Tommybigboots, yeah was at the match, sem were outstanding but Flannans didn't exactly cover themselves in glory, all the usual suspects Courtney etc. were outstanding, very impressed with with Niall Donoghue and Evan Cronin, wouldn't be making any changes, expected more from Adam O'Shea though.

Having breezed through the group stages boasting an average winning margin of 14 points, the Killarney students then dethroned back-to-back Hogan Cup champions Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne by 13 points in last month’s quarter-final. And then came this result in Rathkeale against St Flannan’s on Saturday.
It means they’ll start as raging hot favourites against High School Clonmel on February 27, but manager McGrath is confident feet will be kept firmly on the ground.
“These are a good bunch of lads. They were hurting last year after being beaten by Rochestown in the semi-final. The younger fellas, they were beaten in the All-Ireland U16 and a half final.
“We haven’t won much so that’ll keep the minds focused,” said McGrath. “
Opting to start with an extremely strong wind, the Sem were relentless in their assault on the St Flannan’s goal. Mikey Casey (0-2), Billy Courtney, Evan Cronin and excellent midfielder Lee O’Donoghue (0-2) carved out a six point advantage by the 13th minute before full-forward David Shaw fielded a long delivery from O’Donoghue before burying past sub goalkeeper Tom O’Brien on 15 minutes. O’Brien, one of three first-half substitutions made by the Ennis College, was introduced for Eoin Campbell on 11 minutes in bid to sort out their kick-out woes as St Flannan’s struggled to carry possession into the opposition half.
Darragh Duggan (free) kicked their opener after 26 minutes, (1-8 to 0-1) and it was game over in first-half stoppages as Mikey Casey netted goal number two, a score which manifested itself from a turnover at the other end of the field - 2-9 to 0-1 the interval difference. The second-half was a pretty mundane affair with St Brendan’s content to sit on their lead.
Lee O’Donoghue kicked a further three points to bring his tally to 0-6, David Shaw also swelling his personal tally with two white flags to add to his first-half goal.
Scorers for St Brendan’s:
L O’Donoghue (0-6, 0-4 frees); D Shaw, M Casey (1-2 each); N Donoghue, B Courtney, E Cronin, P McCarthy (0-1 each).
Scorers for St Flannan’s:
D Duggan (0-2 frees), C Lynch (0-2 each); E O’Connor (0-1).
ST BRENDAN’S:
D Carroll (Spa); M Potts (Dr Crokes), C O’Donoghue (Glenflesk), C Gammell (Legion); D Naughton (Dr Crokes), D O’Brien (Glenflesk), N Donoghue (Firies); L O’Donoghue (Glenflesk), B Courtney (Dr Crokes); D Moynihan (Spa), A O’Shea (Dr Crokes), P McCarthy (Legion); E Cronin (Spa), D Shaw (Dr Crokes), M Casey (Dr Crokes).

Is there any venue for the final yet? I presume Mallow will be a serious possibility given the two teams involved. Haven't heard anything yet though.

The Sems bench is strong that could be the difference.

Call it all now lads, who's going to win? And who's going to be the stand out Performers? For me St.Brendans by 2-5 points with Mike Potts, Daniel O'Brien, Lee O'Donoghue and Dara Moynihan going to lead the way for the Sem boys! Best of luck to St.Brendans would be great to see them become one of the most feared footballing school in the country again.

I expect them to win by 3 or 4 points. Strong panel. Their bench to be the difference.

Having seen the Tralee CBS-Clonmel game, I would have to fancy the Sem, Clonmel didn't impress that day but did overcome Rochestown twice to be fair to them. The Sem to win by 6. Best of luck to all involved

This is a very strong Sem team with plenty of options on the bench. Sem to win by 6, best of luck to them.

I find it extremely amusing at how one minute ye rated Rathmore as contenders to win the Corn Ui Mhuiri and once there beaten ye slate them and say there not that good? I'd be thinking that considering Rathmore had 3 other players who are involved in the Kerry Minor panel that they would start on the St Brendan's team. I never once said Rathmore would win the corn ui mhuiri, never rated them .. Brian Friel friel can play wing back/forward I could see him slotting in nicely at wing back for the Sem team leaving out N.O'D. Mark Ryan would be pushing for contention in Mid-Field And really could not see Dean Fitzgerald starting for the Sem if he did play for them! My opinion Why don't you stop briniging up players that don't play for the Sem

It doesn't just revolve around the Sem? Very mature of you tho, easy to tell where your from!

Not so long ago in the recent past, all of the 2nd level Provincial Finals were live on TG4. A pity it's no longer the case.

Your the one who was childish enough to bring up a statement I made a month again just because I agreed with what another person was saying. I am personal friends of Brian Friels parents and they were considering of sending him to St.Brendans in 3rd year as the school bus to St.Brendans is literally 1 mile from their home so maybe you should think before you type because Brian Friel going to the Sem was a real possibility and yes I do realise Brian Friel does not play for The Sem that's why I said 'IF he played for The Sem'

The very best of luck to the Sem in the Munster final - hopefully they keep the cup and title in Kerry for another year. This has been a good team up throught the age groups and it would be great to see then crowned Munster Champions tomorrow.

Tremendous display by the Sem. Best bit of football I've seen in a while. Final score 5 21 to 0 7. Game over after two mins. First Sem attack yielded the first goal by Evan Cronin ( new Gooch ) after minute and then in the 2nd attack the other corner forward buried the 2nd goal. From there on they played great stuff . Half time score was 3 10 to 0 6. Clonmel scored their only point of the 2nd half on 30 mins. Sem were brilliant . Clonmel were poor.
Liked Evan Cronin, Michael Casey, Billy Courtney,Daniel o Brien,David Clifford.
All in all a great display and great result.

Played some lovely football with an amount of impressive footpassing. The two early goals were a serious statement of intent from the Sem and there looked fairly comfortable from then on. What impressed me most was in the 2nd half the Sem came out and got 4 very quick scores straightaway, which totally killed off any notion Clonmel might have had about a possible fightback deader than disco. For me Courtney was MOTM but the Sem had an array of impressive performers throughout.

Who do they play in the Semi? Leinster champions St Benildus of Dublin who won their final on a scoreline of 2-7 to 1-6; this is their first ever title at this grade.

SEM's game is on in Nenagh on wed 16 at 2. Strange day but it will give them a chance to see McRory final on Pats day and then the semi. Its a good situation for the SEM and best of luck to them. I see that Conor Glass is still playing for Maghera he must have been on the team in 1st year.

The game was originally fixed for 2.00pm but has been switched to 2.30pm to accommodate a double header with St. Michaels Listowel, who are in the All Ireland B semi-final. Great to have the Kerry schools as a double header.
