Well it would be ridiculous to expect Castle and Lispole to compete on their own in the County championship, two junior division 3 teams. However they have some quality players between the two and would be better than St Brendans, Mitchells, Kenmare Legion for starters.

St Brendans are chronic,One or 2 Ardfert lads and thats it

Yeah they have been chronic with the last 10 years, but this year with Pat Driscoll at the helm I expect them to be quite formidable, and with a favourable draw could go to the semi finals !
Last year with only a 'slap up' team out, (minus all the Ardfert big guns) they ran West Kerry to 2 pts, after conceding a soft goal and hitting the crossbar 3 times ! If they meet this year the Brendans will take them handy ! West Kerry dont have the backs to mark their forwards !

I dont agree with you on this one "steelfixer" West Kerrys backs would easily hold their own with whatever St. Brendans could throw at them! Players like Sean O Mahony, Ronan "Tod" Carroll, kieran Driscoll, Dustin O Donnell, Shane Sullivan and Kevin Griffin could weather any storm once they could gel together. Sure what household names do St. Brendans have?

Semi Final? I think a step too far this year for them but they will defo be a lot more organised than previous years. They should have beaten West Kerry last year with a team that included in theri forward line "mo" morriarty, young callaghan and Liam Harty!! Replace these with Wallace, Egan, and Griffen from Ardfert and you have a much more formidable outfit. Backs will be strong with Costello, Doyle, Flaherty, Culloty to name a few. Anyway the draw isn't even made so who knows what will happen. I mean Brendans got East Kerry or someone like that they would struggle in the first round for sure. But I ask the question.....CAN THEY GET ANY WORSE THIS YEAR SO ANYTHING WILL BE AN IMPROVEMENT?

Feck me, can people not read the website. The show's between 9-10pm. That's as close as you'll get unless you ring up Radio Kerry and ask for the shows running order!!

County Football Championship Draw
The draw for the first round of the AIB County Senior Football Championship was made on Radio Kerry last night. 16 teams went into the hat, with the 8 resulting games to take place on Saturday May 6th or Sunday the 7th.
Tralee's Austin Stack Park is to host a double bill on the 6th, with Kerins O'Rahillys playing John Mitchels at 6.15, followed by Austin Stacks against Laune Rangers at 7.30.
That same evening, Rathmore host Milltown Castlemaine at 7.
On Sunday at 2.30, Currow stages St.Kierans versus East Kerry, while West Kerry meet Kenmare in Annascaul.
There's a double header in Listowel, with Shannon Rangers playing Mid Kerry at 2, followed at 3.30 by Feale Rangers versus St.Brendans.
And at 7 on the Sunday Kilcummin are at home to Dingle.

The only game that would excite you is Stacks vs Laune Rangers. These early games just get rid of the dredges of the championship. Complements to the county board for playing more double headers which should ensure bigger crowds and give some value for money to supporters.

I heard Shannon Rangers are doing a bit of work under John Kennedy. They might sneak past Mid Kerry.
