Any idea what dates we are looking at for championships kicking off. Potentially brought forward? Greengold35 put this up on the Armagh thread earlier this evening.... senior & intermediate weekend of 27th July with both being completed in full, ie, intermediate final is fixed for 7/8th Sept; the intermediate rounds are on consecutive weeks, 5 weeks/5 round with a 2 week break to the final. Premier junior/junior will not start until 3rd or 10th August. The county championship will start week after intermediate final - 14/15th Sept; Christy Ring format.
Thanks for that greengold35. It makes way more sense to finish out the club championships completely before the county championship begins.
[br

Some of the fixtures listed above have been changed changed. They're on the Kerry Gaa website.
The ones I know of are:
Laune Rangers v Kerins O'Rahillys is on at 7.30pm on Friday the 26th in Austin Stack Park.
Austin Stacks v John Mitchels is on at 4pm on Saturday the 27th in Strand Road.
There could be more but I haven't studied the fixtures on the website in depth

I suppose a Public Service announcement is in order that patrons should verify times and locations before any travel as this information may be incorrect by game time. Also, are clubber showing any games this year for club championships?
Edit 7/20: Per notice on website, above intermediate fixtures confirmed correct re dates/times/venues.

Hopefully mg72 and greengold35 will keep us informed of any changes. The fixtures tab for each group is not on the website yet, so verification of fixtures is tedious, to say the least.

Those fixtures issued on Monday but some were amended then on Tuesday. I'm sure clubs can agree to change dates/times - hopefully the Board updates the website in a timely manner.
Thanks in advance for posting any changes you hear about.

After a rushed intercounty championship, now time for a rushed club championship, just don’t seem right.

After a rushed intercounty championship, now time for a rushed club championship, just don’t seem right. I would like 25 hours in the day and 13 months in the year too. The reality is the old system was a killer for players playing up to Christmas with divisional championships and everything else. The unique system Kerry have with a county and club championship means that this is the only logical way of running the championship. I see people giving out on twitter about the hurling championship being finished too soon. I ask these people, what is the solution. Many are playing both codes so this is the only time to play it

Era, if my aunty had ***** and all that, it’s a general observation, about all the championships coming up, players asked to play 5 weeks in a row at intermediate and junior.
The system is broken don’t fix it, will be fine, I don’t have the answers , enough consultants engaged to figure that out.
Let’s see what happens, our club championships are our diamond , hope they recapture the excitement of last year.

Ya look at this stage, I have parked the Armagh match, that is the joy of club ball. You’re back in straight away…In truth, and I’ve often said this, I am much as I like the championship, I miss the cut and trust of knockout, I actually enjoy the pre-championship or build up more. What I mean by build up is the league structure, week in week out, new players and green shoots. In that regard I actually, at stages enjoy the local scene more.
For me the likes of next weekend, the intermediate and senior, seeing can any new players make inroads, or up and coming ex minors or U21 as well as development squad or fringe players… look at next weekends games as an example, a double header in Tralee.. Fossa and Beaufort.. so potentially both Clifford’s vs Sean O’Brien and Mike Breen, after, Dingle with all the Geaney’s, Barry Dan, Tom Sull vs Crokes with White, Brosnan, Burns, Murphy and the likes of Mark O’Shea who some tout as a midfield option… This is actually what I half enjoy more… the local gaa clashes, conversing with the real local gaa man, as opposed to the armchair man with the all ireland ticket that hasn’t a clue..

be interesting to see how many Kerry players tog out with their clubs though perhaps part of the reason for bringing it forward was none of the players would have holidays booked next week.
attendance was hit and miss last 2 years

Group B result from tonight (and result is posted on website): Kerins O'Rahilly's 2-9 Laune Rangers 0-13 Scrappy enough match in Tralee this evening. Laune Rangers should have been out of sight at halftime, but didn't take their chances and were only up by 3 points at halftime after playing with the breeze. 2 goals on the break clenched it for Rahillys. David Moran with 1-1 from play in the 2nd half is still a class act.

I thought it was a high quality afair actually in a defensive aspect
