crokerman, will the game be showin live online Only problem is copyright. AFAIK TG4 hold rights to all club games from County Finals onwards. Because there have been Divisional Teams in the Final for the last few years they haven't shown the final live. I'd suspect they'll be showing this game live on terrestrial TV. . Why would they not show it just because there's a divisional team involved? Only last week they showed the Limerick hurling final, which involved a divisional team.

I would think the reason the kerry county championship has not been on TG4 the last few years is due to the fact that by the time the final takes place, provincial club championship matches are taken place all over the country and these would be deemed more attractive. This year because of Kerry's early exit, the county championship final will be on earlier and therefore more likely to be on Tg4.

The fact that both Gooch and Donaghy are involved should make it very attractive to TG4 and neutrals.

On GAA Beo today TG4 confirmed their 2 games for next Sunday are the Kerry and Galway county football finals. Didn't specifiy if both were live or just 1 of them. Kerry game was above Galway game in the caption though! Galway final is Corofin v Killererin.

most of the bookies have Crokes at 2\5 to win!!!
no value there.
not nice for them to be coming to tralee as such hot favourites to play Stacks.
Was the late John Galvin on the 1994 Stacks team? I believe he was. Would be nice to see a feature on him in the programme on sunday.

is the game going be on the telly or will crokes be broadcasting it Game is live on TG4 but the game will also be streamed over the internet on both the Crokes website and Kerry GAA website for those overseas. Had a few requests from Dromid so might be streaming the Junior Final too.

Mossie.....a wise man once told me that there's always value in a winner.....and my personal opinion is that crokes will win by 6 points plus next sunday! They have a great record in ASP unbeaten in years at senior level! On the injury front obviously kieran leary is out and fionn fitzgerald might play some part but will certainly not start! I have heard from a good source that O'Connell is definitely out along with Bohane!

Ive read all the papers today, crokes tipped in all of them. Bookies have dr crokes at 20/1 to win by 16 points or more. When was the last time a football team won a final by 16 points and only offer 20/1.
Sorry but am i missing something here. Im going to stick my head out and say the austin stacks will win this county final. I know its an obvious statement but i believe kieran donaghy will have a huge game for stacks on sunday. I cant see moloney marking him. And when they do double team him, it will release some of the in form stacks forward.
So here goes, stacks to win by 5 points in high scoring county final, with william kirby winning the midfield battle and unleashing an aerial bombardment on the crokes defence, which looks very dodgy under high ball and has only be tested in one half of foootball, the county semi final.
Ill hold my hand up sunday night if im wrong.

Looking forward to Sunday already, it should be a great occasion. Hopefully we will get 2 good matches. Is the Junior game on at half 1 or 2?

Looking forward to Sunday already, it should be a great occasion. Hopefully we will get 2 good matches. Is the Junior game on at half 1 or 2? 1.30 throw-in. €15 to the stand and €10 to the terrace according to the Kerryman. I dont think it'll be as good a game as many are predicting. I can see a fairly one-sided game, after it settles down 15 minutes or so in. Midfield will be fairly even, Shanahan is capable of putting the shackles on Buckley & Donovan and Kirby will probably cancel each other out. Unless Stacks put two men on Gooch (which they could get away with as Crokes may then opt to give Maloney a bit more protection on Donaghy), I dont think Stacks have a prayer. Stacks full back line isnt great and struggled badly in that area against Dingle and Feale Rangers in 2 of the last 3 championship games. They have to improve in this area to be in with a shout. I think Crokes will win and win with a bit to spare. Dr Crokes 2-14 Austin Stacks 1-10

As a narie I suppose I'd be gunning for the Crokes, but fcuk it, wouldnt mind seeing a town team win it. That said, Gooch, captain of Kerry. A fitting title.

as a Narie I suppose we would never hear the end of it if Stacks won but it must be said it would be geat to see Gooch captain as he has been a great servant of Kerry

Cooper determined to end Crokes’ heartache By Fintan O’Toole Saturday, October 16, 2010 A DECADE ago, he was the teenage tyro. Dr Crokes pitched a 17 year-old in at corner-forward for the 2000 Kerry county final, but Colm Cooper’s nascent talent ensured the selection was a minimal task. The presence of four older brothers – Vince, Mike, Mark and Danny – in the Killarney club’s set-up offered the youngster plenty protection. and he did his bit in helping Dr Crokes pip An Ghaeltacht by a point that day. That county medal was the precursor to a career of national stardom, and since then he hasaccumulated a treasure trove of inter-county accolades. But any notions that Dr Crokes’ victory was a glimpse of what future club riches lay ahead were soon dispelled. The frustrations have piled up since. Three final defeats, a couple of semi-final reversals and an All-Ireland club final loss in 2007 pitched in for good measure. The family dimension means that 2000 success will always be special but Cooper’s yearning for another medal is great. "I remember the whole day in 2000. It was very much family orientated when I had four brothers playing with me. Everyone was rushing around that morning at home, getting gloves and socks and making sure that we had the best of everything. I was just a young fella and when you’re that young you think, ‘this is going to happen every year’. But we lost semi-finals in 2001 and 2002, we never got going in 2003 and in all of the years that we got to the final, we just never got over the line, never managed to do enough." There has been a common thread to their final heartaches as the men from the Iveragh peninsula administered the pain on each occasion. In 2005 South Kerry had three points to spare, in 2006 and 2009 the margin was a single point. A fortnight ago Dr Crokes finally turned the tables but Cooper gives short shrift to talk that the southern division had a hex over those on Lewis Road. "I think there’s been too much made of the South Kerry factor. There was only a kick of the ball in it, anytime we played them. The fact of the matter is that South Kerry are a fantastic team. It’s not like it was a big surprise that they beat us. We ran them as close as we could but for whatever reason, things didn’t run for us. When we did beat them in the semi-final, there was no one running around the field celebrating that we’d finally run. We’d won nothing and we’ve lost too many finals to take anything for granted." For Cooper this year’s county championship campaign has been a novel experience. Since he entered the fray for Kerry in 2002, inter-county duties in late August and September are all he has ever known. This season his All-Ireland interests were terminated at the beginning of August but after that Down dejection, he found refuge in his club. Being absent from Dr Crokes for large chunks of campaigns used to bother him, so he relished this opportunity. "It was very disappointing after the Down game, but coming into the club set-up certainly galvanised me. If you come back in after an All-Ireland, everything seems to be rushed and you’re playing week after week. It’s hard to build up for that. In fairness we’ve had a good period now since the start of August and it’s great to be in with the group. Going to county league games this year isn’t enjoyable because you want to be out there helping. We’re a much happier bunch now." He accepts that solving the club vs county conflict is one of the great imponderables of the GAA. "It is difficult. I can totally understand the county scene. You’re trying to look after guys as best you can. If I was Jack O’Connor sitting here, I’d realise that there’s an element of burnout if you let guys go play county league games and club championship games. It’s done in other counties, in Cork they seem to play their club games regardless of senior championship. This is the way they do it in Kerry. But I’m never happy as a supporter just watching my club playing. Still, this is the environment we live in and we’ve to get on with it." The thought of travelling to Tralee tomorrow to face Austin Stacks excites him. Dr Crokes have a score to settle after losing out to them in the club championship earlier this year. "It’s going to be a ‘classic’ county final, I think. It’s the first time in a while that has happened, so I think it’s going to be a good day for Kerry football. They are going to have ferocious support, they have great followers. On the pitch I expect them to be tough and tenacious. They seem to have big threats inside. Dara Long had a massive day for them the last day and Star (Kieran Donaghy) is capable of doing anything. With Wayne and William doing the work with them, they will be very well prepared. But with the effort that we have put in, we’re hoping that we have done enough and that we’ve learned from our mistakes over the last two years. On Sunday we’ll find out." This story appeared in the printed version of the Irish Examiner Saturday, October 16, 2010 Read more: www.irishexaminer.com/sport/gaa/cooper-determined-to-end-crokes-heartache-133644.html#ixzz12VLNxr1I

what an occasion tommorow promises to be in austin stack park.
The hurling final exceeded expectations and tommorow promises to be another great day out.
A few predicting a handy Crokes victory. Stacks may not be as powerful as previous Stacks teams that have come into co finals but the club has serious tradition in the championship and that can count for something.
Also lets hope the likes of Barry Shanahan, Mike Maloney, Johnny Buckley, Brian Looney put in performances that suggest they could step up to the mark with Kerry next year.
