A bit of discussion has commenced on the local County Championship on other club championship pages, so maybe it is time to create a bespoke thread, dedicated to the ins and outs, fixtures and teams.
Eight Club Sides: Dingle, Dr. Crokes, Spa, Na Gaeil, Templenoe, Milltown/Castlemaine, Rathmore and Kenmare Shamrocks Eight Divisional Teams: East Kerry, South Kerry, West Kerry, Mid Kerry, St. Kierans, St. Brendans and the two North Kerry sides, Shannon and Feale Rangers.
The biggest challengers to East Kerry in previous years divisionally wise has been Mid Kerry, unfortunately, as Milltown/Castlemaine won the Intermediate and not Fossa as most expected, this has in a perverse way strengthened East Kerry by weakening their main rival Mid Kerry's panel.
The strongest club challengers will still be Dingle and Crokes, followed by Mid Kerry and in my opinion St. Brendans, they are at this juncture very much under the radar but this year the clubs of Churchill, the Pats, Ardfert and John Mitchels will be bolstered by the big Tralee guns of Strand Road and Stacks... add in ex Kerry Minor and Clare selector James Costello as manager ticks a hell of a lot of boxes.. the key though is, will there be big club buy in, they could be serious contenders but the harsh reality is East Kerry are still top dogs, sure even starting at number one when picking their strongest XV last year, they simply replaced the outgoing county Rathmore man Shane Ryan with all Ireland winner Brian Kelly....
If North Kerry ever get their ducks in a row, and follow their successful U15, minor and U20 template they may cut waves... in nature rivers eventually meet and get stronger, hopefully the Feale and the Shannon merge to be a force at the top table, but unfortunately, this will not happen anytime soon as there still are high profile delegates actively wanting the return of both sides as was, despite the recent underage success of the joined venture.

Is Mid-Kerry the only Division that has a change to it's composition this year with Miltown gone?

I envisage with both Beaufort and Strand Road exiting the intermediate, will this result in a realignment of buy in to their respective divisional sides.

Beaufort have always given total commitment to Mid Kerry, and I'd expect nothing less from them this year. Not sure how Kerins O’Rahilly’s will be with regards to St Brendans though.

Tremendous entertainment in the football club championships and county senior hurling championship
Hard to get as excited about the senior county championship
Hope I am proven wrong
For the like of Dingle and Dr Crokes, is it a tough ask to keep up their standard right through to the end of the senior county championship having gone all the way to senior club final?

KO’R are rumoured to be all in with St Brendan’s - Tommy Walsh injured but everyone else available - Alan O’Sullivan is taking on the fitness side of things, reckon that will carry a lot of weight in Strand Road - Jack Savage back permanently in Tralee, add in David Moran, Tom Hoare, Barry John, Tomás Kennedy, Darragh O’Connor, Ben Hanafin plus Ardfert, Daithi Griffin, Mitchels , Stacks & Churchill & you could have a very formidable outfit.

They’d be good enough to win player wise but it’s very hard to pull it together in year one

I have been commenting on this on another thread.
There are few clubs around the country that will line out with a midfield like David Moran and Joe O'Connor.

We were having similar conversations about Na Gaeil having Diarmuid O'Connor and Jack Barry but ya, I see you're point.. they collectively have a lot of aces

I would see a lot of Stacks defenders in the team - Nagle, Heinrich, Casey, maybe O’Shea ; midfield Joe O’Connor but the forwards could mostly be Strand Road - Tomás Kennedy, Jack Savage, Tommy Walsh - maybe Barry John - Alan O’Donoghue is still playing good football - Paddy Lane plus Cian Purcell from Stacks - that would omit the likes of Daithi Griffin, Ben Hanafin, Darragh O’Connor, Conor Hayes - can see Stacks with 7 maybe adding in Tansley as keeper, Seán Broderick will be pushing him; Jake Foley will be there or thereabouts. Team: Michael Tansley Darragh McElligott Jack O’Shea Joey Nagle Armin Heinrich Dylan Casey Jake Foley/Ben Hanafin/Earnán Ferris David Moran/Tom Hoare Joe O’Connor Tomás Kennedy Jack Savage Greg Horan /Daithi Griffin Paddy Lane Tommy Walsh Barry J Keane/Cian Purcell There’s a lot of talent there plus Ronan Shanahan,Colin Griffin, Paul O’Sullivan, Odhran Ferris - Ardfert, Mitchels, St Pats, Churchill will undoubtedly have some more.

So it's extra time and penalties in all if needed.

The system is broken, entering into county championship and the club competitions not even finished, what happens down the road when county season reverts to August finish, just so unfair on players and management teams. I won’t mention the war but something has to give.

Will yesterdays draw have consequences on divisional buy in by Stacks and Rangers on St. Brendans and Mid Kerry respectively?

I would think so to an extent - cannot see some of the older Stacks guys committing but Nagle, Heinrich, Casey, O’Connor will be involved to further their inter county careers. Probably similar in MK.
