Team for munster final.
Tomás Mac an tSaoir (An Ghaeltacht) ; Danny O'Sullivan (Capt) (Kerins O'Rahillys), Barry Shanahan (Austin Stacks), Bryan Russell (Spa) ; Micheal Ó Sé (An Ghaeltacht), Paud Costello (Ballyduff), Brian O'Leary (Dr. Crokes) ; Johnny Buckley (Dr. Crokes), Ian Somers (Currow) ; Kevin Flynn (Laune Rangers), Eoin Kennedy (Asdee), JB Spillane (Castlegregory) ; Barry John Walsh (Kerins O'Rahillys), Patrick Curran (Moyvane), Jamie Doolan (Dr. Crokes)
Subs: Patrick O'Riordan (Gneeveguilla), Denis McElligott (Austin Stacks), Alan O'Donoghue (John Mitchels), Joseph Scully (Castlegregory), Adam O'Reilly (Spa), Timothy O'Sullivan (Beaufort), Tom Brosnan (Dingle), Cian Tobin (Spa), Mike Tim O'Sullivan (Tuosist)
Im not sure if Eoin Kennedy has the strength for centre forward.Very good footballer but he could find it hard if he comes up against a physical centre back.

You have to work twice as hard to make a county team if your from south kerry sure.....even the great mick dwyer had first had experince of that and its still happening 2day by the looks of things!

Jack O'Connor also claims that in his book. Although, Tuosist are represented on the subs bench and it's probably even harder for them to get a look in coming from the Kenmare district!

Jack had his opportunity in the past 3 years to pick all the South Kerry players he wanted. In the end South Kerry did well to have one guy on the team.

I think at senior level it's more likely that the best players are going to get picked irrespective of where they're from. However at minor level it's a lot harder for players from smaller clubs, weaker divisional sides or weaker schools to get a look in due to decreased exposure and lack of competitive games at the highest level. Also they have a relatively short time to prove their ability if they are called in for trials.

its some joke Paul Kennelly from ballydonoghue isnt on that team I know we have our own grievances in North Kerry with John Kennedy but how he can't pick james o donoghue from Legion is beyond me. its a bit obvious that he would threathen a certain players place on the team. And don't come back with "he is still underage next year" rubbish. Ive seen him playing three times this year and ive seen the minors play twice and only Paddy Curtin was the only one who looked better than O Donoghue

We a'll know what ur talkin about. O'Donoghue is a def starter in my book.

very poor performance, there are players on the team who shouldn have been there this year, yet alone last year...a total joke of a set up, twas embarassing. a major shake up is needed if they are to progress to the latter stages

they are too small....why are all our minor teams mostly consisting of small players? looks good when they get the ball, but getting it is the problem. cork had players who would fit in well to most senior teams, in terms of size......kerry had very few strong players. do they not pick players who would go through walls for you anymore at minor level?

One has to fell sorry for the players, some of them looked out of their depth. I have no pity for the management though. Brendan Dillon not on the panel either, a player that would have been ideal against a much bigger team

I think there will have to be a major shake up on the entire panel here, they just didnt look up to it yesterday and against limerick for the first game and three quarters aswell.

Even from over here I heard it was a disgrace that James O'Donoghue was not on the team, apparently he got brought in and then dropped again! I hear that a certain persons son's position would have been under threat!!!

Are ye a bit too negative on the minors? That was a strong Cork team, and granted it wasnt the greatest performance from our boys, they kept plugging away and were only killed off after Corks second goal.
For the 2nd quater and alot of the 2nd half, we outplayed them, if we just took our points maybe?
That said, minors are unpredictable. Also, how is O Donoghue from legion not on? after all, the papers were haviing wet dreams about him few weeks ago when legion were in Co. Championship?

People on here are definitely being too negative. I can see this minor team improving but , perhaps mopre importantly, theres a few guys there who'll play senior for Kerry yet. The snide comments about ' a certain persons son' really annoy me. Eoin Kennedy is an outstanding footballer with a great future. With a little more luck, he could have led them to victory on sunday. I really enjoy watching him and think he'll be a future senior corner forward. Barry Shanahan at full-back is another outstanding prospect and had a good game. JB Spillane is another who contributed hugely on sunday and I expect we'll see more of him in the qtr-final...probably at midfield with the Crokes lad whose name escapes me at present (Fogarthy?) moving to wing forward. Don't write this team off yet.
