As I said earlier in this thread, crotta would struggle if Nolan picked up a knock, and he was substituted in the 35th minute, they rallied well, but here's hoping it's a minor knock, he's still their talisman.
Good heart by Causeway in the first game, but Ballyduffs class shined through, it will be a massive game next weekend, particularly if Nolan is injured.

ya shane nolan is still one of crotta s main go to men ,moreso with barry mahony missing.i think crotta and ballyduff will run their benches next weekend to give gametime to players in a match where their is nothing at stake

Abbeydorney had a big win over Parnells. Parnells despite losing 2 from 2 are in the preliminary quarter-finals! Lixnaw and Abbeydorney are both though to the quarter-finals rendering their round 3 game a complete dead rubber.

Parnells really brought back down to earth this evening! Shows how much of a gap there still is.

Yeah the game is a dead rubber so. A shame because with something on the line this would've been a great tie.

From the opening few games Crotta and Ballyduff look the most impressive so far.
While you can't look much into the result with Parnells I think Abbeydorney could be a team to watch this year. Ballyheigue also will have good momentum behind them after two wins.

The Crokes must have battled hard tonight goin down 1.22 to 1.14 to Kilmoyley Yes they did Were also without Conor O'Hare who is a fine player, if they had him, the margin would have been tighter again The home venue was worth a few scores to Crokes, it came about through the date change of the match. The County Board should consider in 2025 that Dr Crokes get home advantage for championship matches It brings senior county championship hurling to an East Kerry venue, promotes hurling in East Kerry and it is a novel venue for County senior Championship hurling. Of course , Dr Crokes are up against it to stay senior but one has to admire their tenacity and ambition to play there The selection they had last night was half home grown Killarney\East Kerry players and half hurling people from other counties who have come to reside in the Killarney\East Kerry region. Tom Doyle, Nathaniel Doncel, the O'Connors are all fine young hurlers from killarney, east kerry, Mike Lenehan also Great to see Seanie O'Shea in the Crokes backroom team. A great Crokes dual man and he was a great servant of the Kerry senior hurlers, marked Paul Flynn when Kerry bt waterford in 1993 in the Munster hurling championship. He also had a great battle with the late great Teddy McCarthy of Cork in 1990 in Tralee when Kerry pushed Cork for long stages in that encounter However, Dr Crokes need to get a better flow of underage teams, at the moment they only field at kids and under 13 level. They do have some players playing under 15 and minor with Firies so they should get some through from that but really need more than that This is Firies 2nd year with a minor team so it will be interesting to see where these players go in adult - will they all go to Crokes or will it be just those with Crokes connections go to adult with Crokes. Firies are probably still a bit off having their own adult team Finally, well done to Dr Crokes and the board for facilitating the change of fixture at such short notice. A very sad funeral in Kilmoyley at the weekend

I was at the Crotta - Ballyduff game, fodder game all be told but it shows Ballyduffs depth in their squad. I'm a Crotta man so I hope and pray for another Neilus Flynn but Ballyduff to me have the biggest threat with their deep squad and potentially the Boyles to come back into it.

Intermediate championship starting tomorrow night. I see it’s split in group A and B. Is it the same format as the senior champ?

Current bookmakers odds
Ballyduff - 3/1 Lixnaw - 4/1 Kilmoyley - 4/1 Crotta O'Neills - 9/2 Causeway - 9/2 Abbeydorney - 6/1 Ballyheigue - 12/1 St. Brendans - 20/1 Tralee Parnells - 150/1 Dr Crokes - 150/1
Crotta gone from 5/2 favourites a few weeks ago to 9/2 following the loss to Ballyduff with both teams resting their best players, I might throw a few quid on the defending champions.

Hard to see Lixnaw as joint second favourites on form and with Shane Conway injured but hopefully he returns soon. Ballyduff and Crotta most likely

Good yo see Rathmore have made the step up to Intermediate this year. Not a lot of information on Intermediate & Junior hurling championships. It seems strange that so many teams have pulled their B team out of the Intermediate this year (or is there a Group C that is the 3rd secret of Fatima?). Causeway, Kilmoyley, Ballyduff (Ladys Walk) & Crotta are all missing. Contrast that with St. Brendans, who are again fielding a 3rd team in the Junior championship. They are joined there by Duagh, Parnells B & Crokes B.

This Friday sees the first 2 teams to exit the senior hurling championship. It's hard to see Dr Crokes break their duck against Causeway. For Tralee Parnells, I'd hope that they can put up a good challenge against a weakened St. Brendans. In a way, it's a pity that Dr Crokes & Tralee Parnells didn't play each other this year, as it would have been the best shot at a senior championship win for both teams.

If there's to be a surprise I think it could be Parnells against Ardfert. It's being played in Abbeydorney as well so this might suit Parnells.

He plays his football with Kerins O'Rahillys and hurling with Lixnaw, ditto his brother Daragh. Need to get Conor OKeefe back from injury - apparently he is close You can make a case for the top 6 teams in the betting really. Abbeydorney a dark horse. It is wide open Oisin Mansell and Michael Leary are in flying form for Abbeydorney. Conor Bohane is a good additon in goals too I still side towards Ballyduff and Crotta as the likely winners and finalists if they avoid each other at semi final stage

Abbeydorney v St Brendans - Fri. 12th @ 7pm Ballyduff v Lixnaw - Sat. 13th @ 2pm Ballyheigue v Crotta - Sun. 14th @1.30pm Kilmoyley v Causeway - Sun. 14th @3.30pm Tentative votes to Ballyduff. Crotta. Kilmoyley and O Dorney Yeah, looks like Crotta and Abbeydorney are nailed on. Lixnaw with Conway back will be interesting but Ballyduff will have too much I reckon. I also wouldn't be shocked if Causeway upset the odds against Kilmoyley.

lousy scheduling for Lixnaw v Ballyduff
2pm on saturday on the same Kerry play Armagh in Croke Park. Both clubs are big into football (Lixnaw via Finuge)
I am not sure if there was another option with the rush to get the hurling championship played
Will be some good action in the QFs
