A double header with the hurlers.
Also live on TG4 and on GAAGO.
Will the real Kerry please stand up?
Squandered a number of goal chances against Down, would need to be putting any goal chances away here.

A re match of the '14 AI final! Home advantage was probably the difference v Mayo and I'd say both teams are still ahead of us in terms of preparation so it will be hard to exploit potential chinks in their older lads, moreover as it is early in the season. I thought Tyrone could steal Ulster this year but after Mayo game I think Donegal might manage it and they have expanded their core panel to 20. Ah if we improve by the same margin as we did v Down then it will be an interesting encounter.

I am looking forward to this game, as we now are in a position to field new players without feeling the need to win at all costs. I think you should win this one, but it will be more interesting to see individual performances more than team ones on this outing. Great that it is on tv. I dont fancy driving down to kerry to see it. If Kerry win this one, I fancy you to beat either monaghan or cork to stay up and possibly make the last 4 too.

Does anyone know if the football season card gets us in for the hurling match before the football on Sunday?

What kind of a crowd is predicted for this double header with the Kerry hurlers making inroads?

I was in Austin Stacks yesterday and there is still a good bit of work to be done to get it ready for Sunday. The dug out area on the terrace side of the pitch is still a building site as is the terraced area at the Mitchels end. The pitch does look in excellent shape.

I hope there are plans to build terracing at the Horan's end.

Anyone know why the announcement of the team is being pushed out from Thursday evenings to Friday evenings? My guess is that training is alternating between Thursdays and Fridays, so the team is announced accordingly.

No sign of a Donegal team.
I wonder if they might rest some of their U21s as they are in action Wednesday week?

Interesting to see how the Paul Murphy experiment will play out and whether Kieran will remain in midfield. If both are allowed to play like they did in Newry it will be very watchable.

There's no way anyone will be let play like they were in Newry. Watched back the game again for my sins and even the 2nd time it was unbelievable how bad Down were - The Down game can't be used as a benchmark for anything really.

The ease with which Down allowed Kerry build from the back was in total contrst to how hard Dublin work at preventing the same thing. Against Monaghan Dublin worked like dogs at closing down Monaghan as they tried to work the ball out of defense.
In hurling theere are 8 strong counties but only 6 are in division one. The games are close and competitive and no team is an also ran.
In football there 8 teams in Division one but there are not 8 strong counties. You would struggle to find six. Down are not at this level and that game can be forgotten about as regards judging Kerry.

The tactic of the McGees and Kavanagh- pull and snipe at people all day and if they even give you a dirty look- hit the ground and whinge. Hard men

Mahoney, Sheehan and Donaghy the big culprits on Kerry's side for fighting.. Wouldn't want it to continue into the summer

It won't they are not dirty players. Donegal came down and started it in the first few minutes. Alan Fitzgerald was pulled and dragged off the ball. Hes not a dirty player either. Donaghy and Sheehan were excellent today. Everyone was good in the second half. They upped their game after the goal. Showed great heart against the wind. Good work rate. That was a big win. Great chance of staying up now.

Disappointed with that game, irrespective of the result. I would like to hear from someone who was at the match, it looked ugly on tv. Lots of percentage fouls, clothes line tackles etc. Not happy to see Kavanagh going for glory in the first half when there was a man inside for a definite point. All in all, it was the most bad tempered game I ever remember donegal play anywhere, including our local derbys against tyrone. I hope that it is something that can be left behind now. The goal in the 2nd half was a well worked move that won the game for you.

Very good performance all round. B Sheehan's free into the wind on his wrong side was pure class. He's an incredible footballer. In a league of his own at the moment.Darren o Sullivan is continuing to put down a marker, he's on fire. Crowley, griffin, Walsh, Star, s o Brien, all excellent today. Thought we played into Donegal's hands in first half, they did their best to reduce the match to a brawl whilst playing against wind. Some tactic!

We were treated to a new "dark arts" tactic today. Alan Fitzgerald had his hand twisted back and his man tried to dislocate his thumb.

The biggest blight on the GAA in the last few years has been the growth of the sneaky plastic hardman- we saw an exhibition today from Kavanagh aswell- spent every kick out in Sheehan's face and when he got pushed away he immediately went to the ref whinging- all in all quite embarrassing to watch.

Spot on Mickmack. It was very obvious watching on TV that was what occurred and even though he had to go for the few punches he gave him, you could not blame him for doing it. The result will stand to Kerry and Darren, Brian and Donacadh were exceptional today. Kieran Donaghy also is working very hard , justifies him staying on. One bad ball from Colm ( possibly assisted by the wind )led to their goal but then he punctuates a fine team performance with a lovely point at the end. I haven't been as satisfied with a Kerry performance since the Kildare game last Summer and all the doom and gloom that was going around, after the first two games, was erased today. Onwards and upwards, literarily, to Castlebar the next day. The Mayo supporters have a particular dislike for Kerry, from what I see on here and other forums. I honestly think they blame us for some of their misery. Lets hope another spirited performance causes the situation to stay that way next week!
