Mitchels pulled a rabbit from the hat in young Alan Donoghue, his speed caused havoc in KOR defence

Now I wasnt around last weekend so I didnt get to any of the games but when I checked the scorelines in the paper yesterday I was alarmed by the poor scoring in a lot of them - 15 points in the rathmore/m'town game, 17 in Kierans/East Kerry and 17 in the Mid & Shannon Rangers game, Brendans can afford to only score 4 points and still win by 4 points! A poor reflection on the club scene at the moment?

yes i must say well done to kenmare. a fine win over a fancied west kerry side. alan and flor o sullivan, paul and donal o connor were the stars of the show for kenmare and they could cause a few upsets along the way although alan o sullivan is going to america for the summer so he will be a huge loss. enda crowley to come back into that team yet

East Kerry met up for the first time the monday before the game. Certain players aren't even making themselves available and they left a Kerry U21 midfielder on the bench and persevered with a young fella more at home at centre back/Full Back from what I have seen of him. Makes no sense to me at all.
Preparation is key for divisional sides and it doesn't look like East Kerry have put the effort in at all yet.

Likewise with Shannon Rangers, several players not making themselves available and inadequate preparation. Three club teams within Rangers, Tarbert, Ballyduff or Beale would have put up a better show on their own. At least they would have team work, heart and pride in the jersey all qualities lacking in various degrees last Sunday. Contrary to other beliefs the proper management is not yet in place. John Mitchels could draw with O'Rahillys and Legion beat Listowel, I would rate the three teams above equal if not higher that those two.

Heard Laune Rangers were a shambles against Stacks? Anyone at it?
They go on to play Kilcummin now in one of the losers round games and from what I heard on that performance against Stacks Kilcummin have every reason to feel optimistic.

Rangers were poor alright, Kirby and especially Donaghy destroyed them midfield.

Forgot to congratulate ASABU on Stacks' great win over the Laune at the weekend. I for one was very sceptical of their chances after getting a hiding from Rathmore just before it. Just shows that championship can bring out the best of teams on any given day.

Thanks Seamus. Wasn't there myself unfortunately due to another committment the previous night but was getting updates from home. The Narries and ourselves winning certainly helped tip my predictions towards the positive side.....
We haven't been motoring well in the league and things haven't been all that settled under Dinny but maybe that was the result we needed to get us up of our britches before it was too late this summer.

Think Gaeltacht have the backs to mark the Dinlge forwards. Think they should win that one. East Kerry Vs Shannon Rangers is too poorly prepared teams I'd imagine so toss a coin. Either prepared would beat Kilcummin but not sure at the moment. Have a rather strange fancy that Rathmore will beat Rahillys. South Kerry will have too much in the tank for either Feale or the west. If Milltown overcome Mitchells they'll beat Legion once they are at somewhere near full strength. Crokes should beat Kenmare district but they don't seem to be motoring as well as last year. Think Brendans will beat Stacks. Mid Kerry to take Kierans.

A very interesting draw alright ! Fairly well balaced ! A couple of games which are just too close to call ! It will make for a good weekend of football, between 16th and 18th of June !
In the draw itself; South Kerry should have too much for either Feale Rgs or West Kerry, however away from home and especially if they have to go to Listowel, they could meet strong resistance !
Miltown are the best equipped of that trio to advance, but Legion won't be far off !
Any one of the four from East Kerry, Shannon Rgs, Laune Rgs or Kilcummin could advance, however I'd go with one of the divisional sides, probably East Kerry to advance, as the two clubs are are struggling of late and in Laune Rgs case, in a kind of transition !
Dingle and Ghaeltacht is a fascinating clash ! Dingle I'd say are delighted, as it gives them the chance to make up for last year ! It will be tight, but expect Ghaeltacht to shade it !
Strand Road and Rathmore is another one very hard to call ! Strand Road are a fairly young side who have been doing the Jekyll and Hyde for most of the year ! Rathmore are a fairly settled side and will be keen to make up for very tame exits from the SFC in 2004 and 05 ! If either Mahony or Sullivan put the shackles on Quill, then Rathmore will win !
Expect Kenmare to be very formidable against Crokes ! They are the best organised divisional side and have good forwards, but its probably too big an ask to expect them to travel to Killarney and beat the Crokes ! But remember they nearly beat Laune Rgs in Killorglin last year !
St. Brendans and Stacks has the makings of a cracker ! Its a great draw for the Brendans as the chance of taking on Stacks will really get fellas interested and into training ! With home advantage, probably in Ardfert, expect a pysched up Brendans to take the Rock !
Finally the clash of St. Kierans and Mid Kerry has the makings of another fine match ! Two of the better divisional sides, their is top quality players on both sides, and who ever emerges will be serious championship contenders ! I'd go for Kierans, who are a more expierienced outfit and look well balanced !
