Looks like hurling it is.. Based on what one poster has “heard”?!!! No fella is picking Kerry hurling over Kerry football. While he was over in America it was only football he was playing I think.

Are there any panel members based in Dublin, over the last few years, whether students or working there? Jack Barry was in college in Dublin when he broke through in 2017 and also in 2018.

Lads any word on Ruairí Murphy ? Made an appearance as a sub for East Kerry at the weekend, recovering from a very serious hamstring injury that has kept him out all year.

Fair point, I would agree , usually a no brainer, here to hoping we see plenty more of him playing the big ball.

He'll get more influence the more games he gets as long as he can stay injury free.

EK seemed to put Rathmore to the sword, no mercy shown looking at the score board, did not see it, but are EK looking to go on a run again this year again. Anyone at it. First half was an evenly matched affair. Rathmore probably started the brighter and lead if I recall rightly 6pts to 3 after the first quarter before David goaled. Both sides tended to play man on man which is refreshing to see which lead to the high scoring encounter. East Kerrys chief scorers in the first half were the 2 Clifford's with Rathmore relying much on John Moynihan and Shane Ryan for there scores. East Kerry went into the break 1-8 to 9 pts. Second half Rathmore came out of the blocks quicker and pretty much it was back and forth on the scoreboard before East Kerry's firepower started to show. A rocket from the impressive Luke Crowley followed not long after by the score of the game with an absolute piledriver from Emmet O'Shea to the top corner from just inside the edge of the box increased East Kerry's lead. Rathmore goaled soon after through I think it was Ciarán Collins but not long after Paudie got in on the act to add to East Kerrys goal tally. Shane Ryan turned his marker to net a fine goal himself but all in all the game was well up at this stage. East Kerrys firepower is something else and it'll take a very good team to beat them. Rathmore are a very decent side and can hold their heads high after going toe to toe with EK and can be a match for any side just don't think they have enough upfront to threaten the so called favourites ahead of them. Cian Gammell, Cian Lynch, Paud O' Leary Daragh Lyne, Donal O' Sullivan and Man of the match Luke Crowley all impressed this observer. Anyone else find it strange that a player can refuse to play for his club all year, then play with his district under the club name?

I'm guessing he's referring to Donal Down from Kilgarvan

Does he have a transfer request in also?

Does he have a transfer request in also? Yeah it doesn't sit well with me either. Also feel sorry for glenflesk as they were with out Crowley and lynch for championship and yet here they are with east Kerry. Also Daniel o brien was injured and he's back now for east Kerry. I know it wasn't his fault he got injured before championship. In my view it should be club first, county second and district third

You would've thought kenmare didn't he play with them a couple years ago when kilgarvan didn't field a team ? Could've been underage .

Is Donal o sullivan legally allowed play with east Kerry. Tried transferring from Kilgarvan to kenmare so hasn’t played game for them all year so is even allowed play with east Kerry then. Also would he have paid his gaa membership to Kilgarvan oh he was seeking that transfer away

Yes but what I’m saying he hasn’t kicked a ball for them and if he isn’t a registered player with kilgarvan he shouldn’t be playing with east Kerry then.

I am not aware of his registration status - James Walsh played for St Kierans & Kerry juniors a few years ago whilst trying to engineer a move away from Knocknagoshel without playing for his club.

Looking like 3 divisional teams straight into qtr. with potentially 2 more coming thru next round.

Did he not go back and play club championship in the end? I believe Donal is taking the year from playing with kilgarvan thinking he can then transfer to Kenmare. Which is a rule in cork but not Kerry.

I believe Stephen Cluxton is in a similar situation, hasn’t played with his club in years. It would be hard to enforce, I couldn’t imagine many in Kilgarvan would be willing to point it out and another team is unlikely to object to him playing in case they would be branded sore losers.

Which is a rule in cork but not Kerry. The rule was 96 weeks in Kerry, I know a friends son didn't play for that period and was then eligible to sign and play for his new club... he trained away and played in challenge games in that period but not competitive ball... I don't know though if that particular 96 week rule still exists

Nope it doesn’t. He can only play with a club within in his parish he is living in. So if he moved parishes he can then move.
