Does anybody know if tonight’s Connaught u20 final between Sligo and Mayo is going ahead. Sligo were refusing to play unless they got a home venue under some home and away arrangement. Game on at 6pm beo ar TG4

Ah Christ, this is so unprofessional. Munster Council will step back hoping Kerry will step up. Grow a pair Munster Council and use the best weapon possible. Game fixed, play or be expelled from the C'ship for 2022 and league points deducted for the 2023 season. If they really had the balls, sanction the hurlers as well, that would well and truly have the cork chiefs shifting in their seats. Regardless of the stand off, Kerry should keep clear, not their fight to resolve. When a true rebel and cork gaa die-hard like Billy Moran says.. play in Killarney and owe two back, it makes you wonder at the reasoning and stance by the Cork crew. Why have Cork not nominated Pairc Ui Rinn as their home venue in the absence of P Ui Chaoimh for the hurling games?? They probably prefer Thurles.

It appears part of the reason the Cork hurlers aren't complaining is that originally Cork would play 3 weeks in a row. The rescheduled game in Thurles is not on the same day before the change.
Why complain to play 3 weeks in a row? Munster bent over backwards for these hungry showers, twice.

So Sligo got their way by digging their heels in for a home venue. This may embolden our friends across the border.

Another year of gaa nonsense what other sporting organisation would this happen in? Between this and solicitors going over the rulebook to get lads off red cards after its such an embarrassment. If munster council cave we should just scrap the home and away and go with first out choses what a farce

Connaght council either ignored home and away agreement or were not aware that such an agreement existed. Not a good look either way. Fair play to Sligo for digging in. Would they have won if game played in Mayo. Then we have the Munster Council giving no clarification on why they appointed PUR for Kerry Cork if it contravened existing agreement that games should be played in PUC or Killarney. Do the players not deserve better?

Do the players not deserve better? Absolutely 💯. Sligo were spot on in looking for a game that was owned to them. Prenty, the Connught Council suit whose from Kiltamagh in Mayo, trying to sell the Connaught Centre of Excellence in Bekan, which is in Mayo near Knock, as a true Connaught venue backfired spectacularly on him, in which I'm delighted. While Bekan is very impressive with it's indoor Airdome and is supposed to be for all of Connaught for all teams to train and play on, it is anything but, Mayo hog the venue a lot, and they claim it as their own. The dogs on the street in Belmullett to cats on the roofs in Ballyhaunis know this. Fair dues to Sligo.

This is like waiting for the white smoke in the Vatican ...
I see the Munster Heino Cup Q-Final is on at 3pm in Dublin, Kerry meant to be on at 6pm. That's scuppered the chances of going to both anyway! Any good rugby pubs in Killarney or more to the point is there any pubs at all near PUR??

I expect a decision before the weekend, hopefully today. It's only fair to players and supporters, I would assume that the logistics of preparing for a match in Cork rather than Killarney impacts on lads work & home lives.

I keep getting emails from Booking.com to cancel accommodation that I have double booked due to this mess. I'm running the Dingle half marathon that morning so it'll be a high stool for me and not PUR.

Wonder if it is PUR how many tickets will go on public sale? Would any?? You'd have to assume very few given season tickets and tickets to clubs..

Even with the restrictions last year a few still went on public sale for the Tyrone SF, hoping for the same for PUR and that you can be quick and lucky. But as you say Royal you can't really make a plan until you know if you have a ticket or not and how close to the actual game will people find that out!
Might have to send an email to the CB, but then are you undermining your slim chances of getting an All Ireland ticket later if we get that far!

The Cork county board chairman said a few weeks ago that Pairc Ui Chaoimh premium ticket holders will be entitled to tickets to the game in Pairc UI Rinn.

Simple response from Kerry (consistent with their position to date) is they will turn up at the appointed ground to play the game.
