its on the 3rd of june. Kerry played waterford last year in killarney so i presume its either waterford or dungarvan. Hopefully Waterford, might be able to make a weekend of it. Was never out in that city before. Might be a good excuse!!kerrygold said:

would waterford win Leinster?owenabue said:
Mickmack, they probably could. Would be great to see Wicklow get a good run at Leinster this year. But going back to Waterford, I suppose it's tough on them having ye next. If the draw was more favourable to them they might have a better chance of getting to the Munster final.

Saw the Wateford Kerry game last year and they gave Kerry a lot of trouble for the first 50/55 minutes. They are a big team physically who will be hard to break down.Nice to see them win after such a barren spell.

Bummer, I'd planned a great weekend going home to the Kingdom and taking in the match.... happy for Waterford but they f*cked up my plans!!austinstacksabu said:
They are a tough tough team. They took their junior team of two years ago and gave a few of them a run out last year and gave us an awful fright for 50 minutes. They have two beasts of men in midfield.

kerry sud be well able to match them physically though with all the weights programmes all the players have been under the last few years!twud take sum man to knock the likes of Galvin,O Mahony or Darragh!!joan said:
What ever it is about the Kerry Jersey it seems to bring out the best in the other teams. waterford will give them a game alright. Kerry will will it but it wontkerrygold said:
The game on the 3rd of june will be exactly 50 years to the day that waterford beat kerry in 1957 in the championship. That game however was played in welsh park.Boyle sports are offering 66/1 on waterford to repeat that victory in this years game if any fancies a flutter.

66/1? in a football match? Jaysus thats insanity.owenabue said:
I suppose you would expect Kerry to win easily, but it's still football, anything is possible. Could be a Tipp Waterford final! joxer said:
It could be Owenabue...I wonder what odds you'd get on that? It'd be against my religion to back against Kerry though so even at 66/1, I couldn't square it with my conscience. Backing against Cork though is another matter!....I had Limerick backed when they beat Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh a few years ago..can't see Tipp causing an upset though. Waterford I'm afraid are more likely to push us close as long as we're up to it mentally, we should be fine.owenabue said:
I'm sure both Waterford and Tipp will be well up for beating us. I would just be worried that Cork or Kerry might be thinking these games are just a formality. jo90 said:
It's 66/1 to win Munster not to beat Kerrykerrygold said:
sorry lads lads,jo90 is correct,i didnt read it proberly.proper odds.
waterford 8/1
draw 20/1
kerry 1/25
waterford to win munster 66/1.

I've definitely gone for a few walks on Waterford beaches and I don't think they were artificial.

Tralee IT beat them afew years ago,we should hammer them!!joan said:
I hope Kerry dont approach the game with the attitude that they will hammer them piggy. We cant get overly cockey it does not suit us and every game has to be approached with hunger passion but above all I hope to see a serious reduction in yellow cards and that they will hold their heads. No more messing. owenabue said:
Jo90, think it was a dig at our Leinster friend. I could be wrong but I think he meant Waterford were unlucky to be in Munster cos they would have a better chance in another province. kingdomkerry said:
How many kerry fans will make the trip to dungarvan. 400 or 500?branch said:
If I could I'd make it back for it!! LOL! If I was at home, I'd certainly be going! We should beat them alright lads, but we should definitely not overlook them, they will be tough! Joan is right, we need to reduce the yellow cards (and red cards) and be careful not to let them rise us! As football goes we are a lot better, but we are getting there too physically! Hopefully this will be the start of the road to back to back All-Irelands!!!
GO ON THE KINGDOM!!

i was out at the kerry-laois challenge game last night in limerick and wasn't impressed by what i saw to be honest. i think kerry won by about 5 or 6 points in the end but that was only cos we got 3 goals in the last 5 minutes! laois look a decent side and with young tierney and quigley in their forwards as well as beano and munnelly they gave the kerry backs a good rattling. dara o se and garvan were boxing each other at every given opportunity midfield and dara ended up being sent off! quill and mike frank were very average in the first half and when gooch and paul connor came on at half time kerry looked much better off. declan sullivan started full but was brought out centre at half time when donaghy came on and didnt look bad at number 11. mike quirke i thought was excellent midfield as well. darren sullivan looked lively in the first half and got a super goal when he burnt his man with unreal pace. other than that kerry looked ordinary enoughowenabue said:

mickmack said:
Kerry get a second chance ....... waterford do not. I know the rationale behind it ..........but........... it doesnt look right
owenabue said:
It really doesn't make sense does it? You can see why Micko was giving out so much about it. mickmack said:
Wicklow could do what Fermanagh did in 2004 if they got a run going in the qualifiers. If Wicklow beat Louth and then lose to Wexford do Wicklow get a back door second chance?owenabue said:
No they can't according to Micko, and we'll presume he's right. I posted up an article last week on the bottom of the link about it.gaakerry.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=all&action=display&thread=1178798009&page=1

if 400 or 500 Kerry supporters travel to Waterford then that will be almost as many as urned up last year in Killarney. There was a total of 3000 cash customers in Fitz Stadium last year and a lot of them were from Waterford.sullyschoice said:
As for winning easily...they didnt exactly hammer them last year either. Will still win thoughanimal said:
Ok. Lets get back to the job at hand. Team predictions please...Has anyone been in to watch them training? Who'll play midfield? Who'll be No 6? No 11? Anyone making the trip?

Yeah that'd be an interesting line alright, you know Star at 14 could be the making of Quill. It'd mean we would not be so reliant on him to win his own ball which can be a problem at times. There are few better finishers in the game.
kerrygold said:
ya but i think we will need three proven ball winners inside that can win their own ball and score to beat the swarm defence.piggy said:

From the Irish IndependentMonday May 28 2007
DECLAN Quill's involvement in a weekend club game could signal his absence from Kerry's starting 15 for their Munster SFC opener against Waterford.
Eyebrows were raised in the Kingdom when Quill lined out for Kerins O'Rahillys in a SFL clash with Dr Crokes while county colleagues Micheál Quirke, Colm Cooper and Eoin Brosnan all bypassed the fixture. Quill, who had been one of Kerry's stars in the League, may have to give way to Cooper and Mike Frank Russell at corner-forward next Sunday, while Quirke is a candidate for midfield with Darragh Ó Sé as Tommy Griffin is carrying a knock.
Paul Galvin did not play with his club Finuge on Saturday and is another who must be rated as doubtful to start next Sunday.

Why would quill do this? When is the team being picked?
