The Mayo goalkeeper is directly responsible for saving 2-2. He made 2 great goal bound saves and pulled down 2 points from going over his crossbar. Contrast this with the poor Cork goalkeeper who had a personally humiliating nightmare of a performance. On a human level, I felt sorry for him especially and that young man will need plenty of support to get over such a haunting public experience. Sport and life can be cruel. However, I'm delighted for Mayo. They've had more than enough heartbreak and this backs up their minor win of 3 years ago. Agree totally with this, can be especially tough on young lads with social media who arnt used to the negative views

I won a few quid on them today.
Was there a bit of an Argy Bargy developing towards the tunnel at halftime whistle?

Feel sorry for Anthony Casey, hopefully the cowards on Facebook and Twitter will leave him alone.Kind of typical of the kind of thing that happens to Cork football though;authors of our downfall yet again.

Its the risk you run with short kickouts. Its great if there is no one near you. But all it takes is a slight slip up and you look like a complete fool. Small margins!!!

Mayo came from behind to win the last three under 21 games.
Big change for Mayo

I was surprised to hear that Mayo are the first team to win an All Ireland minor (2013) and repeat it 3 years later with the same age group (2016) since Tyrone in 98 and '01, captained by the late Cormac McAnallen. One would think it would happen more frequently. Possibly an omen for the difficulties that lie ahead for Kerry next year

Congrats to Mayo, they were the better team for the majority of it. Our forwards were more economical but Mayo bossed the middle third and had far more scoring opportunities, especially in the first half when they had some dreadful wides. We were in self destruct mode for sure but couldn't fault the effort of the Cork players. Their reaction to each seemingly fatal setback was remarkable. We were physically dominated around the middle in both the semi and the final, it was actually our football that kept us in both games (2-15 all from play in the semi). A bit of an exaggeration, if not a total myth, that we had a strong, physical, athletic team.

well done to Mayo. Their final 2 goals were clinically taken, the 2nd one in particular was something you don't see everyday.
