Donaghy let himself down against Armagh after scoring his goal last year. A week later he apologised for it and had people eating out of his hand afterwards. You could see the hand of Johnny Culloty in it.
Dublin management should advise Vaughan to apologise. If he does its win win.

Good article by Jack again today – he should be charging the Dubs a consultancy fee at this stage.

The dublin under 21 hurlers had a great victory over offaly in the Leinster final this evening. Dublin have already won the Leinster minor hurling championship. 2.18 to 3.09. The work at underage level is paying off.
The future is blue in both hurling and football.............

The future is blue lads........ i'm telling ye Monaghan arent that good, Shirley? The future will no doubt some day be blue, but we live in the present, and every year is the present, and without doubt the present is still liberally coloured green, gold, red & white Met a lovely couple yesterday, she with a Westmeath geansai, him from Tyrone - Cavanagh's & Dooher's club. Had a great chat, about McGuigan, about Kerry-Tyrone. We agreed that Dooher is the key for Tyrone

Rashers, I would nearly ask the Kerry people to compare those players because I think I might have a slight Cork bias in my selections. First time you've ever been a shrinking asther on here

Rashers.....a few months ago you were raving about Barry Cahill, comparing him to Tomas o Shea as far as i can recall. I could see where you were coming from on sunday last. Is it a concern for you that the leinster football championship is going the way of the leinster hurling championship........ a procession........ game over at half time. The ulster, connaght and munster championships were fought for to the death? Even the dub fans near me were bored by it all To some extent, yes. But the Meath games were close, and Laois are as good as Meath. Sure Ulster has been a one or two horse race for the past 6-8 years, and Kerry's long spell of dominance in Munster hasnt held them back

In todays irish times Jack o Connor says pretty much what I have been saying......... the Dubs are a serious outfit now Are you the source for all his insider info? Sure Jack was writing Dublin off a few weeks ago, now a couple of mediocre games in the "weakest province" later & he's raving - talk about playing to the audience

You think Rashers? I would have said Cavanagh..... I agree that Cavanagh's their best player, but without the wee dynamo, the rest of the team wouldnt click the same way. CES

the dubs for sam 07 no doubt theres no team near them this year Would you care to justify that claim with some hard evidence, and evidence of how Kerry & Tyrone, Cork, Derry, Donegal have not "been near them"?

Rashers, please oh please, if you ever want me to reply to any of your post, do not call Paul Caffery 'Pillar'. But if I must answer this last one, Billy's record answers that one. To answer you, I don't know enough about Dublin to make proper comparisons. The reason is simple, I don't watch that many games on tv because I've trouble enough getting away to games. Last year I would have picked Murphy over Whelan. Cluxton I think is highly overrated, very few are as good as Canty, but I will have to see him playing a bit more to see if he's back to himself after the injury. Spillane is a very good centre back, so I would have picked him anyway. Masters, on a good day is like Corkery of old putting points over that you would think impossible. Are the Dublin forwards like that?! As you see, I do wear rose tinted classes when it come to Cork.

Dermot Connolly was superb for the U21 hurlers last night. Appartenly, Pillar demanded that he concentrate on football and Connolly refused....... hense his exclusion against Loais. It will be interesting to see if he makes the panel for the quarter final match.
There is another gem coming up ........ a lad called Brady from Na Fianna. Again, he was brillant for the under 21 hurlers and Pillar tried everything to get him to join the senior football squad but he refused as he wanted to win the U21 title. By all accounts another serious prospect at both codes.
The future is blue lads

We all know that Vaughan was being taunted as was Donaghy. Its about having a bit of class..... Vaughan is at a crossroads. He can win everyone back by apologising or he can come across as a little scut. The choice is his and the Dublin Management should have enough savvy to see that too. As Jack says in his book....small things makes all the difference...... the difference between winning and losing is inches. Madser is not Donaghy, Dublin are not Kerry, and in any case, what would he be apologising for - Rooney goading him, and screaming at him like a rabid beast?

Cluxton irritated by media frenzy 20 July 2007 Dublin’s All-Star goalkeeper Stephen Cluxton has admitted that the constant nitpicking of the media which erupts after each of their games is causing a bit of a stir in the Dublin camp.
Dublin have been the focal point of media attention following their recent triumphant antics but Cluxton feels that it is only because it is Dublin that such actions are getting so much airing and believes that if it was another county it wouldn’t merit a story.
“I suppose you do have to switch off at times because we aren’t the only team that has certain things or does certain things in games – but we’re probably the only team that gets picked out.
“It is very frustrating for a team to be singled out all the time for doing anything – whether it is walking up to the ’Hill or clapping the management or whether it is standing in front of the ’Hill for the National anthem.
“A large part of that is that the media is based in Dublin so it is going to naturally be like that. I also think that there are a lot of country folk living and working in Dublin, and they are probably going back to where they came from and saying, ah, Dublin this and that’.
“It’s just frustrating to play for Dublin and see every little thing made into something big so I’m sure it’s the same for them. You always see Dublin in the papers,” Cluxton said

Has he any problem with all those dodgy decisions that went Dublins way in front of the Hill so far this year. At least three dubious goals not to mention the disallowing of Geraghtys.

Cluxton should not be complaining about the media. As far as i am concerned he got a least 1 All Star he should not have because of certain media commentators telling everyone that he was the best in the business when clearly he wasnt.

That's as bad as I've heard in ages. Put it this way, Dublin have just annoyed the rest of Ireland and Cluxton has given a face to the Dublin muppetry that culchies play bogball etc..... God hilp him in the quarter final, he's going to get some rare abuse from every support west of the Liffey for saying that.
