Lad that goal by BJ walsh at the end was something else.. his first goal was very good aswell, but how he got the second one into the back of the net i dunno, with the goals lines with Cork defenders he managed to blast it into the top right corner... a goal any senior county player would be proud of!

couldn't agree more kerryman1...brilliant goal. First one was very well engineered also...a real talent although we seem to be coming down in corner forwards!

Joxer the crokes midfielder was Johnny Buckley.JB Spillane had a very good game alright the last day,as did Shanahan full back.Don't think the criticism of Eoin Kennedy is warranted, don't think its fair,he would be on this team regardless of who was the manager(wouldnt have him centre forward though, corner is the spot for him.

Thanks for that kerryeye, I knew he had played wing forward with the minors last year. Not a bad prospect either but not at midfield. Agree with you on Eoiun Kennedy at centre-forward...corner forward is definately his spot but they've chopped and changed to try and get the best combo and it may be that he'll have to play out of position this season. BJ Walsh is most suitable for full-forward line...I don't think he has the pace for further out the field but fantastic eye for a goal.

I don't think anyone is criticizing the player himself, I certainly wasn't, I was just commenting of the fact that another player, James O'Donoghue who deserved to be on that team and everyone seemed to be raving about wasn't and that I had heard this may have had an input on the decision.

JB Spillane impressed me. Eoin Kenendy is like Darren o Sullivan in style and is a great trier.
Patrick Curtin looks class.
Five of the Cork forwards are minor again next year!!

Curtin is a good player alright. Its about time that we had an All Ireland minor win not to mind an under 21 win. We need a crop of good players to replace the Dara's, Franny's, Seamo and Mike McCarthys.
Similarily we've lost a few squad players too we need quality replacements Fitzmaurice, Johhny Crowley, Hassett all big time players on there day.

I felt that kerry were trying to work for goals a bit too much on sunday instead of takin the simple points that could have kept them in contention. As well as that i feel Barry shanahan must be moved out to midfield if they want to compete ata all, buckley and somers just didnt perform on sunday. i know he is needed at full back but his aerial strength is much needed. kennedy should be back in the corner as well. james o donoghue and young kennelly from bally could be given a chance in a few challenge games?

In fairness to Ian Sommers he had very little football played due to a hamstring injury picked up playing for St Keirans. Never played that much in midfield for Currow anyway, always more of a wing back. Too many small players upfront. Anyone know what the minor quarter final draw is? Hard to see this team progressing much further.

Three of Kerry's Munster Minor Football Championship runners-up side have been thrown off the Kingdom panel after a bout of indiscipline.
The trio are alleged to have been involved in two separate incidents of public disorder in the early hours of the morning following the Munster final in Killarney at the start of the month.
Their departure was revealed to county delegates at a board meeting, when chairman Sean Walsh addressed the gathering.
"As a result of information received concerning an affray on the night/morning of July 1st/2nd 2007, three members have been excluded from the Kerry minor football panel," Walsh said in a statement to those in attendance.
"These incidents were not concerned with team matters or functions. They are civil matters for civil authorities and therefore no further statements will be issued by county board or team management until the matters has been concluded by the appropriate authorities."

Fair play to the County board. I heard about this incident last week and all involved should be ashamed of them selves. Lucky for the players involved this did not get to the papers. The players involved will be a big loss - but deserve their punishment.

All,
Not sure we should be discussing this here as I believe the Guards are involved.

I dunno lads, Wouldnt mind having a bet on this. The poor performance and slating of the players in the press as well as the carry on in kilarney by the 3 lads may galvanise the team. And being serious underdogs might join the team together. However it always intriques me about minors is how the team is selected, Players that are regarded as the best in munster wit school etc mighnt get a look in with kerry. Seems to be a lot of politics.

We beat a very strongly fancied Tyrone minor team the same weekend in the same venue in 2002 - mind you, apart from a one point win over Cork in the semi final that year we didn't do too bad in Munster.
