Dare I say Donal O'Grady of Ballingarry and Limerick would be a great fit. He is a great motivator, isn't too far away from North Kerry and he always gives everything for his teams. He has been with a very successful Limerick set up for years now and has done wonders with Granagh Ballingarry. Whether Kerry could lure him away from Limerick is another mnatter. not a bad shout at all I must say

The Kerryman suggesting that it could very well be a native manager in charge next year

A name I seen somewhere else that I had never thought of is Christy Walsh. Has had a lot of success at club level in Kilkenny and even has intercounty management experience, granted in football.

I wonder could a high profile football person come in as MANAGER along with a hurling coach from outside the county.

I suppose someone like Eamon Fitzmaurice would fit that description but very unlikely

Offaly pip Laois and play in Leinster next year. Prob good news for Kerry as the Offaly juggernaut would be very hard to stop

The names who are definitely interested in the Kerry job include, Barry Hennessy Limerick, Pat Bennett, who was part of the last management team; Mark Foley who worked alongside Ciaran Carey in 2016; Stephen Goggin (Causeway manager); John Tweak Griffin, Brian Culbert who was involved with Fintan O’Conno;r as well as Ian Brick.
Some good names here and lads who would have been in and around the club game in recent times.

Darren Gleeson has left the Antrim job. Would be a decent chance for the Kerry job imo.

Gleeson would have a lot of experience and Seoirse Bullfin is gone to westmeath . There seems to be a bit of ground support for a native manager this time of coarse its hard to know what county board are thinking . Will they go for continuity with Pat Bennett who knows but they would want to make decision quickly

While I think he should be part of a management team I'd be very surprised if he was given the managers job. I don't think he has very much expertise. Was he playing with Lixnaw this year? I think he was last year.

Any other stand out candidates?

I would think theres a lot of candidates interested in the job . Francis o Halloran and Pat Bennett to name just a couple of men from outside the county . The rumours seem to indicate a swing towards a home grown manager but thats all it is rumours.

We're surely mature enough now as a hurling county to go home grown and see what happens
