Marc for player of the year, he was absolutely outstanding in every game he played this year. I'll never forget that tap away and then block down against Monaghan which stopped a certian goal. That for me was the defining moment of our season

There's 3 Player of the Year awards - Texaco, GPA and All-Stars so it's be nice to see them divided between Marc, Colm and Declan.

I would be surprised if Darragh gets an All Star. I would describe his championship season as reasonable without being outstanding. Although he beat Murphy in the final Murphy was the main reason his team actually got to the final.
Similarly Declan O'Sullivan was the man who dragged us out of the mire against Monaghan and Dublin when our backs were to the wall. I would give him Player of The Year but then again i would have given it to Darragh last year and the media tends to get behind the man who performs on the final.

Marc o se is my player of the year closely followed by Declan.
Knowing the media/selection committees they ll give it to Mark Vaughan or Cluxton!

Goochy gooch will slip in the side door for player of the year me thinks - with Declan second in the voting.....mind you, in my eyes, and with no disrespect to the Master Gooch, Declan is the deserving player this year.

I think Declan deserves it but Gooch will get it. The AI final always has a massive effect on the voting.

Have to base the all star on the all year preformance. Marc and Adien were 100% all year. Killian young player. And depending if Darragh retires or not will determine if he gets one or not.

I don't think Aidan will get an all star this year. Most of the talk before the final regarding him was that he was not the finished article at centre back ditto Tom at full back. He was outstanding in the final but played mainly at wing back. For me we're looking at Marc, Tomás, Killian, Declan, Gooch and maybe Darragh or Star. I would expect 6 at a maximum.

I would expect 6 at most. We should get 7 but we all know what happens with these selections. BTW, I think Seamus Scanlon deserves an All-Star.

It would be fantastic to see the 3 O Se brothers selected on the same all-star team. I don't think it's too remote a possibility as most of the tv journalists have commented on how the 3 boys were in line for MOTM in the latter stages of the champtionship.

Will they base the all stars on one or two games? Last year sean sullivan lost out cause he was subbed and never completed a full game not because he was having a bad day but making room for others....Killain is a cert at some level. Galvin had ahuge year, Gooch Aiden Marc Declan also. Darragh did what he had to and scanlon did not play the full championship. Not saying that he was not great but that I think they will base on the amount of time played...

Team of the year picked by Ewan MacKenna in yesterdays Tribune:
Murphy (Meath) O Se (Kerry) Fay (Meath) Canty (Cork) O Se (Kerry) Gormley (Tyrone) Cahill (Dublin) Whelan (Dublin) Murphy (Cork) Alan Brogan (Dublin) O Sullivan (Kerry) Bray (Meath) Cooper (Kerry) Bradley (Derry) Freeman (Monaghan)
4 Kerry, 3 Meath, 3 Dublin, 2 Cork, 1 Tyrone, 1 Derry, 1 Monaghan.
So Meath who were hammered by Cork in the semi get 1 more award than Cork and only 1 less than Kerry. Strange.

laughable selection to what have transcended into mickie mouse awards due to political and ill informed selections, that selaction is typical of the begrugery that kerry have met in the press in recent weeks, hope they win the three in a row just it ram it up the media's rears.

No star or killian young, what a joke, killian young has to be a definite choice for young player of the year! as for stephen bray from meath, dont know how he's there he had a couple of good games but choked against cork on the big occasion, and when conor gormley was put marking him in the tyrone game he was shackled for the rest of the game. mckenna is just trying to fit in another meath player onto the team.

i have a bad feeling about these all stars this year, i think we are going to be seriously short of what we deserve. we should get 7 but may only get 4 or 5.

I think Dublin deserve more all-stars than Cork. Dublin won Leinster, beat a couple of decent Division 1 teams along the way and lost in the semi-final to the All-Ireland champions by 2 points. Cork lost twice, including one thrashing and beat nobody of note along the way. Dublin have 5 contenders: A Brogan, Whelan, Cahill, Griffin and Cluxton. Meath have 3 contenders: Murphy, Fay and Bray. Cork have 4 contenders: Canty, Murphy, McMahon and O'Connor Sligo, Monaghan, Tyrone and Derry have two contenders each. Kerry have 10 contenders: Murphy, M Ó Sé, A O'Mahony, T Ó Sé, K Young, D Ó Sé, D O'Sullivan, P Galvin, C Cooper, K Donaghy. 4 of which are definites: M Ó Sé, K Young, D O'Sullivan, C Cooper. T Ó Sé and K Donaghy are probables, partly because there's little competition in their position but also because they've been Kerry's next best 2 over the season.

Most newspapers had Kerry at 4 or 5 all stars. killian young surprisingly didn't make few of them.
Just because a player wins young player of the year doesn't mean they will get an all star.
