Or could it be that the quality of forwards he is marking in the endless games they play in training are not as good as other years....... Possibly but more than likely just rusty from his long lay -off.

A strange day at the office yesterday for Kerry, but a result that has been coming for a long time. Having had a few hours post match on a sweaty hot train from Cork to Dublin along with some fellow Kerry souls to digest the result and the match itself, I still can't put my finger on it. you weren't the one arguing with the ticket collector stacks were you. train was stinking hot and the dining car was not open!

One thing I noticed is that when a Cork forward made a sprint for the ball they were able to make about 5 yards of space, but when a Kerry forward did likewise the Cork back was only inches behind him. It seemed like the ball was already kicked into Kerry forwards before they ran for it compared to the Cork forwards who made a sprint first and then the ball was kicked to them. It might be a small difference but what it meant was that the Cork forwards were able to slow down as they received the ball making it easier for them to turn towards goal while the Kerry forwards were receiving the ball at full pace meaning they needed another 10 yards just to slow down e.g. Sean O'Sullivan.

Does Anyone agree that supporters should wait for players to get to the tunnel area before invading the pitch...... Imagine playing for 70 mins and then all of a sudden getting swamped by fans. Also, Why did the Kerry team leave the field straight after the match? Isn't it curtosy to wait for the presentation? From the stands though I did see Seamus Moynihan standing on the pitch for a photo with a child dressed in Cork colours.... brilliant!!!!! fantastic to see.

I'd agree with MFR and Gooch on the next day, but would rather see Sean Sullivan on than Brosnan. Likewise, Tommy Griffin made a good run as well that was far more convincing than anything Brosnan could do.

A strange year for us all I think.
I might be over analysing the situation, but could it be possible that with Tyrone's demise and ultimate ejection from the competition, it has led to a lack lustre feeling within the Kerry camp ?
It may be that the guys feel a bit apathetic because they know they won't get a crack at Tyrone this year !
I can't think of any other reason why a good team (which they are) suddenly becomes very, very average - The players are still there but they just aren't performing.
what do you lot think ......?
(I may be over estimating our importance here and if I am I appologise - I certainly don't want to cause offence)
Maybe they just need to get their heads sorted - Concentrate on the task at hand !

There are a few things getting to me about comments on this topic. 1. Whyt do people keep trying to persist with Eoin Brosnan??? not playing well. 2. Brian Sheehan will not be dropped! Forget about it. 3. Mike GFrank should be given his chance instead of Darren or Paul O C. He is a natural scorer and thats what we need/ Ok he might not be as fast as them but what have done with all their speed so far. Yea Yea Darren huffed and puffed and tried his heart out 4. Tommy Griffen it looks like will have to come on and score 2-6 to get a start. What does the guy need to do 5. Why not have guys that while they may never start could be a trump card for 10/15minutes to maybe get a goal, create havok etc etc. Mike Quike, Declan Quill, Stephen Wallace etc
Ok maybe I am ranting a little but the last 2 Sundays have really bugged me as to how little we have up front!

:(They certainly havent become a bad team/finished over night, or else the whole National League meant nothing. No, I'm inclined to agree with whoever said they are playing like theres a big weight on them, theyve lost the sparkle, the inspiration, but I've said all along, Munster doesnt need to matter to Kerry this year. However, this defeat was much more comprehensive than anyone could have expected. SO Kerry have to use it as a cleansing experience, get back to basics, and make use of the advantage of being underdogs for a change. Its more than ever just about their mental state now, forget all the tactical garble, all the over analysis of how to reverse the defeat to Tyrone etc that seems to have muddled their minds since before last year's All-Ireland Final, they have the talent to just go out and play, using their instinct, and lose the shackles. A chance for team & supporters to bond again. And be thankful for the home draw too! Respect to Longford, but the nation awaits Kerry-Armagh, destiny was always leading us all to the prospect of this renewal of the recent epic rivalry.................. ;D

And at last we have had two tough games of Ulster type intensity so that we wont have that old excuse again about the soft games in Munster and us not being ready for the intensity of the Ulster challenge.
