How much will it be to attend the game. A tenner to sit by the fire and not having to listen to someone shouting "to kick the fecking thing in long" seems a reasonable deal.

A tenner for a stream of a kickaround between a Kerry B or C team and Limerick? - no thanks.

Being honest these competitions should be free in or donation box. Ah look it would prob be €10 in regardless so for people who can't travel it's a viable option. If the weather holds I'll prob head back, these games are great for the small ones as low numbers crowd wuse and its easily managed.

The sound of “kicking it in long” is always music to my ears. Reminds me of the story of a former Kerry great who was enthusiastically coaching his club side many years after retiring from playing. The story goes a but like this He was on the sideline and one of his u-14 players was on a solo run along the sideline - the coach was seen running along the sideline keeping pace with the young lad shouting and urging him to "kick it in long", "kick it in long", "kick it in long" he roared roared over and over. The player stopped and threw the ball at his coach and told him "you f#*king kick it in long".

I love the option of streaming it for a tenner. I don't get to go to a lot of Mc Grath Cup games. I am lucky enough to be able to sneak off to almost every other game during the year.
It's a great option to have. Nobody is making me subscribe to it.
I don't expect that the service provider will be retiring as a millionaire because of a pre season competition

The sound of “kicking it in long” is always music to my ears. Ah when Auld Vet isn't Con Houlihaning it he's stoking the memory - Kerry and Offaly on TV last few days, Timmy 'Horse' Kennelly 'hoofing it in long', then wan Jack O'Shea plucks it from the skies - pure class! Joeseph Brolly also put in a good show on Virgin tonight, I take Joe pipeline/kiss blower Umbrelly as I find him and he ain't such a bad Jack Russel, but I think I have his number, while he is a good lawyer but is it me or is his enemy within that he just looks for holes in an argument? Anyway, love or loathe, it is worth a watch. BTW the interviewer was a thunderin' hoor - he put to our Seosamh 'do you think the (GAA?) powers that be were happy when RTE said slainte Seosamh?' Didn't bat an eyelid, ala he who blinks first loses the court case and wee Josie held court alright! Anyway I don't know what it's like elsewhere but Donegal is very quiet right now, people are (rightly) keeping to themselves, practicing safe distancing even while walking the dogs in open spaces, etc. Ah while that is so so sad, anything that keeps us ALL safe is only good all 'round. Happy 2022 to all.

If the options are 1) not watch the game, or 2) pay a tenner and watch the game
Sure it’s a steal at a tenner! What would it cost you to drive to and from, etc. Have a cup of tea and a bit of lunch watching the match from home for a tenner sounds like a dream set up for those who can’t physically make it:
Get a few friends round if needs be and have a few drinks if you’re that way inclined

Hah that's a good one!
Well I'm looking forward to staying around home an extra few days to take in Wednesday's game. Assuming King Tony isn't about to pull the plug
Whatever the ticket costs it will be a small price to pay for being at a Kerry game again, its been a long 5 months since the Tyrone debacle

Well thats just brilliant. After watching it beside the fire, i will be anxiously waited your eye witness report. Veteran sets the benchmark but you are no slouch either with the words. I suspect you are from the Listowel side of Crotta. Bryan McMahons legacy lives on. A forum holds its breath.

Mickmack in case it's not blindingly obvious already my knowledge of our great game is woeful. You might as well ask a five year old for his impressions of a game rather than this animal on the terrace screaming hit the ball in high. But I'll do my best.

MATCH OFF - Sunday's McGrath Cup Football Group A match between Waterford and Clare has been postponed. Waterford are unable to field a team due to a number of Covid cases and close contacts as well as a number of injuries. t.co/8wGkFueEh8. Above is from Munster Gaa Twitter, The upcoming McGrath Cup matches are in real danger of falling victim to the current wave of Covid imo. I wouldn't be buying any ticket or stream until a half an hour before throw in. 😜

I disagree, figures are alarming, 20K+ registered but at least the same amount positive on antigen tests but not required to do official PCR as either in 3rd level, or PP School etc or already a close contact and are currently self isolating.
Or just simply can't get an appointment
I fear we may have games behind closed doors again.

They reckon there's a cabinet meeting on Tuesday so we could see the Cork fella at the podium again for the 6-1 news that evening. So I'd be holding off making plans just yet

Ah I'm not being depressing, just realistic - you're home home you know the score in NK. A lot of pubs and business are struggling staff wise. I know looking put my window every second house is isolating with only a few adults depending on work status bring officially tested, put it this way what point is there in a local farmer getting a PCR to become a stat?
If the true figures were known there would be national panic.
But at least we have ball coming hopefully on Wednesday... the year starts here..

I think 2022 will be ok on the GAA playing front...
Here is my take....
January 2022 is a different world to January 2021 thanks to two things: the availability of vaccine and the update of the by Irish people.
If omicrom was around in January 2021 we would have been in a real bad place.
Omicrom is just a mild cold for those who are vaccinated
If there are 20000 certified pcr cases a day there are probably 100000 with omicron..... by the spring the anti bodies should be in most people...herd immunity is happening fast now but its not a huge deal thanks to vaccination.

Agree fully - just look at below. 7 day case average continues to grow at 10% a day but hospitalisation levels drop today to 656 Compared to last Jan 656 in hospital vs 1733 - 1077 lower 15,217 7 day cases vs 5440 - 9777 higher

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of a team is put out Wednesday. Jack doesn’t have a huge amount of new, young players inside there so I think we will see a number of experienced players line out. I’m expecting something very close to this:
1. Shane Murphy 2. Tadhg Morley 3. Jason Foley 4. Gavin Crowley 5. Mike Breen 6. Dan O’Donoghue 7. Graham O’Sullivan 8. Paul O’Shea 9. Adrian Spillane 10. Stephen O’Brien 11. Jack Savage 12. Michael Burns 13. Tony Brosnan/Killian Spillane 14. David Shaw 15. Dara Roche

Herd immunity is not happening. Many people are getting covid multiple times. Thankfully, at the moment, most people are not suffering serious symptoms but many will still suffer from long covid.
