Control,
Any chance you could get rid of all the commercial threads cluttering up the general board ?
Thanks

Control-you have a problem with the thread title JACK OUT. Fair enough-just rename it then. Why the instant kneejerk reaction to lock it? Do you have a problem wilth the 2nd and 3rd replies to it? No? You should and even the 1st reply calls for the lazy 'shut off debate' option.I'm not trying to restart the thread here but I do feel that somethings should be let die (or not ) of their own accord.

To be fair, there is already a thread on Jack O'Connor's role and future so all comments could easily have been put in there rather than opening a new one.

Control, I have to ask why some of the recent posts in the Co. League Div 2 thread (I think) were deleted. I realise that there are legal ramifications etc etc, and some of the stuff posted was idiotic and deserved to be deleted...but surely if this, or any, discussion forum is to continue to be exactly that - a forum for discussion - then reasonable posts that are neither defamatory nor personal, but factual and opinion based and framed reasonably....cannot just be deleted without a reason being given?
I'd appreciate a response on this, as i have raised an issue or 2 here before which have received no response.
Thanks in advance. Shannonsider.

Control. Is it possible to reverse the order of posts on the thread. So that the latest post is the first post a person sees when they open the topic. It frustrates me having to skip along to double digit pages of some threads when it could be at the start. I know this could be a pro board issue but just throwing it out there. Cheers

I see the Intercounty Retirements thread has been closed and a number of 'not so controversial' posts deleted, including my own on Brian Geary. Seems a bit drastic closing a fairly relevant thread for this time of year just becasue it fell into a bit of banter, which really looked over and done with. Maybe something else kicked off since I last saw it.

Hi Lads & Lassies,
As you can see the forum software has been updated. This is to make it more responsive on tablets etc. Any questions PM me.

I don't like this new format. It wrecks my head trying to re learn how to use the site. Maybe it will grow on me

The borders/contrast are very faint in the new site. Also there's no option at the bottom to go to the next page. No big deal but it just makes it less comfortable to read for no good reason. I can't see the purpose or any benefit of the changes at all.

Minor quibble but I don't think\know if you can fix it... on the mobile when you open the General Board the page numbers of the threads don't display. This means that you have to click into the thread and then go to the last page which is (a little) more work than on a laptop where the page numbers are shown on the General Board.

Is it possible to get a link on the new site layout to the main Kerry website as before?
Cheers.

Maybe this has changed with the new format, but it doesn't look like it - you're reading a thread, and you want to post something. You have to log in, but after logging in, you are redirected to the forum main page. I know that from other sites it's possible to be redirected to the thread you wanted to post in, straight to the dialogue box to type your post. Now you may say, "log in when you open the site", which would be fine, and is what you have to do with many sites/forums, but here's the other problem - if you log in here, but don't post anything almost immediately, you are forced to log in again. And thus to rub it in you end up back at the forums main page. This is very irritating. And if I'm not mistaken it's also the case that if you post something and then don't post again almost straight away you also get logged out

My difficulty with change my reflect my age but the old format seemed to work fine. Why give a face lift to a winning formula. Where is spell check in this new fandango?

I drove a Renault Laguna a while back and when I bought a new model they had changed where the handbrake was. Then they changed it back again to the usual place. In the wife's car it's in another place on the dashboard.
As with this new thing... Change for changes sake just baffles me.

Thank God for ProBoards updating their forums this week.
Or else there would be nothing to comment on - 5 pages on the Kerry Tipp game last weekend and 2 so far on Kerrys next championship game! The update of the forum couldn't have happened during a better week.
The text, lack of numbering on the individual posts and the Nintendo Wii-esque member pics take getting used to.

Control 3 Did control not explain here that it wasn't just changed for the sake of it though. I much preffered the old style of the forum also but I can see the reasoning behind the changes. We'll get used to it!

I can't see the purpose or any benefit of the changes at all. Hopefully the contrast is better now. Let me know if you'd suggest changes to any of the colours. For me, the menu bar for navigation between pages hovers at the top at all times - is that working for you?
