Congrats to all kerry gaa followers both minor and senior. I thought that you were the better teams today. I think that you should all feel very proud of both your teams. I have taken a few snaps of the day and will put them up some time this week on your picts section. Very disappointed for a short while this evening, because we didnt get fully into the game, but that can happen sometimes. We had a great year, so have no real complaints other than disappointment.

Poor McStay is struggling with the result. "Kerry were the better team...JUST ABOUT!" And every free Kerry won was "handy". He's hilariously embarrassing!! lol

I am absolutely delighted.... BUT HELLO Kerry Radio. You have given me a delight down through the years so I said I will give ye every chance.........Billy and Ambrose HELLO? No mention....Cian O Neil you are the hero... We met Donegal in 2012 without a CONDITIONED team. We met the same crowd today with the same MO ... Well Guess who learned more from 2012????Thanks Cian... Did I cry yes . I gave serious tears at the end. An Poc ar Buile in the sun was spiritual.

37. I didn't think I would see that number next to Kerry on the honour's list for a while, yet their it is. 37. We have Mayo to thank for this victory for it was the two encounters with them that turned footballing boys into men and it made them dig deeply and find the mongrel in themselves. For that is what won that game today. In the past we played football rather than the game conditions but today Kerry football changed forever. Our opposition are now faced with the unappetising prospect of facing a team that can kill you with football or strangle you with pressure. I doubted our chances of winning another title after last year's semi-final but this team have proven me wrong. A fit again Gooch and a returning Tommy Walsh will make Kerry a tough prospect next year.

Do you talking on the pitch, which Kerry did today, to be fair. But don't embarrass yourself and your team like that. Donaghy has went down in my estimation after that interview. By posting such a semi literate comment, you should be seriously more embarrassed

Kerry will play in the GOAL charity match Wednesday night at 7 in Austin Stack park. That is sooooo tempting. The missus will be away so I might take the kids out of school and head down from The big smoke

Minutes before the start of the game I suffered a serious nosebleed thus wrecking my plans for the day. I saw the first goal and snippets of the first-half but none of the second-half. Our friends on the Sunday Game have helped me to savour the day but I would really love to see the whole match. If anybody has it please do let me know or post any helpful suggestions. So Kerry can't beat Ulster teams in a final? Kerry can't win tight games? Kerry don't have enough mental hardness to win a physical battle? I can guarantee that the argument will be switched to one of Kerry not being able to beat teams from the six! BJ Keane is an idiot for what he did, that is all I have to say. What Star had to say was simply letting out his own personal frustration in what has been a tough year for him.

For all the people giving out about Donaghy mouthing about Brolly, so what. Can Brolly say whatever he likes and expect nobody to stand up to him. Personally it is not ideal to have a go at pundits publicly and could be seen as un sporting, but if Brolly comes out with rubbish he may need to be called to task every now and again.
Joe Brollys opinion is not written in stone

Congrats to Eamon & his team, Jack & his team & all the players involved.
At the start of the year, I thought our seniors were doomed for years, but like a wounded animal, the management & team licked their wounds and came out fighting for their lives. There is a desperate bond & a serious never say die spirit within the Kerry senior camp. When you ally these with natural skill, will to win, hard work ethic, master tactics, tradition and pride in the geansai, very few opponents can match it. As we now know, no opponent could match it. We're absolutely privelaged to be of Kerry and to able to witness our two great teams, minor & senior, bring honour & glory to our county. In fact, we're blessed in this Kingdom we call Kerry.

I congratulated you earlier, and didn't include anything unsavoury that went on in the match (mainly the Keane incident). I just thought Donaghy's comment was a bit distasteful and unsporting. I'm sure he had his reasons for saying it, but it's just unfortunate that it happened after the biggest day of the year, and on a great day for Kerry. To be honest, it was just a footnote and didn't expect it to cause a controversy or ramble on until now. I can understand emotions running high and yes, Brolly does say some crap, but I just thought it wasn't the time nor the place. Marc O'Se and Fitzmaurice spoke afterwards, and their impeccable behaviour and humility probably showed up Donaghy even more. Anyway, I'll leave it for tonight. Well done again, and enjoy the celebrations.

Well done Kerry. Enjoy the celebrations. Donaghy let himself down though. Humble in victory, and all that... I suppose you missed the part where he left the celebrations and ran under the Cusack stand to console Murphy? Star was, and always has spoke his mind. He's also always played with his heart of his sleeve. We love him everyone else hates him. He said what every Kerry fan was thinking. Our future is bright, as bright as ever. We will never die, what a great day to be in Croker. Minors and Seniors winning and An Poc Ar Buile blaring.

Was it that Donegal's 4 year old, perfected system was so rigid that they couldn't change it when faced with the unexpected? In fairness and as much as I hate to agree with Brolly but our clinical tackling and subsequent dispossession was no where near as effective against Mayo. It was a bit like what Mayo did to Donegal last year!

My instincts are to rise to the bait of the critics but why bother - just keep saying 37,37,37,37 - that number says it all and when the critics spew their barbs we can relax and smile because 37 keeps echoing in our heads. We set the standard and other whine in frustration at our ability to fashion victories. Let us smile and savour their despair and the only questions we ask are when does the number go to 38 - we average three titles a decade or thereabouts and that hurts the Brollys, Mc Stays and Carrs of this world.

What an amazing 24 hours, this one is so, so, so, sooooooooo sweet, this win must rank up there with any of previous generations given where we have come from this year. Couple this with the great minor victory, every Kerry person must be in 7th heaven ........in fact 37th heaven. People will always try to tarnish a win with accusations of this and that and highlight a specific incident or reaction in the game and it's aftermath, but as the great Paidi said you have to know how to win and lose with dignity.
Great credit is due to enveryone involved for the belief, passion, determination and no little skill but pride of place this morning must go to Eamon Fitz and his backroom team who have fashioned victories against all types of opposition and styles. No matter what style we were presented with he devised a plan to overcome each obstacle to reach the holy grail. None of this could be achieved without getting the players to believe they were good enough to master each plan to perfection. I couldn't be more proud of their achievements this year, having seriously doubted our chances after the Cork league game in Tralee, I am more than happy to be proven wrong.
THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT.

Comhgairdeas libh, a remarkable and thoroughly deserved win. Hard luck to Donegal, they fought a brave battle and almost saved the day despite so many things going wrong. It was a noble defeat that must have eased the pain of last year.
In saying that I think it's also one of the keys to Kerry's win, they just wanted it that bit more than Donegal (and Mayo, and certainly Dublin) and that's the highest compliment I can pay.
As others have said, Kerry have now mastered the defensive counter-attack game and with their natural footballers and belief and hunger they will be a massive prospect in the years to come. And then there's the Gooch and Walsh to return, it's some formidable outlook.
On a final note, Donegal's mistakes were down to Kerry pressure. Donegal didn't quite have the football to save this game, given it was so tight. Be interesting to see will Mayo adopt the same game next year, I do think this Mayo team could get over the line at some stage in the next 2 or 3 years.
Anyway enjoy the sweetest of celebrations and look forward to see yis in Tralee/Killarney in the spring, do we owe yis a guard of honour or wha?

OK so this wasn't a classic but it must count as the sweetest victory. Remember where we were 3 games into the league without a win and the Gooch sidelined. Then out of nowhere we pulled out a total destruction of Tyrone in Killarney. So hope dawned and Division one status secured but then we endured a massacre of our own against the rebels.
Into the championship with the big question on all pundits' lips being which county would present itself for slaughter by the invincible Dubs on the third Sunday in September. We were never even considered for this honour and when we has a so-so performance against Clare we were thought to be also-rans for the Munster final. Even after the masterclass in the Pairc we were written off - we won because Cork were so poor and of course we could have learned nothing from it. We should also have lost the Quarter final if we weren't up against a naïve Galway team who couldn't press home their chances. We were sure to be tossed out by Mayo who were the favourites for the "sacrificial lamb" place against the Dubs even after the drawn game it was only a matter of time before Horan's men completed the job. But we stuck to the task set us, didn't whinge about venues or reversals of suspensions and proved that pure steel supports the spine of each Kerry player. And yet we were written off by everyone before this final. Perhaps because the Limerick barnstormer was perhaps rightly overshadowed by Donegal's demolition of Dublin, but we knew that we were now capable of adapting to their game.
And so we did though it was neither comfortable nor beautiful. The goals were the difference as the Donegal bus parked around the D made it very difficult to point. Even though there was a large element of luck about both goals it takes a skilful player to ride that luck and produce a result.
My heart was in my mouth until the final whistle but I feel so privileged being there and being from Kerry. And the minor match was just as good.
A word on Donaghy's post match comments; They may have been said in the heat of the moment but my God it needed to be said! All the Kerry supporters in my section of the lower Cusack cheered him to the rafters. He said nothing disrespectful to his worthy opponents but threw back in Joe Brolly's face one of his more ridiculous statements that the Kerry Production line had ground to a halt. If nothing else the victory proved that we are producing plenty of new talent (and that's not even considering the Minors). Kieran said "what do you say about that, Joe?" - a very reasonable question to which all Joe could reply was a snide comment about Kieran's Tyrone heritage. A humbler man would have admitted that he was wrong.
Well done everyone. Special mention to Kieran O'Leary who must have been disappointed at his level of participation but gave an excellent speech. You have made the winter a much brighter prospect for this Ulster resident.
Roll on 2015. Ciarrai go deo.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion right or wrong. In relation to Kieran Donaghy's comments IMO I thought it was the funniest comment I have ever heard. I did not interpret it as derogatory etc. I think there was sincere sentiment expressed in it, but at the same time a great deal of banter and tongue and cheek. I will judge Donaghy, but not negatively... my judgement of him is thus; 'He was absolutely brilliant yesterday... well done my son and enjoy your winter break...' Personally, the glass is full, no negatives of any type. I've been fortunate enough to experience many Kerry victories but for the first time yesterday... I will admit I cried with pride... couldn't even talk... To the Kerry teams and management... thanks lads... so very, very much! 9 months of sacrifice, putting life on hold etc... walk tall with pride...

What a great day in Croke Park yesterday. Can't express just how happy I was with both results. Fair play to Jack and his backroom team for their work with the Minors, a lovely bunch of lads some of whom will no doubt move on to the Senior stage. What can I say about the Senior match, we all knew it wouldn't be a classic but it was heart in the mouth stuff to the end. Delighted for each and every one of the players and mentors, it was great to see Gooch togged out again. I had the honour of being in the Kerry subs bench for the day and getting to congratulate the players on their way to collect Sam, tears were shed I can tell you, I was even kissed by one of the players but I was so hyper, I cant remember who. To see Ogie Moran and David together pitchside was a very touching father/son moment, I teared up again at that. I havent seen the Sunday Game or any of the commentary so will watch it all over tonight and see it from another perspective. Yesterday should have been my Dad's birthday so as the streamers game from the top of the Hogan I looked to the heavens and wished him happy birtday. He'd have been thrilled to see both teams win. Ciarraí abu.
