The streaming of games is a huge advantage to people everywhere. Thing of the future In think. There will be a fear that, antebellum, the fans won't go to games and substitute the day out for an 85 minute event in front of a laptop. People probably said the same thing when live TV coverage came in. In fact, you couldn't watch a Minster Final live until the not too distant past. They were afraid no one would go. It all works out in the end.

I wonder was Derry Crowley, father of Johnny, on that Killarney 1969 hurling team? I think Derry was a hurler too. Yes Derry is Johnny's Dad. Derry played hurling well into his 40s with St Pats East Kerry, was fond of the hurling

In fairness to 247 tv, they did refund a friend of mine after he missed the first half of a game due to the option to connect to the stream not being available.

Price confirmation! The two hurling finals together this weekend are priced at €10. The County Football final is also priced at €10. It was never suggested or hinted at that there would be a price hike. It was announced last week that the semi final and final for the football would be €10. This will include the full live action from the football final, commentary from Gary & Sean and interviews with plenty of special guests. It is hoped that the stream for the football will begin 1 hour before throw in with a pre match build up. All in all good value for €10 😉 tremendous value for the hurling at the weekend, well done to all involved

Everything the Kerry Chairperson does is about making money, he is business minded not developmental. This year and next will test the business ego driven.

So will EK defend their title.
They are stronger than last year with the addition of Rathmore and in the semi final v Brendans they were a very unified team.
They are not afraid to win ugly either as they showed in the manner that they prevented Brendans scoring goals from runners coming through the middle.
Mid Kerrys strength in depth won the day v Crokes.
That game was essentially a shootout between two teams that went at it from the start with little thought about closing down the opposition
Sundays final could be a very different sort of game and how EK go about it will dicate that.
I hope its another open attacking game like the Crokes v Mid Kerry semi final.
But i doubt it will be like that.

Are Crowley, Breen and Kilkenny in the Kerry squad? After the cricket score they conceded against Crokes and the ease with which EK dismantled the defence tonight, one hopes not......

Very disappointing match. EK defense is excellent and Mid Kerry were reduced to taking shots that werent on. Davids goal was an exceptional effort.
The stream went down and the Kerry website seemed to be down at the same time, at least it was for me.

David Clifford given man of the match. Trademark unbelievable goal by him tonight.

David Clifford given man of the match. Trademark unbelievable goal by him tonight. David certainly had his scoring radar on tonight which was great to see - Ronan Buckley was outstanding throughout and would have pushed David hard for man of the match.

Disappointing game with the Clifford goal being the highlight by far. Mid Kerry just did not have the forwards to threaten. Carey was busy and looked a threat but the rest were pretty anonymous. East Kerry have an abundance of quality and it was just a matter of when the class would come through.
Unless there are changes to the structure, they are likely to dominate for a long time.

To be fair to Kilkenny it was excellent on P Clifford - Mike Breen and Peter Crowley were well beating tonight. I think East Kerry had a much better collective system to their defense while Mid Kerry were very much man on man as they have been all championship hence the big scores. Mid Kerry went for a shootout but unfortunately for them East Kerry completely shut down their forwards at the other end

Interesting first half but once David unleashed his Saturday night special one felt that Mid-Kerry’s profligacy in the fist half might could cost them dearly. Any doubt about that impression was removed once Dara Roche emulated David’s ferocity . Both goals were smartly created . Dara Moynihan accelerated into traffic but was deft enough to deliver accurately to David who swiveled abruptly and struck with the menace of a black mamba, with his right foot be it noted. The second one was created by brother Paudie who adroitly parted to Dara . Dare delivered it home venomously. See you in my dreams.
As usual , the East Kerry forwards will get the plaudits but this East Kerry defensive setup is fairly miserly. Chris and Dan O’Donoghue are on the unheralded side of the market , but ,without being spectacular , they make their opponents work overtime for their supper. Ronan Buckley, at midfield, looks a bit cumbersome at times but is well able to traverse the open spaces.
It is a shame that Liam Kearney is still out . He was one of their principals last year and looked like a man who could be county level. I wonder what is the nature of his injury and is there any sign of a return?
I think David’s haul was 1-4. Not bad I suppose! Paudie seemed to have a good battle with Pa Kilkenny. At county level he would need to deliver the ball in quicker.
Mid-Kerry were well in the game at half time and indeed would have been more comfortable if they had not been so wasteful. As already stated the two quick goals after the break broke them. David Mangan was one of the best players on the field. Is he eligible for the u20 grade this year.? I certainly would get him into the senior panel . He has the makings of a top defender in a year or so. We do not have too many prospects in defense. Peter Crowley was prominent at times and may still have something to offer but not in the half back line. Pa Kilkenny also did fairly well but can be loose and impulsive.
I have always been a big fan of Liam Carey . Extremely skilled and usually very busy . Seemed to have had too much to do tonight with Gavin O’Grady carrying an injury per commentator and Darren making no contribution. Not sure if he is with the senior panel.
I would not worry about the dominance of East Kerry . Nothing is permanent. A counterbalance to their current superiority is that we get to see plenty of the kid. Anybody object to that!

Every single score, substitution etc was tweeted They were only tweeted on the tweets and replies bar though so a lot of people would not have copped on to that. I have also seen where they have blocked a few people on Twitter who gave out about the stream not working. That’s not the way to treat genuine supporters who were understandably frustrated with the failure of the live stream. I also paid the €10 and my stream was a disaster so I had to fall back on Radio Kerry, what would we do without them, they provide such a great service and it was lovely to hear Ambrose again. Well done to East Kerry and commiserations to Mid Kerry

Every tweet started with @eastkerrygaa so you'd have had to go to the Tweets & replies section to find them. Would only appear in your timeline if you follow @eastkerrygaa as well.

Well done to the County Board on running their competitions off so well and the streaming service was excellent again tonight. The Club and Divisional championship window has flown by with just one weekend to go before inter county resumes. On the game itself East Kerry were worthy winners, congratulations to them. But I do think a review of the championship is due.The Divisional team is very lopsided. As it stands East Kerry start next year with 4 Intermediate clubs alone(maybe even 5 if Fossa are successful and Spa don't win intermediate).Kenmare District had to disband,West Kerry have only 1 Intermediate club and Shannon Rangers/Feale Rangers can't raise a gallop. While the concept of Divisional team has its full merits its no coincidence that the 2 teams in the final are based in the larger population areas(hinterland of large urban areas) ,not forgetting that the other semi finalist(St Brendans) are also outskirts Tralee. The County population demographics certainly favour these divisions plus the urban clubs.Maybe a return to 12 senior clubs will give it a more balanced look with possibly the likes of Spa ,Rathmore and Kilcummin stepping up.On paper East Kerry would still be a formidable team with the other clubs involved.
