Funny Royal was in Tralee today doing some last minute bits and bobs and saw it in Shaws so had a look and had the exact same thought. It felt very light alright whatever its made of! Its awful lad..

Kerry's two Saturday night games in Tralee will be covered live by RTE, full schedule of RTE's League coverage announced today is below. Strange that the Kerry v Dublin Saturday night game is not being shown by them. TG4 usually don't have Saturday League games only the Sunday ones, does this mean its not being broadcast at all???
RTÉ Allianz Football League coverage (All live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player):
Saturday 27 January
Kerry v Derry, Austin Stack Park, 5pm
Saturday 3 February
Mayo v Dublin, Hastings Insurance MacHale Park, 7.30pm
Saturday 17 February
Kerry v Mayo, Austin Stack Park, 7.30pm
Saturday 24 February
Tyrone v Mayo, O'Neills Healy Park, 5.15pm
Saturday 2 March
Derry v Dublin, Celtic Park, 5pm
Saturday 16 March
Galway v Dublin, Pearse Stadium, 3.15pm
RTÉ Allianz Hurling League coverage (All live on RTÉ2 and the RTÉ Player):
Saturday 10 February
Cork v Kilkenny, Páirc Uí Chaoimh, 7.30pm
Saturday 9 March
Limerick v Tipperary, TUS Gaelic Grounds, 7.35pm

It seems they have some games at 5 or half 5 so id say the later game is being covered by TG4. Most likely Dublin v Monaghan on the first weekend and Dublin v Kerry on the 24th will be on another channel as they are 7:30 throw ins. See in bold below from the press release when the rights were announced. A new sharing arrangement between RTÉ and TG4 will see an increase in the number of Saturday night free to air Allianz League games broadcast while TG4 will continue to broadcast Sunday afternoon and non-regular round Allianz League games. BBC will also stream up to 10 Allianz League games involving Ulster teams per season.Kerry's two Saturday night games in Tralee will be covered live by RTE, full schedule of RTE's League coverage announced today is below. I'll be at it anyway but given the 7:30pm thrown in, the fact the last train to Kerry leaves Dublin at 7pm I'd assume they don't care too much about most Kerry supporters not being able to attend. At least it should be on tv for people.

It is like Sky Sports saying "To all our account holders it is free to air".

Any word on the captaincy for 2024 lads. Heard a lot of rumours prior to Christmas that Paudie Clifford was to be appointed but yet no announcement with only just over 2 weeks to go before the first round of the National League.

looking at 2018 and 2019 minors, it appears only 1 player from each year(apologies if i missed anybody) has stepped up to senior panel currently - 1 more lad was on it but no longer and i am not sure if a 2nd was.
either way, out of say 50 players, only 2 are on the panel at the moment - thats a poor poor return and that even more worrying is how few of them played 20s in 21/22 - i make it only 4-5 of starting 15 made it to starting 15 each year.
something isnt right and county board needs to really take this seriously as we cannot afford to be losing so many young players - wonder how many of them are still playing full time with their clubs even at adult level?
as a slight "excuse", maybe Covid cost us 2 years of development and similiar has happened elsewhere?

Kerry are playing Cavan this weekend in a challenge match. Season well and truly underway so! Match this weekend, McGrath Cup Friday week and Derry the following Saturday - Hallelujah!! Only issue is I've a bit of a dilemma. Can't realistically make it down for both the Cork and Derry games so debating which one to go to. Obviously League is more important and those Saturday night games in Tralee are usually class but the novelty of a Friday night game between (what you would expect to be) fairly strong Cork and Kerry teams with silverware on the line is enticing. If its anything like two years ago they'd be a cracking crowd and atmosphere at it! Very tempted to go down for that and just settle for watching the Derry game on the box.

I'm in the same predicament Hermit, I opted for the Derry game because Derry are realistically a top 3 team now. I think it'll be a great game to start of the league with a big atmosphere. The McGrath cup is 11.99 on Clubber and really a glorified challenge match.

Delighted for the guy. Brilliantly illustrates to any young fella who doesn't make minor or U20, with hard work, the opportunity is always there to play senior with Kerry and captain the team.

Looks like Paudie will be leading us into battle for 2024, well deserved, he's been a brilliant servant to the Green and Gold since first taking his chance in 2020: Delighted for the guy. Brilliantly illustrates to any young fella who doesn't make minor or U20, with hard work, the opportunity is always there to play senior with Kerry and captain the team. Delighted for Paudie. I think it was his performances with East Kerry in the senior county championships that showed that he had the potential to play for the Kerry seniors.

Cult hero status for sure already and yeah if we do lift the cannister in July you'd pay the entrance fee for the speech alone 😂
I can see people in some pub in 20 years time going, ah sure David was the greatest but Paudie was my favourite.

I remember watching Paudie Clifford playing for East Kerry and thinking that he was brilliant but somewhat of a liability because he was volatile and reacting to stuff. He has eradicated that part of his game and has developed into one of our most influential players. Delighted for him. Hopefully he is the first man up the steps at the end of July

The ultimate proof of Paudie's talent is that he could seamlessly fit into the Kerry team of the 70's/'80s. I could see him and Spillane and Power combining to rip defences apart. A footballer for the ages. There are very, very few you could say that about.

I'm delighted if Paudie is indeed Kerry captain in 2024. He's perfect for the role. He always plays like a flyhalf in rugby or a quarterback in American football. A Kevin de Bruyne type of player if you like your soccer. Where David is the magician, Paudie is mr. dependable, the king of the kickpass. So far in the McGrath cup Kerry have used more kick passes than in previous years. We seem to go back to purist football, kicking and fielding. Personally I think it suits Kerry best. The Geaneys seem to be thriving under it. Paudie would be like a general dispatching kick passes all over. It is exactly what David needs as well, a few other forwards also running into space and scoring. I'm very optimistic for the new year

6 months of hibernation after one of honestly the most gut-wrenching All-Ireland losses of all, I genuinely could barely bring myself to watch any football at all over the last few months.
Lost the final we should have won after winning the semi we should have lost.
Anyway, looking forward to ASP on the 27th.
Hoping lessons have been headed from last year and we can look to play to our strengths again.
Is the Cork game Friday night on Clubber or Youtube does anyone know?
