He's managed Clare and Limerick at senior level. Was involved with the Kerry minors and managed Strand Road. Is that enough for you? what did he win with them? did they gain promotion in the national league during his time in charge... just because he managed a team doesnt qualify him for anything... i have no doubt he will give it all the energy he has.. im not questioning that You clearly are questioning it though... What exactly does "qualify" someone?

Crokes are like the Healy-Raes, their catchment has grown & grown so much that it now incorporates the whole county of Kerry

The back and amber chequebook has never had cobwebs Well if he's allowed to join 1 club in Killarney surely it can't be the Crokes, they're Senior Club & County League champions as it is. Wouldn't be healthy for competition making the strongest team even stronger. Surely Spa, Legion or maybe even Fossa would be more suitable destinations.

What exactly does "qualify" someone? no im not questioning the energy he will give to the role with Tomas.. im sure he and Tomas will do whatever it takes to put out the best team in the best shape etc.. what has Mark achieved as a coach/manager? Look at Jack O'Connor before he became Kerry manager for the 1st time back in the winter of 2003.. he won an all-ire with u21s in 1998.. was Kerry selector in 97 & 00.. had success with scoil ui chonaill 1st and then colaiste na sceilge... now he didnt win everything.. and the defeats at u21 by westmeath in 1999 and waterford in 03 were shocking.. but he had served his apprenticeship before getting the senior gig

Sorry meant to say 2025. Jason teaches in Miltown and lives in Killarney I’m reminded of what a trainer of mine said when he was trying to convince lads to travel from Tralee for midweek training “if you were on the Kerry panel, you’d have no problem traveling up the other way”

I'd be shocked if any established Kerry senior player, especially one in 1st 15, ever leaves their club.
It just doesn't happen. And it won't. I don't know Jason Foley but I'd bet alot of money he plays his entire career at his current club

Has anyone ever actually made it onto the Kerry panel by transferring clubs? Bar Shane Murphy as that was a bit different. There's more than enough opportunities for someone to show what they can do.

Kerry club in New York won the championship. Lot of lads who at one point or another looked like they could have made the break through at senior level with Kerry.

Saw bits of the team, Pa Warren was wing, Barry O'Mahoney was 6, James Walsh was 7, Liam Kearney at Midfield, Tarberts Killian Langen was corner forward - off the top of my head this is what I recall..

Link to "Main Site" has also disappeared.
I am in no way affiliated with the County Board, in case anyone is wondering.
I volunteered to delete spam mainly, plus try and keep things civil every now and then - fortunately things are relatively easy lately. Seems the kids don't bother signing up en masse to say how good their classmates are and should be on the Kerry minor team and so on. The "international" spammers have also eased up a bit.
As I am very interested in club football, I try to post fixtures/results and upcoming info as I find it...I'd be looking it up anyway and making note of it, so posting that info might help other posters.
I do recall the Board hiring a legal team of some sort a while back...could this be the start of something in that arena?
I'd like the site "owners" to issue some sort of clarification...if this site is now an independent supporters location and what sort of freedom/restrictions are in place.

The back and amber chequebook has never had cobwebs bit harsh, outside of Shane Murphy , all of the Crokes panel that won the club championship came through the underage ranks And Shane Murphy joining Crokes made sense, Kilcummin had Brendan Kealy and Murphy needed matches Alan O'Sullivan a few years back was from Tousist I think, other than that Crokes have had very few outsiders especially for a town team, it is understandable town teams will have some few outsiders. In many ways Crokes actually have had very few

If lads start transferring from junior clubs to senior clubs to get noticed well then what purpose is in the divisions at all?!

"Unofficial" is such a negative word, implying rejection and deliberate disconnection from, yet we are the passionate, immersed fans involved in a daily basis. "Independent" (as you used) would have been so much better, but ideally we should have a title like the "The 1975 Aspirants".

You're right about the CB hiring a legal team regarding social media etc It's clear in the last few years the CB don't like people questioning them about anything and we should all just accept everything they say.

Infairness they had to after the disgraceful carry on after the 2022 all ireland win. The slanderous stuff online was outrageous.

Jack obviously not liking the discussion on what 2025 will bring so he cracked the whip!! I wonder though might it be something to do with just lazy journalism, those scouring places like this for info for pieces and passing it off as their own or else dressing up what a poster says on here as some inside scoop? Is the new moniker an attempt to distance the official Kerry GAA from what's said here by us supporters because that stuff is going on??

The county board are dead right to make it clear that this forum does not operate under its authority. There is no upside in it for them.

If it does not operate under the authority of the CB then how did they get the the word "Unofficial" added? Posts of a certain type disappeared in the past. Anyway the past is the past. The emperor is wearing lovely clothes.

*Robbie Brennan.
Also it’s not a great choice from him as Meath seem to be a complete shambles at the moment and are miles away from beating Dublin
