There are an awful lot of spies in the camp, the Dubs have invaded us. Oh’ well they won’t get any information here, sure they already know they’re best and favourites and rightly so too! There just unstoppable! Sure we know we’re up against it – the Dubs are playing the best football in the country. There a really great, great, side, I hope we can stay close and make a game of it. I can’t see us marking the mighty Jayo or the Brogan’s for 70 minutes; sure they have to be hot favourites. If any team ever deserved an All-Ireland it is this Dublin team, Ciaran Whelan is even better than Brian Mullins and Mark Vaughan is Jimmy Keavney mark II, and in Pillar we trust – his pure ice on the sideline. The more I think about it, the more I think we’ll be hammered altogether. I mean like, in fairness most of our fellas are past their peak now and sure they’ve enough won, and some of our main stars have injuries. Anyway, all we can do is kick the ball in high – so my Dublin friends ye need not worry it is you're All-Ireland for the taking. ps: To all the Dubs on this board the Kingdom salutes you!!!! ;D Jasus lads Ur very paranoid, im sure kerry cuteness will be restored soon enough, im afraid kerry are hot faveroutes to get to the final, im sure ye're already lookin forward to getting revenge on meath after 2001 here's the link to jog the memory, dont worry boys retribution is close at hand ;D ;D www.rte.ie/pda/sport/story/50776.html

I am here on one my regular jaunts to the Kingdom. When here I always switch over to Kerry Radio as way of immersing myself in the place. Yesterday, I spent quite a lot of time in the car. FIVE times I heard "Kerry Mid-fielder out through injury". On the 3rd, 4th and 5th iteration, I heard the addendum "full details on the Sports News". Not being familar with the schedule I was glued to the radio for the rest of the afternoon. On the 5th teaser, I picked up the priceless piece of information that the Sports News would be at 5.45pm. At least with that information I could relax until 5.45 and concentrate on the traffic jam in which I had taken up permanent residence. At last, 5.45 came with the news that the Midfielder on the LADIES team was out injured - it did take some time for the further morsel of info to seep in - it was the Ladies UNDER 16 team. Before I get flamed, I hasten to add that I have huge time for Ladies Football and indeed rejoice in a number of kinswomen who play intercounty. BUT in terms of Kerry Radio's (really very silly) tantalising approach to as sacred an issue as a "Kerry Midfielder" - I cannot finish the sentence in any way that would not offend the sensiblities of the sensitive folk who flourish on this Board.

That is the funniest thing I have heard in an age......I genuinely am sorry for the ladies U16 player who is missing from a huge game in her career.....but that has me smiling no end.
Thanks for that one mafi.

Here's a thought:
The main reason for moving Donaghy to 14 was to get ball into the full forward line over the 'blanket defence' used by Tyrone, Armagh and even Cork and Meath to a lesser extent. Given that Dublin play a fast open brand of football and that McConnell is more vunerable to a fast, nippy player, my view is that kerry should go back to basics and play more of the fast, low ball into Gooch, MFR and Donaghy or even possibly bring Donaghy out and leave Gooch and MFR inside on their own.

or maybe one of the really great former schools fullforward resident on the iveragh peninsula.
was thinking similar myself, kieran has improved on the low ball though.

Start Donaghy midfield perhaps with Sheehan full forward? Its not beyond the bounds of possibility but I'd be surprised. Kerry played a much more patient approach in the Cork game, they didnt just pump the ball into Donaghy. Remember Mike Frank was the best forward that day, the primary reason being they fed ball in he thrived on. Still though I'm not convinced that Dublin will actually play a "fast open brand of football" against us. Dublin have been playing Mc Connell full back all year to blood him for a tussle with Donaghy. They have been gearing up for this semi final all year. If I was the Dublin manager I'd be taking a long look at the Monaghan game and saying - if we do this to Kerry we've a better chance of beating them than if he try to take em on in a fast open game of football.

I see the headbangers are out in force, metro I'd say...
Anyway, on the topic today, I think Donaghy coming out is a great option, and I also think Cooper at full forward is an option, Cooper is not a small man and has great hands over head - would McConnell be able to mark the Gooch one on one? I doubt it.

Have the bunting out of the attic and will put it up as soon as the first semi is over (dont want to be accsed of having Meath bunting up). usually generates a bit of crack on the road. A few of the neighbours are putting out Dub flags now. There is a house not a million miles away from me where yer man has painted the bricks navy and blue (i wont be going that far though)

The shores on the airport road are painted blue! Meryl Streep (well known Dubs fan) would call it, "The Shores of Drumconraison County" ;D I'll post up some pics of the flags around de inner ci'yy for yis

Cork to win tomorrow by two points
Does anyone know why we don't play Mossy Lyons or Brendan Guiney or why they are not option? If I was Pat O Shea, I would be knocking down the doors of Mike McCarthy and Eamonn Fitz - specially over the winter months - . Surely we must have some backs that we are missing in this great County of ours ....
Best of luck to the minors tomorrow - I will be watching them from San Diego - at 5:30 AM.

Guiney isn't even on the panel so he can't play him! Pity though as he would really be close now to starting

It has been said on here that Sheehan and Griffin will come in for MFR and P Reidy, is this true?
If it is i think it could work out pretty well for us.
When Bryan came in the last day he worked well out the field, his creative play out there could help bring Gooch and Donaghy in to play more.
Also if Bryan moved out the field it could free up Broz or Dec to roam further up the field and possibly cause Cullen a lot of problems form center forward.
