And so we go into Rd 3 with 3 points. Donegal also on 3 points after drawing with Mayo in Sligo (Castlebar pitch not available) and beating Kildare in Ballybofey.
With home advantage, Kerry should be expected to win, so the poll gives a margin of victory this time. That makes it even tougher to make a selection.

Yeah agree Donegal have made a decent start to the league and are no chumps. Be a step up from Saturday night id say. It also depends on Murphys injury different team with him driving them on

We’ve only beaten the divisions whipping boys, we drew with Kildare and Donegal beat them! Donegal will be well able to get a result

Any chance of them putting on some more pre-game entertainment? Are Crystal Swing free??? Would be great if entertainment (and announcements in general) was not just for those seated in the stands. I love ASP as a venue and think the atmosphere is second to none but the PA system is pathetic - a problem in Killarney also. You are waiting for the announcements to be relayed from somebody with a radio listening to Radio Kerry. Between illegible numbers and a muffled (at best) PA its a guessing game as to who is doing what and when.

Oh yeah that reminded me was the PA not working or something on Saturday night. The only reason anyone knew the anthem was on where I was, was because the crowd in the stand started to sing. Likewise there was no announcement as to what subs were coming on or off or how much extra time was being added etc.
Very frustrating esp when you can't always see the officials board and the numbers on it.

PA in Killarney was decent enough I thought, at least it was for the McGrath Cup Final. Mind you they could have a look at the half time CD. For years and years it was the Wolfe Tones and now it's Thin Lizzy, Aslan, the Script. You'd swear there was no musical talent in this country outside of the M50.

I find the PA system at Fitzgerald Stadium pretty decent, it used to be better, was as clear as a whistle back in the late 90's and early naughties. Killarney is now not the best stadium, yet I love the old world charm of the ground with it's 80's vibe. Sitting on benches that are around 15 inches off the ground with badly freehand painted numbers on them, doesn't look great. Austin Park in Tralee could really do with n upgrade, seeing Dubs coming back from the Dunnes Stores end shed toilets complaining of the facilities and the rough rubble around them, they are right, to me, it's completely unacceptable. I know we are very lucky to have two intercounty grounds, we'd be one of only eight counties out of the 32 that do, yet we'd have the third biggest capacity wise of two grounds outside of Dublin and Cork. It's the upkeep, tidiness, the aesthetics I've a serious problem with, both our pitches are excellent,it's the corner rubble heaps in Austin Stack Park and the ugly ducking gravel pit mound at the Dalton's Avenue end, the benches thry removed there are better than the gravel pit there now at Fitzgerald Stadium, which are embarrassing and eyesores.
The stadia throughout Ulster were no go location dump tips in the 70's and 80's during The Troubles. Now they have first class facilities, The Atheletic Grounds in Armagh, Parc Esler in Newry to name but a few, small, but tidy.
We are Kerry with 37 All-Ireland Senior Football titles, we should be doing better than that. We should try new ways of making our two historic stadia different and more brilliant. I have ideas on this. Cost effective almost.
But for the bigger jobs, we may need a sugar daddy I guess. I do realise the county board are cash strapped after covid now I guess.

It could be a very much changed team depending on sigerson if its MTUK vs UL on Wednesday week surely the likes of David, dara Jack savage et al should be rested ? One noticeable absentee last Saturday night was cover for midfield off the bench, admittedly we had two options on the half forward line in Seanie and Adrain but I'm talking about freshness, fresh legs off the bench, in earlier McGrath you had two players that continued to impress me, Paul O'Shea and Adam Donoghue, Enna O'Conchuir was also floating, Adam hasn't featured since the Tipperary game, while Paul/Enna have been absent since the McGrath Cup. Horan would appear to be pigeoned holed to the wing berth. We have options in defence and forwards, we need options, fresh legs for the centre. In this regard, any update on our new Captain?

Can we please just have the National Anthem played over the sound system and abandon the phenomenon of some person murdering it. It seems to be the norm in all Ulster games and its creeping in elsewhere.

Would be too expensive to get brass, marching bands, but for very high profile games, but would give those bands much needed revenue as well, at least this would be better than individuals trying to murder it. You see this at European / World Cups in soccer now, it's the easy and a lazy way out playing those matches on loudspeakers, you simply cannot beat a live marching / brass band playing an anthemn, that's the way it was a lot in the 80's Obviously this is not feasible with cash strapped county boards at present.

I don't want to criticise any individual performance or performer who are clearly doing their best. Singing the Anthem with no musical accompaniment just sounds cheap.

Murdered might be a stretch but manslaughter at least.

If i was Jack I would make a few changes, be good to get a bit of time into different lads of course how the sigerson goes will be a factor. It will be a different type of game than last 2 weeks Donegal are back to at least a heavy blanket if not the full double duvet by all accounts so patience , frees and a different style of play is required. I'd use Tom sull as the free man and or beaglaoich. I liked the balance to our attack the last day a 2 man inside line with a workhorse at 10 in lspillane I think Joe o connor would fit this mold aswell and add more going the other way. Depending on sigerson etc id like to see casey, Breen ,joe o connor and brosnan all start.

Sigerson games are Thursday night. League game is 1:45pm. That's not enough time to recover. Sigerson players should play 25 min max on Sunday.
