Kerry must be delighted with the home draw, what squad shows up will be interesting, with Kerry out on the Sunday, short turn around to Tuesday.
I think kerry joint 3rd favourites behind Ul and DCU.

They’ll have a full line out apart from Mike Breen but he should be back for the semi final. I’m not sure if they’ll have too many players starting for Kerry on Sunday, a maximum of 3 I would say so they shouldn’t have too many tired bodies. Maynooth are bound to have a few playing league the weekend anyway. It’ll be a bit of a shock if it’s not a Tralee, NUIG, DCU and UL semi final line up, by far the 4 best teams in it.

Noticeable that the days the games have been moved.
Initially the schedule had 3 quarterfinals on the Monday and 1 on the Tuesday.
Now there are two games on the Tuesday and 2 on the Wednesday.
Ideally it would be all four games on the Wednesday but at least the idiotic notion of having 3 games on the Monday was binned.

Many a Kerryman and woman living in Dublin will be heading towards Abbottstown next Wednesday evening to see DC.

The other 3 colleges who qualified straight to the quarter finals without losing a match are all playing their matches at home.

As far as I know lads if the distance between the two colleges is too large (not sure the exact rule but say 200km) the game is played at a neutral venue.
I believe that is a long standing Sigerson rule.
However, having read the latest rules for the competition (2019/2020 were the only ones I could get my hands on) they seem to indicate home and away games only with a travel grant available for games over 300km.away.

Comprehensive victory, seems like on the right side of the draw, avoiding UL & UCD , now NUIG are not to be under estimated, assuming they beat LETTERKENNY tonight and Breen still to come into play , must have been injured still, or minding him.

Lads I think both mark ryan and mark o shea, would be worth having on the extended kerry panel, to potential good midfielders, both played well today, be it against poor opposition, MOS has been playing well thru out competition.
Ones for the future.

Just read the match report on the examiner webpage - look a like the Kerry Seniors stood out, Moynihan, Horan, Savage and Brosnan.
Good to see Mark Ryan from Rathmore start in the Centre, nice balance and Mike Breen still to come in.
The paper doesn't mention much on Paul O'Shea.. anyone there?
Another player to consistently impress me is young Mackessy, he is covering the slot vacated by Breen but he has always looked comfortable on the ball and impressed me with St. Brendans any time I saw him. He is a huge unit to boot, would I assume hurling is the first grà.
Surely a look wouldn't be out of place.

I saw Mike Breen named on the bench but unused.
Was hoping he'd be involved on Saturday.

MTUK were so on top that all players looked good - in truth it was difficult to comprehend how Maynooth made it this far. Game was over in the first 20 minutes when MTUK, playing against a stiff breeze raced into a strong lead and they were never troubled thereafter.

The semi finals will really reveal the capabilities of players. I’d expect DCU and UL to join NUIG and Tralee in the semi finals. Tralee’s 3 possible opponents are all stacked with inter county players so it will be a much higher level than they’ve operated at in previous games. Still I think Tralee are a very strong side and have a great chance. It’s a great opportunity for a few players who’ve been mentioned to put their hand up for the Kerry panel, strong performances in a Sigerson semi and possible final and you’ll have to be looked at.

NUIG 2-8 to Letterkenny 1-8 in second QF tonight - bad injury to Tommy Conroy (Mayo) apparently

With this condensed season you don't have the recovery time you once had. This is a point that drives me crazy the workload of those young lads. Clifford 70 mins on a heavy pitch Sunday, 70 minutes in Dublin this evening and 70 minutes in Tralee on Sat. Not to mention the travel etc. I honestly don't care who wins the sigerson once we get all our lads through it in one piece.

Tralee going well. Delighted for home college with home management team. Good coaching.
Sounded like Maynooth were poor less county players.
Can really see the difference.
Imagine the games Savage has played and the loading.

I wonder how the Sigerson can be accommodated in the new split season.
Doing away with the likes of the Mcgrath Cup would be a start I suppose. Play Sigerson off in January, start league first weekend in February.
Playing Clifford in 3 Mcgrath cup games has been shown up to be absolute madness now.
