So having won the Junior Premier Championship, Glenbeigh got thru to the Munster Junior Competition and were due to play the Waterford champions in the quarter-final. When the Waterford final ended in a draw, Glenbeigh were then given a walkover to the semi-final. Can anyone explain why the walkover happened? Was it simply because the Waterford teams ran out of time to complete their tournament? As far as I know that Waterford final was supposed to take place on the Saturday the day before they were due to play Glenbeigh, one of the clubs involved were also in a hurling final which hadn't been played either, bit of a joke any club is expected to play two chapionship matches in a weekend (not least after a county final) but it happens too often in some counties recently.

The waterford final ended in a draw therefore there was no time to play a replay, so Glenbeigh were given a walkover. I didnt get to the game yesterday but from what I hear Glenbeigh were always in control and now play the Cork champions in the Munster final. Exciting times for Glenbeigh
