As a Corkman may I be the first to (grits teeth) congratulate ye on winning the All-Ireland Senior Football Chammpionship 2014. Yere name is on it, no doubt about it. I am honestly not acting the maggot here, I am always astonished at the readiness of analysts and "experts" to write off Kerry's chances of winning the AI when ye don't have a so-called "strong" team at the start of the year. They did it at the start of this year despite the fact that last year ye came closer to beating Dublin than any other team (ye were leading with a minute of normal time left if memory serves me right). I know Dublin won by a handy score in the end but that flattered them greatly.Sure Kerry have a strong team every year because they have young players who have never been heard of before that arrive on the big stage and play as if they have been there all their lives. It's something genetic that no other footballing county has. Dublin were extremely fortunate to beat ye on the previous two championship meetings. If they get to the final they won't be so lucky again. If Donegal pull off a shock today I would say ye could handle them too. Hate to tell myself "I told you so"

Well done Kerry. Enjoy the celebrations. Donaghy let himself down though. Humble in victory, and all that... AH you're so right, what a bad day he had, your arse! Joe Brolly said production line was closed and we couldn't beat the northern system. It wasn't our choice but eventually we had to betray our natural game to win, and we have now proven that all that chat about our easy All Irelands was rubbish.

Congrats to all, the team, Fitzy & Co, and we musn't forget the Gooch, and the Minors. And I was only a point out in my prediction so congrats to myself the happy fool that I am!!!!!
Great for the younger generation and it shows them what it is to be a Kerryman, or woman! No matter what is put before us, blankets, systems, etc, we always trump them.
Was it that AO'M couldn't walk up the steps? KD lived up to his name and became a leader that won the last few games for us, albeit with a little help. And Marc's delight would cheer anyone up.

But don't embarrass yourself and your team like that. Donaghy has went down in my estimation after that interview.

We are in transition, we didn't win a minor in 20 years, we are a one man team with James, we'll win nothing without gooch and we can't beat the northern teams. Oh it is sweet out in ballsbridge tonight.

Do your talking on the field. You lower yourself and your team by behaving like Donaghy did. Donegal had more reason than most to feck the begrudgers after being disrespected before the Dublin semi. But their players and Jim McG behaved sportingly afterwards.

Kerry have had 5 AI wins in the ~10 years before today and everyone of those have been repeatedly undermined and dismissed as "easy wins", focus was always about how the other team (Mayo/Cork) rather than what Kerry did. When Donegal won their title 2 years ago the common view was that Jim was a genius and nobody could see them being beaten. The lead up to the final demonstrated this also. So Kerry did, do and probably always will have more begrudger's. In saying all that, I didn't see the Donaghy interview, so I won't go into that...at least until I do see it!!! lol Anyways...happy times, not even a dodgy ref could stop us this time!! And fair play to Donegal, never accepted they were beat.

I think it was the fact that Donegal were totally dismissed before the semi, despite having won Sam in 2012 with practically the same team, that was disrespectful. I have to admit, I thought Donegal would win today mainly because they were further down the road than Kerry. I never envisaged them playing as poorly as they did though. But Kerry fully deserved their win.

That had nothing to do with Donegal!!Donegal were up against a team on the way to a five in a row!! A selection of the best 15 outside of Dublin wouldn't have been given a chance either that day!! lol

BJK in my view cost us an AI against Dublin back in 2011 when he went for glory for a point and missed when we were in cruise mode, again yesterday when the game was in the melting pot he went for a very ambitious point and missed
Apologies!!! Unreal performance by the team, Sideline and the panel. BJK sorry for previous post! Half time didn't look good, as a spectacle awful.. But that wasn't down to the kingdom, Brilliance of the management came to the fore outfoxed the "fox". Will he interesting to read the pundits view on this one. Best team won. Best footballing team won the AI

Ard Mhacha is off his head, KD mentioned that Bolly had said that the Kerry production line was closed and then quipped, 'so what do you think of that Joe'. I can't talk on the field myself Ard Mhacha but I can on the forum and I salute KD for giving that wee nipper his answer.
And for anyone who cares to listen, Kieran Whelan also told Brolly off today, saying that 'I have kicked bigger things than you off my boot' and Joe tried to patronise him after as he knew Whelan was on the verge of stuffing him. Joe also tried to belittle the Galway pundit in Kerry v Mayo game and while he wasn't very good, Joe did everything to make him feel uncomfortable.
Brolly also said we would lose because we had 4 weeks to adopt a system that Donegal had perfected over 4 years; well we did Joe, and we were better at it.
I thought Ciaran Whelan was particularly inspiring today and he had done his homework on both semis whereas Brolly was at his usual auld nonsense about Ulster football systems. The God's shone down on us today and we proved that whatever the style, we can compete and no decent GAA spectator will dispute that. We are nothing if we aren't 100% sports people.

Does it really bother you what Brolly says? Joe would have loved the attention, so I wouldn't have even given him the satisfaction of mentioning his name. It seems like it was more about proving Brolly wrong, than winning an All Ireland. I could understand had Donaghy said that at the post match banquet with a few pints in him, rather than after the match. Donegal players nearby, totally dejected after losing a match they trained all year for, and having to listen to that. Come on, show a bit of class and humility.

I haven't posted here in a long time, but Ard mhaca has driven me to it: Kerry won today!!! Get over it, we won by beating Donegal at their own game, which none of you Ulster teams did this year, we did it by sheer determination, hard work, and horrible football at times, so what if BJ Keane kicked the ball off at the end, it is nothing to what we had to put up with from the ref today, we couldn't buy a free!! Kerry won on their own. Ciarraí Abú, and fantastic result from the Minors today after a 20 year hiatus. Mo Ghrá go deó sibh a leadanna!!!

We were written off - the bookies quoted us as no hopers for the second game in succession - the pundits said we did not have a chance. Of course this rankles with the team - they were within a hairs breath of beating Dublin last year and had self belief. Donaghy gave vent to his feelings and Brolly is big enough to delight in it. We can retreat to the kingdom and wait to see the shape of the 2015 panel, safe in the knowledge that the next generation are blooded and ready to take up the mantle. I think there is serious underage talent coming through and am confident we will not wait 20 years for our next minor title either. Loving 37 and already dreaming of 38......

So today I strolled down to the Irish pub in Plymouth resigned to the fact that I would not be in Croke park with my dad, instead I would be a lone voice supporting the kingdom in a pub in Plymouth.... Between the gigs and the reels I managed to get to Kitty O'Hanlons before the end of the minor game and felt a surge of pride watching Jack craft the future for the kingdom. What a man and an impressive display by the minors. So I sat in Kitty's, pint of Guinness in front of me, phone call made to the dad, tactics discussed, knots in the stomach and heart pounding. To be honest we were both heartbroken not to be in Croke Park today but sin a bhfuil. The irony of the fact that my other half had gone shopping while I supped a pint and imagined every possible play, was not lost on me...I savoured those quiet 20 minutes dreaming of the kingdom and allowing myself to be ridiculously sentimental, sure it's part of the Irish condition... It's a lonely place lads sitting in a pub in England knowing you're the only Kerry supporter in the vicinity. So today I watched the game, with, I must admit low expectations, but I don't think I've ever virtually kicked and caught so many balls in my life. My other half returned for the senior game and reprimanded the language I used, but at that point reason had long left me... A flavour of the conversation... "Lorraine that's not very ladylike...Andre I couldn't really give a flying f**k"! Lads I leave veteran, kerry gold and all the legends of the forum to provide insight and an exemplary analysis of the game...suffice to say all I can really say today is that I am so grateful that at 7 years of age I decided to go and watch the kingdom with my dad. The connection we have together thru Kerry football is very important to me. And that day at 7 I began a lifelong obsession and love, that many cannot fathom, but those from Kerry truly understand, the love of the green and gold ❤️ ??. There have been times of sheer joy and heartbreak but today my overwhelming emotion has been pride. What a team, what a manager, and god damn it lads how lucky are we to have the privilege of supporting the kingdom? From across the water tonight I celebrate with ye all Ciarraiabu go deo❤️ ?? *Ok folks one or two Guinness may have been consumed before sending this and emotions are a little high*
