tom o connor took the penalty alrite, this was his 1st game with Keirans in a while and i think he was only drafted in the last week or so for taking frees as Tom McGoldrick was missing.
Keirans should have won handy and prob would but for some awful displays by their so called better players.

I big surprise alright that Mid Kerry beat them. On paper Keirans would have been much stronger but that never counts for anything. Amazing reading the paper today that Darby Buckley stared before John Brennan? Also Seamus Flynn didn't start?? Anyway they know best I suppose. Crokes and South must be favs for it now. They seemed to win handy? Brendans are now the dark horses but While tehy will give most a game I think they would fall short against either of the two aformentioned. If South Drew Crokes next though it would open up the whole thing on one side of the draw for some team to make a county final??

In relation to ASABU, its about time questions were asked about Denny Long in control, from what i can see they dont a clue, they had the option of hiring liam kearns at the start of the year, maybe they should have done that. Brendans tacticians didnt just win the game on the sideline they really had no competition. They pulled a masterstroke in pulling out martin ferris but i must disagree with steel fixer, star was after winnin three kickouts in a row as well as the hop ball which led to his sending off. It was The inaction by stacks to change griffin and dalys markers which cost them the game. Long had to be told by daniel bohan to make one of the changes.
As regards Austin Stack Park's "Fight Club", i felt the ref could have allowed Rathmore a little bit more time to chase that ellusive equaliser. He also bottled it after Timmy sullivan caught Tom Sullivan high, which led to the first of many outbursts

I could imagine allright that he would be looking for good money considering how he moved Limerick on. However i doubt if Feale Rangers were giving he much and that must have been a soul destroying job. What odds on Ger Power and/or Johno training the Stacks next year?

I wasn't at the south kerry game last wkend but made me laugh the way some people on this web site go on about north kerry football sayin how its da best in the county blah blah blah! Well ifs the best players are on show for feale and shannon rangers it doesn't say much about it in my oponion.

Ky 50 the club players in NK dont give a toss about the co chship.
for example all the ballyduff boys pulled out of the shannon rangers set up cos they didnt get the number of players on the chship team that they wanted.
throw in the fact that all beale players sit together in the dressingroom before a chship game, same with tarbert, ballyduff etc.u get the picture.
id imagine their is a bit more harmony & unity in the south ky camp

Crokes V Milltown or Legion........You have to say Crokes Sth Kerry V East Kerry or Laune Rangers South Kerry Mid Kerry V Gaeltacht/ Dingle Reclutantly Gaeltacht Strand Road V Brendans.........There will be fireworks here and hard to call a winner!

Only the Brendans strand road game is going ahead the week after the Munster Final. It would be unfair on teams if the competition drags on till winter.

It is still looking very much like a Crokes v South Kerry Final as i can't see either team having much trouble with their q-final. Very mediocre games although i do agree there will be fun at the KOR V Brendans game! A couple of years ago half the KOR team was made up of ex- Brendans players!

There is a fair bit of animosity and grudges between teh players in South Kerry too. They have managed to pull it together in teh past couple of years but its not like they are all rosy and best friends. Did you ever stop to think they may be just better players.

Of course south kerry have better players but the gap between North kerry and south kerry isnt as big as the score line reflects. I for one feel that the team south kerry had out was by and large the best 15 in south kerry however the i cant say the same for feale rangers......the interest just isnt there........5 or 6 turning up for training reflects the interest level.

They were down for July 15/16 but with replays only the Rahillys/Brendans game is likely to go ahead that weekend. I'll go for the same as stacks with the exeption of Rahillys who I think will burst Brendans bubble.

Its strange how minors are not allowed play at U21 grade but I see a few of them turned out for their senior teams in the county championship last weekend. Now I agree that they shouldn't play U21, but surely that should mean they should be ineleigible for the senior teams too.

The reason they cant play U'21 is that too many teams were looking for postponements due to their minors still being involved in the inter county team. The way the senior c'ship is structured (fixtures wise) this excuse cant be used.

Inforthebreaks you are right. Last year for example Kieran O'Leary and Mike Moloney played in the county senior final for Crokes yet were not eligible to play in the County under 21 Championship as they were minors??!! They are just one example. Tommy Walsh is in the same boat for strand road and I am sure there are more. They are eligible to play senior though. Technically a club team could put out a full minor team in the county senior championship but not play any of those players in the U21 championship!

minors have too many games as it is aleady, especially if they are from a divisional team.

Interesting draw ! The only fixture that seems clear cut is the one involving Crokes and the winners of Legion and Miltown ! All the others could go either way, although South Kerry would be well fancied to emerge in their tie ! Anyone of Mid Kerry, Ghaeltacht and Dingle could make it to the semi's, but I would give a hesitant vote to Ghaeltacht, even though Mid Kerry will be very dangerous from here on in !
The final match between Strand Road and Brendans has to be the tie of the round ! The way the Brendans look at it its a dream draw, while Strand Road would see it as a fairly soft draw for them when you look at other teams in the hat ! There will be loads of hype surrounding this game ! As an earlier post pointed out there is a lot of ex- Brendans players in the Strand Road set up and when you consider that Wallace transfered to Strand Road for a few years, there could be plenty of needle in this game ! With the momentum behind them, and the fact that their forwards have the beating of the Strand Road backs, I will give the Brendans the nod ! The game is definetly going ahead on the weekend of the 15 and 16th of July !
On a sad note, Seamus Griffin from Churchill, one of the Brendans all time greats died yesterday after an illness ! He captained Brendans in their first County final apperance in 1957 ! A talented athlete and boxer he won All Ireland minor and junior medals with Kerry ! RIP !

I think the surprise package so far has to be St. Brendans, although Stacks have been poor this year. I think that South Kerry should do the three in a row though. However there are a number of minnows who could come out of nowhere including Brendans or even Dingle or An Daingean or whatever you they call themselves....

I'd imagine it depends on the result. If it is a draw then the replay is on the following weekend potentially because the forth round match with the losers in it has to take place before the August bank holiday weekend, which is when the Munster / Ulster quarter finals are scheduled to take place.
If Kerry lose and go into the forth round qualifier draw, we could be looking at a while before county championship matches take place, certainly into August anyway.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I suspect that bar the replays, I can't see the championship cranking back up until Kerry finish up. If we go all the way, the All Ireland is on a week earlier, but the quarter finals are at the same time, meaning there will be a week less to the semis so there will be no time to give the squad the space they are allowed under county board rules and have a round of championship games.

The Legion V Miltown replay was fixed for this Saturday night ! Is this still going ahead ? I see no mention of it on the Website Fixtures !
I heard that the County Board are thinking of playing the Strand Road V Brendans game midweek ! The rational for this, I just do not know ! Neither side has a player on the Kerry panel and after the poor attendance for the Strand Road and Rathmore game, you would think they learned their lesson ! It would also prevent supporters based outside the county travelling ! I even know of one fella in London who's going to come back for this game !
