brendans performance wasnt that good, they will thank the feale rangers goal keeper who made a few sad attemts to catch a few balls gifting st brendans goals, only for that feale rangers would have won

THE WONKA=yes thats right lads went to to the dingle match and they proved ye all wrong, no harmy e getting a ,kick up the hole-quick silver o neill and the whole dingle forward line destroyed the kilcumminin full back line especially-come on dingle-proving the whole county wrong!missing a good few players the dingle side were, put still they manage a 0-19 to 0-9 victory!no harm in a club like dingle showing how its done!bit of respect is all they want....fair play to the dingle management and the players and all the effort they put in-all i say JACKO especially, teams come together at championship!and thats the bottom line cause WONKA says soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

another bit of a shock from all the predictions. handy win for St. Kierans against East Kerry in the end yesterday. tight 1st half but a few good scores in the 2nd half finished off east kerry. P Reidy man of the match full back. Keirans won well midfield in 1st half and also when Moynihan went out in the 2nd.

Kenmare beat West Kerry 2-15 to 0-14. 1-6 to 9 at half time.....Kenmare always had the upper hand. destroyed west kerry at midfield with Flor Sullivan lording it and alan o'sullivan running well longside him.

On my way to dublin i stopped into Listowel to watch the double header there. Was a bad decision! Defintely the worst attempt by four teams at senior championship i have seen in a long time and only strengthens my view that the divisional structure is totally flawed as it was obvious that there was no preparation from any of the teams.
The Shannon Rangers vs Mid Kerry game was chronic. 10pts to 7 to mid kerry in the end and nothing to shout about. The game was full of frees and slow moving. I was expecting a lot from Darren O'Sullivan but he was quite and Paddy Kelly took too much out of the ball. Feale Rangers v Brendans was a strange game as Feale were well on top but conceded 2 soft goals ( goalie dropped ball into net) and could'nt recover. Paul Galvin really stood out although he should have been sent off 3 times! Fitzmaurice was quite and in the end it was probably the Ardfert factor that got Brendans through.
I am now refusing to read any more threads on North Kerry football telling me how great certain players are. After watching the 'cream' of north kerry (apart from listowel) in both games, it is the weakest district in the county by a long shot. As for Mid Kerry and Brendans i predict an early exit in the next round.
The lack of preparation that teams are putting in is a joke. When you see how Mitchels rattled KOR with a very average team that was hugely prepared and motivated it makes you wonder why we continue to devalue the blue ribbon event by putting out mickey mouse divisional teams.
On another note, there is a rumour going around that ASABU was seen climbing a floodlight in stacks park on saturday night with a screwdriver turning off the lights after Rangers went 4pts to 2 up. Guilty?

Guilty? As it turns out Seamus, my services weren't required at all despite getting all the climbing gear on - the floodlights actually wouldn't come on at all.....

Do i detect a note of sarcasm there Wonka! The chest was out around town last night i'd say. I presume you wished them well for the loser's round!
By the way i think i set a world record for getting predictions wrong this weekend!

Haven't heard but with the Waterford game on the following weekend, the Kerry players on both panels won't be available so can't see either team agreeing (mind you, it's only Star for Stacks and MFR and Seamie Foley for the Laune.....)

What a spirited display by the mitchels over the weekend. Atmosphere was electric in stacks park. Sean Geaney is doing some job with mitchels

They were very fit and hungry with Ger Dan Dennehy giving a great display up front. KOR were poor though and should improve for the replay. Hope Mitchels don't get carried away as they still have to win a game to stay in the championship and i can't see who they could beat apart from possibly Milltown.

Fair play to the Mitchels!I didnt see that one coming. The Stacks vs Laune Rangers match is re fixed for next weekend with free entry. I was at the West Kerry vs Kenmare game.It was a good free flowing game.West Kerry looked as if they didnt have much work done going into this game and Kenmare were a far better unit.Kenmare dominated midfield and Paul O Conner was class he caused trouble every time he got the ball..

who got all the goals for st.brendans?? Conor Daly got two, Martin Ferris and John Egan got one goal each ! All with a bit of help from John Coleman and Trevor McKenna ! The media and a lot of people at the game were saying it was chronic stuff, however I actually thought that there was some good football played in the game and nice moves strung together, and the goals ensured that there was a fair bit of excitement ! Feale Rgs should have been out of sight by half time, but in fairness to the Brendans, when they settled down to it in the second half they looked the better side and had their forwards brought their scoring boots, would have won by a lot more ! The Mid Kerry V Shannon Rgs game was a drab and foul ridden encounter, which is hardly worth discussing ! Both sides had fairly good teams out on paper, however what they served up was very poor ! The Strand Road and Mitchels game Saturday night was a cracker ! Mitchels played a good fast brand of football and showed great determination and heart throughout, even when things were going against them ! There were a lot of contenders for man of the match, but I'd give the nod to Mitchels wing forward Stephen Mahony, who ran rings around the Strand Rd defence ! I thought the Strand Rd sideline were very slow to make changes and was baffled at how they left thier backline intact for so long ! People are saying that Mitchels have blown thier chance, and while I do think that Strand Rd will shade it the next day, expect it to be fairly close again ! Kenmare had a very impressive win yesterday, considering they were minus a few important players ! They seem to be a well organised and interested outfit, and with some of the big name clubs and divisional outfits going badly at the moment, they could go a long way in the county championship !
