will fancy taking us on man for man..he must know his ff line can be mastered.
Cannot wait...win or lose this team has shown us a decade of pure magic..Thanks guys will never forget ye.

I think Paddy Kelly needs to be marked so AOM for me at No 7 That would mean Tomas on Kerrigan. He will get burned for pace. I think we need Killian on Kerrigan and put Tomas on Kelly. Let Tomas drive forward and keep Kelly on the back foot.

Ya fair point but Kerrigan can burn most corner backs but wouldnt fancy him as a confident score taker.
I know he looks good to date but I think Tomás is quiet capable.Especially with Marc behind him.

Really don't think Aidan would have the stamina for Kelly. I know Canty got MOM last week but he was MOM for a lot of people. Think Donnacha O Connor might be the easier of the Cork FF line to mark. Goulding and O Neill are harder to mark. Although somebody at the match last week said when Cork were reduced to 14 they moved Donnacha out to the 40 and he was everywhere. Seems TV did not do his performance justice. Cork have a good bench too.I would be looking to the likes of Tadgh to keep Canty busy. Tyrone could not cope with him.Feel Declan will hardly be as poor again and Dara should improve. Thought he looked fitter today but did not play well. Nicholas Murphy has played really well for Cork in last 2 matches. The other thing is that the pace of the match last week was way higher than todays match. That will suit players like Tadgh and Darren but others might struggle.

From what I saw today i feel it is unlikely that O Mahony will start. Looks a pale shadow of the great man

I think Declan needs to start at centre half forward. He was in-effective at full forward both days in June against Cork. Our dominant spells in both games came after we moved Declan to no. 11 and he ran at their defence.
Only problem with this is that it means moving Tadgh who played well today. Tommy should start. Who loses out - Darren or Donnacha? The one that starts will be captain.

I have given some taught to the cork game and trying to imagine individual match ups that will suit us. id be very surprised if tomas was on kerrigan. i think i would detail killian for him and turn him the other way by driving forward. kerry will probably have to sit scanlon very deep to counteract o neill who i think mike mac should pick up. at the other end i feel we should try and get darren on canty and run at him. i think there are scores to be had there. im not sure of the starting line up i would go with yet but in fairness to aidan i think against cork he would be lucky to be considered even for a replacement role. im still not sure if id start tommy. it will all depend on how donaghy is going in training. it would be a shame to bring him off the bench and see him struggle and waste a sub. id rather start him if he is going well and go from there. id also like to see declan stay inside and rotate with tadgh

Kerry are in a good position against cork going into final. I know kerry were a little off the pace yesterday but we are in an all ireland final again. We are going in as underdogs which will suit us, Cork are not as good as paople say, Cork have a psychological thing with kerry in croke park,I watched the game last nite when i got home from Dublin as i got it taped and the sunday game panelists put it well in saying kerry are in a great position going into final..
Match ups for final...
Marc on O Connor Tommy G on Goulding Tomm Sull on Colm O Neill (Corks most dangerous forward IMHO) Killian on Kerrigan Mike Mac on O Neill Tomas on Kelly
Im not sure what forward will start the next day which is a good thing because if we dinr know then it will keep Counihan and co guessing too... but i would leave Tadhg on canty. Tadhg would be able to match him in running and physicality..

A more ignorant crowd I have never come across. I wasn't there in 2001 so couldn't fully appreciate til yesterday just how bad they were. It's a sad day when a fan (Meath of course) has to insult a middle aged woman as he leaves the game as he couldn't get the better of any of the boys sitting there in front of him. Rude, arrogant, thick and ignorant. Meath fans are by far the worst bunch I have ever witnessed and I've met a lot of so and so's.

I think Jack was trying to pull a fast one lads. No Tommy or Star and we start lobbing high balls into Dec Sull?
C Counihan was in the ground, some of what was on display you feel was distinctly for his benefit.
Perfect result for us in that we will be resolute underdogs. Its Corks to lose - we have 3 weeks to take it to another level. Do Cork have another gear to go up?

Anyone remember that famous Paul galvin quote about how losing to Cork would have devalued the other titles kerry had won. What was it again?

The forward line up is a hard one to call. Agree Tadgh for Canty but not sure if Tommy Walsh at number 12 . Declan does not have a good record on Miskella. Declan at full forward does not seem to work either.
