From a purely inter-county point of view, I often feel the club championship at provincial level hinders any up and coming player with regard to getting a chance at county level in the national league. I would love a look at Evan Looney and more so Charlie Keating in the league, if Crokes progress beyond Castlehaven the likelihood of either seeing county ball in spring is very limited. Similarly, I would worry about the freshness of players like Brosnan and Gavin White, both are prone to injury, is an extended period of play with no meaningful break conducive to progression with the county. I know the same argument would be made if Dingle progressed with regard to the Geaney’s and Tom Sullivan. I see no need for Gavin White to play any national league to be honest Let him refresh and look after injuries when Crokes finish up and he can come back into the team for the championship What will we learn about Gavin in the NFL that we dont already know?

What age is Mark O’Shea. Is he a nephew of Pat? nephew of Pat Son of Seanie, that captained Dr Crokes to the all ireland club in 1992 and spent a number of years playing corner back\wing back for the Kerry senior hurlers including the 1993 win over Waterford

I figured he was probably Seanie’s son alright.

Dingle will be absolutely sickened they let this one slip. Goals win games and you need to be clinical which they were not. The scourge of the fisted point really came home to roost.
Crokes got a whiff of it and won the game after a horrendous first 45 mins. Conditions of course to be blame to a significant degree but they were second best and some of their shot taking was woeful.
They won't care now and if they manage to get over Castlehaven, then they will likely have another Munster to look forward to.
That flick by Gavin O'Shea for the first goal was absolutely class, brightened up the whole game.
Dingle - not sure where they go from here as will there ever be as prime an opportunity for them to claim the Bishop Moynihan?

I think Dingle will be back next year. Their biggest problem is they don’t have a lot of strength in depth. They’re not great underage and if they lose one of the Geaneys to injury they are not the same team. Mark O’Shea is Sean’s son Pats nephew he’s about 26 I think . Gavin O’Shea is his first cousin . He would be related to Cian McMahon as well . Cians uncles the o sheas all played for Crokes in the 90s Colm Pádraig Aidan and John they were all good players.
Neil O’Shea one of the subs is another cousin plays in the backs he would be John’s son . Brian the sub keeper is another cousin . Luke O’Shea plays with the Crokes minors he’s another cousin. He’ll be coming through in a few years. No shortage of them there.

Mine would be Gavin Curran Evan Looney Fionn Fitzgerald Tom O’Sullivan Brian Looney Gavin White Tom Leo O’Sullivan Sean O’Connell Darragh Lyne Michael Burns Paul Geaney Philip O’Connor Sean O’Shea David Shaw Dylan Geaney Player of the championship Dylan Geaney On a different note if you are looking for the 3rd best goalkeeper in Kerry to push Shane Murphy for the number 16 jersey surely it’s Gavin Curran Shane Murphy has left the Kerry panel!

With resect, what did this final do to suggest we are a leading GAA football county right now? The Veterans of the forum might be able tally such correlation going back but my guess is that a good county makes a big statement, or not! I don't think you can call Kerry or dismiss Kerry as a leading football county based on what happens in Club/County finals. Kerry won 5 All Irelands in the 2000's but some of those County finals in that decade were some of the poorest and lowest scoring finals in revent memory but it didn't affect Kerrys status at the time as a leading football county. Yip, we're in the 'lies, damned lies an statistics' zone here. In theory the county final, even including the semis, could be without a single county panel member, but in practice you'd say football was healthier the more we'd have and the more we'd be clocking up. Which would you prefer to see? I recall what we now term the day of old when you had a handful of county buckos from each of Stacks and NK - ah yeah, not a normal situation, still it would be great if it was the norm. That a few top teams are relegated isn't great either but then Na Gaeil are showing strong so it's not so bad.
