There seems to be a big gap between many of the teams in the Junior Championship. Again, GG will be close but whether they have liathroidi to get over the line we will have to wait and see. Beaufort up and coming team and Annascaul to give this a right good rattle.

Draw Tarbert seem to be on the wane. Renard to sneak through Annuscaul easy Na Gaeil St Pats Beaufort easy Churchill in a tight one Ballydonoghue Firies

I'd fancy Emmets to win this outright. Glenbeigh and Annascaul would be next in that order and maybe Firies after a good showing last year could put a run together. Can't see past Emmets though.

Will this format be the same for the next few years? As in will all teams below intermediate be entered in the first round or is this a regrading for this year only.

Emmets have a population of 4k to pick which would be nearly the total of all of the other junior clubs combined. Hopefully they will kick on now and become a force at senior level. The only way is up.

They've been in the doldrums for a few years now, time for the sleeping giant to reawaken.

I feel some teams better off going into novice as junior so strong. As for Emmets. They look like they should be on the up however I think they will flatter to deceive. Any club that prioritise a NK c'ship over having a decent co league an c'ship is in trouble. Mary's, rathmore and others before put in big co lg and c'ship a before their div success. NK is the opposite. Maybe they'll prove me wrong. My predictions in a few weeks when we see how early co league goes.

Just to clarify: Do the winners of the Premier Junior or Junior go through to he Munster Junior Football Championship? Also, why was the whole format of the county championships changed from the previous system?

I think he is having an operation of some sort so I had heard - has had some injuries to his hammer over the last year or two - open to correction but this is what I have heard - big loss to Beaufort while he is out - really good player

My predictions (based off a little knowledge and my gut):
Finuge to beat Tousist Listry Listowel Emmets Dromid Pearses Ballymac Glenbeigh-Glencar Keel to beat Ballyduff St. Senans Tarbert Annascaul Na Gaeil St. Pats Beaufort Churchill Ballydonoghue Firies
Absolutely no idea who'll win ithe Premier Junior outright. Beale or Lispole to win the Junior.

Na gaeil certainly dark horse in this competition. A good young side that have had a few years trying to shape themselves. This could be their year after a flying start to county league. Then again, division 4 football is different to playing the likes of glenbeigh, listowel etc. It will be interesting to see how things pan out

Also I just spotted from the main site that there was 2 preliminary round games which Ballylongford and Kilgarvan gave walkovers. Are things that bad they couldn't field trans for a Championship game. I find this a little worrying if this is the case.

Yes, this certainly warrants a cause to worry. It's fair to say that some teams are struggling for numbers but to concede a championship round? Baffles the mind.

So it's nearly here and the weather has decided to make one feel that buzz about c'ship football (if it stays) anyway my predictions for the weekend. Finuge, ballymac Churchill Beaufort , castle Gregory , Firies, keel, g beigh/g car , na Gaeil , Renard , Bally donough, st pats, Listowel, Annaascaul, listry. Fossa (not a confident guess as dromid at home are really sticky). A draw fossa in replay. A winner (I'm going top 3 potential for now) Listowel, Ballydonoghue and glenbeigh/ glencar as they are div 1 and will be in the mix. I'm not putting € where my mouth is as I'm sure to get at least 4-6 wrong. That's the fun in such a tough c'ship.
