Dublin 0-16 Kerry 1-15 How wrong I was, how wrong I was. To the players of Kerry, particularly Declan O'Sullivan and Tom O'Sullivan, I stand and salute you all so much. You have made an ex pat here in far away land so so happy. The gamble of booking the flights in July came off. I'm coming home for Kerry in an All Ireland final. I couldn't ask for more from these incredible men. There is tears in the eyes. Thank you lads. Fair play Declan O Sullivan. I was a critic of his this time last year but he has turned it around big time. That time in Oz has done him the power of good. Maybe we can learn from it, leave a few of our seasoned players, injured or just plain tired players have a rest over winter or spring. Also regarding the game 3 quick points. 1) the referee was/is a joke, should not be ever again left ref an intercounty game 2) RTE's commentary from McStay (?), the commentator's assistant or whatever/whoever he is, is apalling 3) Dubs played hard but are over-physical and nasty, none more so than that tosser Whelan, what an absolute gimp of the highest order There were times we were just as bad Mr. T and Paul Galvin is very lucky to have received the red card for a strike of his head.....I'll be surprised if he doesn't get further punishment for it. I didn't think McStay was the worst (considering he had been predicting Dublin all year).....as for Bannon.....he wasn't at his best today, and the free against Marc O'Se at the end typified that. They did far more nasty things than we ever did against you guys, you know, and the messing wasn't always completely one-sided. Fair play, it was deserved though, Kerry always looked a bit above Dublin. Kerry rode the storm. Well done Declan. Pure bias on RTE, on more than one occasion they wouldn't shut up about how many minutes it had been since Kerry last scored, clearly wishing that the dry spell would be prolonged. I didn't think McStay was the worst (considering he had been predicting Dublin all year) Maybe, but he still wrecks my head. He always seems confused as to who is on the ball. At least one thing everyone will be able to agree on is that the ref has a 'mare! GAA, RTE and Dublin Newspapers are the loosers today... These organisations have no interest in Football - they want the Dubs in the Final so they can fill the coffers of GAA; RTE have huge ratings and thus more revenue; and the newspapers will be flying off the shelves with sheet and sheet of Dublin......... Kerry crushed all this today.... Just saw on RTE website - they have a Predictions League of TV Personalities - stating who will win each weekends matches - Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh is on top... After predicting Kerry to win today.... take a look on (http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/championship/prediction_league.html) Bannon was a joke today.... Very nit-picking at every little decision; I dont mind him being hard down on players not kicking the balls for frees where they are supposed to be - I actually salute him for that.... But he didnt control the First half at all...... Dublin people in general are like the players on the field - in your face giving it socks! In one ear and out the other....... Another Semi Final has passed them by ... Kerry are in YET ANOTHER ALL IRELAND FINAL and this time it will be sweet to beat Cork in it !!! I salute all the Kerry lads today - they stood up and be counted - I was thrilled to see Dara come on with 10 minutes to go... But Kerry played well without him - but he is still the engine in the Kerry Train. There was no real panic in the Kerry play - same as with Monaghan - sign of a class team in the making....... Ciarrai ABUUUUUUU

Was at the game- nail biting stuff. I've never been so nervous before a game. Was in lower Hogan - 2 kerry supporters in a sea of dubs. Regardless of all the media hype Kerry showed their class and proved just how good they are and that the Dubs were over-rated. Pillar & Whelo will probably call it a day after this. Dublin supporters were totally shell shocked but I was surprised at how they turned on the team when things wern't going right. The crowd around me were spitting venom & some even left with 5 mins to go, at this stage I still thought it could go either way, one lucky break and things could've been a lot different. Well done to the team & mentors. Roll on Sept 16

Well done to Kerry. That was a huge performance. I thought the turning point was the mistake by the Dubling goalkeeper in holding up the ball in the last few minutes until he had completely wiped out his chances of finding a free Dub. But for that, I think it might have been a draw.

First off - Bannon very poor. No friend of Kerry's at all. That free against Marc O Se near the end was bordering on the ridiculous.
Kerry were at times awesome. Delighted for Reidy, he had a stormer. Marc/Tomas o Se were awesome - the score by Tomas was fantastic. Scanlon did quite well - was very funny in the second half, when it was quite obvious he was told not to shoot at goal after his desperate first half misses. I though Donaghy did very well today. Gooch was the playmaker in the second half - played quite deep and everything seemed to go through him. Sheehan justified his starting position - great point in the second half from about 60 yards. Tommy Griffin did well for about 20 mins, but seemed to slow down quite a bit before he was taken off. Will be interesting to see if Brosnan will hold his place for the final - very quiet in a game that should have really suited him, especially seeing how his marker had a poor game. All in all, a very close game, and looks well set for peaking in 3 weeks time... Looking forward to work in Dublin tomorrow morning!

There I was in The Blarney Stone on Balboa in San Diego - surounded by 50 Dubs at least - what an Atmpsphere - the only other Kerry man was from Kiel - all I can say is I was a minortity amonst those who would have us loose year after year and I am proud to have screamed as loud as I did (with scanting fear) and be proud to be from Killorglin. Co. kerry and to remember the days my Dad took me to game after game - to give me the passion I have and love to this day. Well done lads - and well done the fans of this great Kerry team and Mr Hayes of the Sunday Tribune - you might better think another career...... read his artilce and show what a disgrace he is to Dublin, their Football and the respect and the future they have - Hayes and Bannon should be sent out on a burning ship from the Blaskets.......
Ciarrai Abu gach nomeid, gach la agus gach Blianta.............
Thanks Cooper for the Magic today............

John Bannon should never again be let inside the doors of Corke Park. Was at the game and fair play to the lads. They did us proud. Have to go and have a look at it again now. We're nearly there. More to do tho.

What a day and what a days entertainment both teams gave us.Thought so many kerry players stood up and were counted today.Delighted for Reidy and Tom Sull, Tom Sé you are an absolute legend boy, really took the game to the Dubs in 2nd half.Sideline were excellent, nobody panicked great switches made.Forwards improved big time, fair play to them all. Declan O Sullivan is the best forward in kerry at the moment Thought the referee was a complete joke, it was the same carry on by John Bannon today as in the 2000 semi final drawn game v Armagh, if we had lost today some of his dubious decisions would come for closer scrutiny, think in future Kerry should object if he is looking after one of our matches.Anyway great to be in yet another final and priveledged also. Anyone read Liam Hayes article in the tribune today? What planet is that guy on???

Lawks a lawdy, have I had a day of it. I felt like a right gombeen in the midst of the supporters shouting "GO WAN KIERAN!" when I should have been hollering "GO FOR IT STAR!"
The man is a legend and a joy to watch.
The grapes I had to endure afterwards though! Wait for it.
1. "Kerry now play the same type of 'puke football' that they once criticised Tyrone for" 2. "Paul Galvin is the dirtiest player in the country" 3. "Most Kerry players hit their opponents off the ball" 4. "Declan O'Sullivan's goal was 'soft'"
I would have tried to put my side forward but I was too busy trying not to waste my *ing time. It's just a bit sad. If Dublin had continued their resurgence in the last ten minutes and pipped Kerry by a point, I honestly don't think I'd be going on about Ciaran Whelan's impressive double act as mobile clothesline. Then again...
Regardless, the volume of whistling in Croke park when a free was about to be taken (I'll let you guess by which side) was an import that this sport does not need. Take that horse* to the pub and shout it at sky sports, lads.

Will be interesting to see if Brosnan will hold his place for the final - very quiet in a game that should have really suited him, especially seeing how his marker had a poor game. I just watched The Sunday Game and played close attention to Brosnan's contribution. It was a lot greater than I thought this afternoon watching the match live. He scored 2 points from play, set up the Declan O'Sullivan goal chance in the first half and also was a direct contributor to about 3 other points . . . . so I think he'll be pretty happy with his contribution today and assuming training goes well should hold his spot. Griffen's cameo was fantastic. He really put himself about. . . . and what about Darragh when he came back on. Very rusty initially (outfielded twice and had a blocked pass) and then fields a beauty and sets up a score . . . mighty stuff. Also, second match in a row that Pat O'Shea and his team have used the bench to great effect. I'd imagine it will be the same 15 for the final.

Did you not think it was a bit dodgy bringing Darragh back on when he'd been taken off with what looked like a hip injury?
Tommy Griffin did a mighty job; no arguments there.

Tommy Griffin did a mighty job; no arguments there. on radio 1 at h/t it said he could be back on. he went into d dressing room and got an inlection in his back and recovered on time. itcould av been a nerve in his back. on d sunday game u could see d agony in his face. another thing d majority of d dubs are sound and were gracious in defeat miles ahead in comparison to cork and monaghan. i was surprised by this. but we met a gang of scuts waiting 4 kerry cars and they were jeering us light heartedly i though and i responded next thing two eggs landed on d roof of d car. if we caught them.low lifes

Oh My God lads what a game!!! So proud to be from Kerry.
All the Kerry players were fantastic!!!
I hope the same team starts against Cork.
What a start from Marc OSe-runs up the field to set up a point. Vaughan was quietened.
Reidy was really good fair play.
Mozzy that Foley guy is Jim Foley from Keel out there for years. Has brother in Hartford and another in Chicago-if it's the same guy. Great footballer in his day.
I was watching it in Galway Arms Toronto surrounded by Dublin also. We had a good show of Kerry lads too though. I got the thing about "lucky goal" too. F off Dublin looked like a bunch of nackers out there today.
Bring on Morgan and the gang!!!
P.S. Thanks for the post on my friend Brosnan - I don't have the benefit of watching it again but he was definately flying today.

Just in from game. Quick word. Fair play to Tom O S and Mark. I thought Killian was superb and as for Padraig I can't say enough. Both are lads with a massive future. Gooch is simply the best footballer in the championship.Pound for pound the best we have ever produced. Declan and Paul were awsome. The bias and sheer incompetence of the ref was breath taking. He spoiled my day and did all he could to dump us out of the final.A total disgrace and I for one hope this will be followed up.He should never ever get another game at this level. Class you cannot coach it develope it in a jym or ............ Oh ill say no more.

Still on a high after yesterdays game!!! What a performance! We owe those guys so much. What enjoyment they have given us since '97. Having read Liam Hayes article yesterday i was foaming at the mouth and wanted to tog out! No need to hire a psychologist to motivate the team. I just wonder what planet that man is on.

What a game, there was great atmosphere. dec o sull led by example.reidy had best game all year, didnt give vaughan a inch. killian young looks set 4 young player of the year in my opinion, defended well & managed to get forward with every attack.all the back were good, sure 3 of the dublin forward line were taking off, showed the backs were on top twas great team performance, eveery1 got stuck it, start of 2nd half won it for them

Wow, what a game, what a performance by Kerry. That was one of the best games of football i've seen in a long time, take the stupid messing going on in the first half out of it and it's a classic, up there with 77.
Some people are saying were over hyped and over-rated, I don't think so, this was a very good Dublin and they brought out the very very best in Kerry, super comeback by them, but at the end of the day as someone else said you can teach class. Gooch and Declan have this in abundance, what a masterclass by the two of them.
Selection of team was totally justified, delighted for Reidy, he had a tough few weeks. Young is some footballer, great passer of a ball, 2nd only to Gooch. Scanlon did very well, if he just doesn't try to kick the points, thinks he knows that now. He was marking Whelan when Darragh went off and I don't think Whelan touched the ball.
I'm still on a high, what was refreshing was the way we played, no long aimless high balls, exactly what I asked for last week, so delighted. One slight criticism i would have is that while they made right subs, they should have been made 5-10 mins earlier, especially Sean Sull for Galvin, he was itching for a red card

Fantastic performance in such a high intensity match and atmosphere. I don't think I've ever been at a match where the noise level was so high. Incredible! From 1 to 15 and beyond we had heroes everywhere. Seamus was much improved for me yesterday and yes he missed the kicks but he had the guts to go for it when it was on and should be applauded for that. Stood up when the need was greatest there yesterday. Tommy Griffin was outstanding too I felt and can feel hard done by to have to go off. I wonder will Dara be ready for the final...he'll obviously move mountains to make sure he is. Padraig Reidy was excellent yesterday too...hopefully he'll carry that on in to the final. Declan O'Sullican, Gooch, Killian Young, where do you stop...Darren when he came on....brilliant, brilliant, brilliant....but, nothing won yet. Midfield will be a huge struggle the next day, Cork are better there than Dublin and will bring Cussen out to support. We will need even bigger performances from midfield and at least the same level of intensity elsewhere if we're to come out on the right side of that game. Heres hoping anyway.
A quick word on Dublin, they are a very good team being unjustly criticised in the papers today. They were damn close to getting to an A.I. final yesterday. I hope for their sake Whelan does stay on and all the rest as well. They probably need something extra or maybe not, who knows how next season will go. Can they bring the same motivation and drive back next season. If they want to win it, they'll have to, simple as that and they're more than capable of doing so.

This Kerry team are really special...
The amount of times they have produced the big performance when they needed it most is just amazing.. They really need to be acknowledeged as a great great team..
Declan O Sullivan deserves special mention yesterday..He popped up with the vital scores at the crucial times..It was his best ever performance for Kerry..
It will take an extraordinary effort from Cork to beat Kerry in the final...extraordinary!! This team wont crack under any pressure. They will keep their composure and beating them in the All Ireland for Cork I think is well Id say very improbable.
Come on the Kingdom..
