I couldn’t stand the sight of the f*cker.
For a non Kerry player, that’s the highest complement that I could pay

Mccarthy was a beast most important player for dublin of last 13 years or so. He was always the player I would've wanted if there was a transfer market. Not the most talented on that team but always the most driven !

Agree!Connolly had way more talent but James the ultimate team player. Also James carried himself with class off the field. The same cant be said of connolly who was found guilty twice of unprovoked assaults.

Motions for county convention issued to clubs today. Looking at 2 up 4 down for county leagues next year and possibly an earlier start of the first week in March. Were these the only 2 circulated? ions Relating to Fixtures Leagues Motion 1 From 2026, the Credit Union County Senior Football League consist of 10 team divisions. To achieve this, the following will apply for the 2025 Credit Union County Senior Football Leagues: • In Divisions 1 to 5 inclusive, 4 teams will be relegated. • In Divisions 2 to 6 inclusive, 2 teams will be promoted. In 2026, the leagues will revert to the current promotion and relegation process whereby 3 teams will be promoted and relegated from each division. (Note promotion does not apply to division 1 and relegation will not apply to lowest division) (Co. Executive) Motion 2 That the 2025 County Football League commence 3 weeks earlier at the start of March and finish at the same dates as 2024 County league. This is to avoid fixture congestion and promote player welfare. (Gniomh Go Leith) Motion 3 That Division 6, Senior Co League, be operated as a full division on its own without any crossover to a Phase 2. (Lios an Phúca) Championship Motion 4 The purpose of this motion is to allow dual players play Football and Hurling at the highest level in the County. That the CCC would consider avoiding the fixing of Hurling and Football championship matches on the same weekend, where there are dual players involved. In addition, the CCC should endeavour to ensure that there is a gap of at least a week between such championship Fixtures (Na Gaeil) Minor Age-Grade Motion 5 That the age of Minor be increased to 18 without decoupling (Players U-18 and over 17 can play both Minor & Adult competitions). All other age grades to be changed to even ages and no adult competitions can be held up as a result of playing an U-18 player. (Cill Airne an Leigiun) Hurling Motion 6 From 2026, the Kerry County Intermediate hurling championship shall be confined to first teams only, with the winners promoted to the Senior hurling championship for the following year. The resulting structure of the 2027 Senior Hurling Championship to be decided by the County CCC in consultation with the hurling clubs in Kerry. As this will increase the status of the Intermediate Championship, a new trophy should be commissioned. Na Pairnéalaigh Thrá Li Motion 7 From 2026, that the County Intermediate Hurling Championship final be confined to top 2 teams of a grading competition (as per Derry model) played on a league basis (for 1st teams only). The top 2 teams will contest the final – all remaining teams will contest the Junior Hurling Championship. Na Pairnéalaigh Thrá Li Motion 8 A new ‘B team’ non- championship competition be commenced starting in 2025 for clubs that have more than one Senior Hurling team, where all players outside of a named championship first 15 are allowed to play even if they have already played with their club’s 1st team in championship hurling in the same year. The structure and timing of this competition to be decided in conjunction with hurling clubs. Na Pairnéalaigh Thrá Li Motion 9 That a shield competition be introduced a the U21 hurling age grade with 13-a-side allowed. Na Pairnéalaigh Thrá Li Motion 10 That an 11-side Div 3 County Hurling League competition be introduced. Na Pairnéalaigh Thrá Li

This would result in Division 1-7 of ten teams if these same teams are divided. Division 8 would be made up of the teams who can’t get out Division 5 this year so? However many teams that would be. St Michael’s/Foilmore are in the strange position that they have a team in Division 5 but also a team in Division 6 so however that would work out after this shake up. I do like the idea of 2 less games for teams, clubs played 11 games in 14 weeks last week which was too much. Teams shouldn’t be playing on. And Holiday weekend’s if it can be avoided

May I ask what the feelings are on motion 5, for me, its no brainer as club are feeling the drop off from 18+ as no ball is there for 70% of the players stepping up.
Minor Age-Grade
That the age of Minor be increased to 18 without decoupling (Players U-18 and over 17 can play both Minor & Adult competitions). All other age grades to be changed to even ages and no adult competitions can be held up as a result of playing an U-18 player.

Fixtures are tough enough to organise with the split season without games being called off cause a couple of u17s have a minor game the same weekend as a senior game

Having Bank Holiday weekends off is a good suggestion. Last year there were games on 3 bank holidays weekends.

Example: 12 teams in division 2. 2 teams get promoted. 10 teams left. 4 relegated into division 2. 14 teams left. 4 teams relegated to Div 3. 10 teams left. I do think 3 up, 3 down in a 10 team league is almost too much. A playoff between the 3rd team in division 2 and the 3rd bottom team in division 1 might suffice

I suppose what I'm asking is, are clubs in favour of staying on the odd ages or returning to even ages?

If 4 teams are relegated from Div 1 to Div 2, and 2 are promoted from Div 2 to Div 1 and Div 3 to Div 2, then 6 must be relegated from Div 2 to Div 3 to leave 10 in Div 2 for 2026. And it gets worse as you go down the divisions...
Sums: 12 in Div 2 at end of 2025 campaign, minus 2 who get promoted = 10; plus 4 relegated from Div 1 = 14; plus 2 promoted from Div 3 = 16.
So six must go to Div 3 to allow 10 to remain in Div 2.
For Div 3, 12 teams, plus 6 coming from Div 2 plus 2 from Division 4, minus 2 promoted = 18, so 8 must be relegated.
For Div 4, 12 teams, 8 from Div 3 plus 2 from Div 5, minus 2 promoted = 20, so teams that finish in Div 4 will all move to Div 5.
Far easier to just use the league standings at the end of 2025...top two promoted from each division and count your way down the tables, 10 teams per division. You will end up at the same place.
Might be better to promote just one team from each division at the end of 2025 and let the league table determine your division for 2026.
Maybe I'm getting this all wrong, but the motion as written cannot pass as it cannot be implemented...must be ruled out of order.
Some of the lads who spent more time at school might help me see the light. Please.

I see Con O Callaghan got his card rescinded as it was nt conclusive evidence.I saw the footage and one cant say for sure he hit anyone. However I hate theatrics and diving and especially from Kerry players but Devon Burns let himself down very badly with his in yourface antics and then going down like he was shot.I had spoken highly of Burns but that was very disappointing.

Clubber are charging €15 for the Crokes match today. That sounds extraordinarily dear. These boys seem to be getting greedy and might well price themselves out of the market.

They'd want to be upping the quality at least before charging that sort of money. The audio in particular is awful, I find. Amateurish commentators shouting into what sounds like a cheap microphone. Tough on the ears and of course, drowning out whatever crowd noise might be there.

Clubber have run away with themselves in recent times. Increasing their prices but not actually adding to the service.
Does anyone know are they a Kerry based company?
