Can someone tell us the easiest way to quote posts and reply when using a mobile? It seems to cause problems for a few - any special trick to it? Thanks Start typing after the last [ br ] It can be tricky when quoting a post which contains quotes of posts Edit: I’m using safari. Might be different if there is a proboards app When you press the quote option, scroll down till you get below [/quote] and type away then

I'm brand new to this forum, a Kerryman exiled up in Mayo since 2003!! 19 years, I want to come home, even Andy Defrain in film Shawshank Redemption, got parole quicker!! So, like an intelligence agent in a county that are fierce rivals to us, you can ask any info, anytime on them, as far as I can ascertain. I come down home every weekend and holiday time since, This forum is great and full of great posts from the best, our own Kerry folk. No substitution for intelligence. Thank you Moderator and hello! To all the Kerry comrades on here. Happy New Year to you all in 2022. Will be interesting to see the new Kerry jersey for 2022. The current insignia is a lame design attacked by a badger with it's claw marks. A truly dreadful design, the worst jersey since the baggy stale induced coloured production of our 2006 attempt. From my own art & design / fashion design background, Galvin's simplistic and retro version of the green and gold a few seasons back, was the best since the Millfield type from the mid 1990's, still Paul cannot claim that design, Chelsea football club and Bayern Munich were using identical shoulder, three stripe types as far back as 2011, Paul was heavily influenced by designs, he did not reinvent the wheel with that lovely Kerry jersey a few season's back. Welcome... You could be a key man yet. Is there a tree near their training ground that you could spy on them and report back I'd never let The Fatherland down Mickmack, I may come in useful yet!!😅 I've been an exciled Kerry agent up there now for a long time. No trees near their amazing airdome in Bekan at Connaught Centre of Excellence,it's a truly magnificent facility, that should be in every province or counties tgat can afford one, it's situated on a bogey plateau, high altitude kind of stuff! They knew what they were doing there building that, as for McHale Park, no trees there neither, I know it well! Might have to go into spy satellite 🛰 or HADS High Altitude Drone Surveillance 🤔

Do all Connacht counties have a right to use that new indoor facility

I was told that Mayo don't use it for training.
It really is a fabulous facility. I had the pleasure of visiting it a couple of years ago when my youngest girls team got to the All Ireland Feile Finals. The Semi final and finals were played in Bekan. (Earlier rounds were all over Galway and Mayo). They have about 5 full sized pitches that are like billiard tables.
We didn't get to use the Dome. I think it was only being built.
It really is in the middle of nowhere. Not too far from the metropolis of Knock.

It's supposed to be for all of the Connaught teams, but to the annoyance of Galway and Roscommon in particular,as they've paid money into it, it seems that Mayo 'hog' the facility all for themselves, they think that they own it. Mayo clubs do train there, I've been involved myself with school teams training in the 'Peripheral Pitches' as they're called, without the airdome, it really isn't anything spectacular, our Centre of Excellence at Currans would be far superior.

I have family up west in the neighbouring counties who're involved in the Gaa. From what they've told me, they've had no problems getting slots in Bacon for training or matches for their teams when they were stuck for pitches. Connaught Gaa have purchased another 20 acres there for more pitches. From being there myself, I'd say thank God for the dome, it sure is a place that's exposed to all of the elements!

Yep, it is very exposed up there alright, as it's mostly a high plateau of bogland, they would have got a lot of that land for almost nothing, as some of it was commonage anyway. Outside if the airdome, the indoor facilities are tight enough. While it's supposed to be open for use for all Connaught counties up there, thats not always the case, distance and proximity are issues mostly from the Galwegians and the Rossies. They are not happy with it's location. Indeed, you can't please everyone. The Connaught President is a Kiltimagh man, only a few miles over the road. Anyway sticking to the thread, Mayo have 3 jersey's. In fact a student's sister that I teach in the school, designed their unusual League of Ireland column style, black and teal alternative jersey. Colour scheme is beautiful. She is only in Primary school and between 7 - 9 years of age, she won the Design your jersey competition outright, which was coordinated by Elvery Sport, a Mayo company. Why can't we do the same thing down here, involve a county wide effort in a 'Design Your Jersey' Competition. Kerry Group and the County Board missed a trick there exposure wise. Still not too late to devise such a competition down here in The Promisedland.

On the topic of GAA jerseys, is there anyone willing to part with one of the Adidas jerseys?
I'd be willing to pay well and could put up a Millfield jersey against it also.
Anyone selling any of the older stuff give me a PM.

No news yet but hopefully it will based off the same template as the new tipp jersey.
/photo/1
And not some horrid generic template like they used for the current one.

There's something about a collar that just improves most jerseys straight away.

One thing I noticed during the preseason games, specifically on the Blue and Lime Green jersey both the hurlers and footballers wore against Limerick was that the Kerry Group Logo was different. It's their newer modern logo. This new logo was also on the white training jerseys yesterday aswell. I wonder if it will be placed on the New home jersey. I understand the logo currently on the jersey was specially designed to suit the Green and Gold so it would be a bit of a change if so.

Maybe that the sponsor has virtually got out of consumer products has something to do with this? I notice it is now the Naas building on Kerry Plc press releases - someone said there nobody left in Prince's Street office? That the GAA audience is no longer the market they sell to might have implications long term, it is more a PR exercise than advertising. Crowd funding may well be the main source of funding of the GAA into the future and it will have an enormous impact with bigger populations having proportionate, or should I say 'disproportionate' advantage. Can anyone see GAA HQ levelling the playing field? Crowd funding could also potentially fly in the face of amateur status, e.g. 'Go Fund Me' projects for individuals might have individual players sponsored! Ah I better shut up in case they take a pop at the messenger.

I'd think that Kerry Co-op would possibly step in anyway if the global conglomerate decided to end it's long standing relationship with Kerry Gaa. They've so much money they don't know what to do with it 😜

I'd be more concerned as to what the underlying arrangement would be and though it is nice that the brand and team name was the same, and it is only us and Limerick that have this, if for different reasons - still it is largely cosmetic. It may be that GAA sponsorship moves towards a 'blended funding' model, e.g. Crowd Funding from individuals and Corporate advertising, and along with other revenue streams, gates, etc. I suppose the elephant in the room is ticket allocation and this would be all part of the master arrangement. Technology is impacting everything and Covid accelerated it big time. Part of me fears for rural clubs with smaller populations though Covid will also arrest rural depopulation to some extent though that may weaken if and when we get on top of eradication, say reduce it to a Flu like ailment. I have been questioned on here for raising what some say are non-GAA issues but then the inevitable happens and then threads start up about them. I had engagement here going back to Eugene McGee's time, when he did a report for GAA HQ re 'on-field' (E.g. Black card) whereas my focus was on off-field issues and which is critical to sport that is both amateur and professional - there is no sport anywhere is the world that is as intriguing as our GAA, nothing even near it! To say it is 'a wonder of the world' wouldn't be an exaggeration.
