Hopefully the final is a good game. If both play to their potential it's a very hard one to call. I'd slightly tip Crotta to get over the line. They've knocked a lot of the big guns along the way and think that should stand to them. Although I wouldn't rule out a draw.

Wonderful colour around the competing parishes as usual. Invariably, they put their football counterparts to shame in that regard. I suppose the fact that they're always clubs as opposed to divisional sides is a factor here.
Here's hoping the weather is someway favourable at least.

Crotta to win by 5 if they play to their best, anything less and lixnaw could scrape home

I'd expect Crotta with Conway and Trant both home from the states to have enough today and end the famine!
Darragh Conway is a player to watch today! Son of Mike and nephew of Shane

If it's a draw when would the replay be, 2 weeks time?

After last Sunday I just couldn't face the idea of changing the flights and paying that much money to sit through another final we could lose. So I'll have it on the phone in the airport.
Hope it's a great occasion, as the county final always is, praying for Crotta to end of bitter famine in the knowledge I'll feel sick if they do it and I'm not there to head to Parker's after.
There won't be a wind turbine inspected in the parish tonight if we do.
Crotta Abu!!!!

Great very long overdue win for Crotta.
It's hard to argue that Shane Nolan wouldn't have something to add to the Kerry hurlers had he still been on the panel. Barry Mahony is the same.

Great scenes at fulltime in ASP today. Crotta sure made hard work of it though. Took control after the 1st quarter and dominated their opponents everywhere but on the scoreboard. A total of around 20 wides threatened to derail them but such was their superiority overall that Lixnaw couldn't take advantage. They could have won this one by 10 points but Crotta won't care about that now.
Cillian Trant motm for me, who got it on the TV?

Glory days, yes huge amount of wides that in other times would have cost us badly but today they decided no matter what this Famine was ending!!
Lixnaw aided us by panicking and going for majors far too early, but feck em!!!!!
We've done it on merit, knocked out the last two champions - via penalties for Causeway - then beat our greatest foes in the decider. Doesn't get any sweeter than that.
Hoping now that Crotta can reassert itself as a force and push on to be picking up titles with much more regularity. But even if it's another 55 years what harm after a day of days like this.
A bittersweet moment to be watching Bill Keane lift the trophy in the terrace bar in Terminal One (fair play to them for sticking it on). Bad week to lose an All Ireland and miss out on that but sure they'll be plenty of time to pop into Parker's for a celebratory pint before the summer ends.
I hear Sonny Egan did all five verses of Garrynagore on the podium 🤣 deserves to see this day after all the years he devoted trying to get young fellas like me involved. And as for the great Shane Nolan, not his most influential game, but he was the reason we got there against Kilmoyley and is there any man in Kerry more deserving of a county medal??
Move over Vegas you'll have nothing on Kilflynn tonight. Oh to be there by the sweet Shannow.
Ah well Prague has just witnessed the first toast ever given to a victorious Crotta side.
As I rambled out one morning at the clearing of the dawn, To hear the blackbirds merry song all around sweet Crotta lawn, And to view the wooded uplands where the stately hawthorns grow, Sure its little I thought I would ever leave sweet smiling Garrynagore

A huge congrats to crotta, not only is the monkey off the back, but the whole bloody zoo.Crotta were suoerior to lixnaw for long stretches of this match, barr the first 15 minutes when lixnaw started brightly.Crotta were wastefull , in attack and should have been 10 points up coming down the home straight, and with lixnaw sensing been only 2 to 3 points in arrears were probing for the goal . it never came due to crotta ,s belief that this was their day.No county final victory has been celebrated with as much enthuaism by the long suffering crotta supporters. In the last 6 years crotta have contested 7 championship finals minor ,u21 and senior winning 6 out of the 7.This is due to massive work under age in the last 15 years.Lixnaw have won and lost finals in recent years, they will regroup and be back again

one of the best attended county hurling finals in recent times
the derby aspect of Lixnaw v Crotta and the sense that Crotta were about to do something special and end a 55 year famine really brought a crowd in
it a pity the hurling wasnt of a higher quality on national television but still a great occasion. The county senior hurling final in kerry remains a great sporting event and long may it last
Well done to Crotta, fully deserved on the day and huge work done at under age level paying off
The Crotta goalie and backs were immense and under no circumstances were they going to leave Lixnaw through for a goal when the came looking for one in closing stages. The half back line of Cillian Trant, Barry Mahony and Rory Mahony were superb all through
This Crotta team may win another county title before too long, aside from Sean Weir and Shane Nolan, the team is in early to mid twenties

Ardfert in the 2000s had similar underage success but only managed one senior title. Football more than likely had an effect on that as well.

A lot of Crotta hurlers are dual men with Senans St Brendans would expected more than one senior title in hurling alrite out of that crop St Brendans are coming strong again though, after contesting the last 3 minor hurling finals winning 2 I can see the senior hurling titles going Crotta, Ballyduff, St Brendans direction in the short to medium term

I missed the match due to work in Chicago... but I was getting blow by blow accounts from the family back home. I was so proud of them and especially my brother who is involved with the management this year. Brought me back to the time I won U14 county championship with them many moons ago. Tears were shed in Chicago on Sunday morning..
