Another one ! What legendery Kerry footballer won a junior All-Ireland medal before he won a minor ? No taker on this one it looks like ! The answer is Dr. Sean Murphy of Camp, who of course was wing back on the team of the Millennium ! He won a Junior in 1949 and won a Minor the follwing year !

Yeah, I wonder if the bal landed near midfield as it'd be hard to accurately throw the ball in from a few hundred yards up in the air going 300mph.

Seeing the SFC is just around the corner, I'll pose a few related questions !
(1) What team have lost the most County Senior Football finals ?
(2) Who are the only team to score 3 goals in a County Senior football final and not win ?
(3) When was the last time that two teams from the same district board met each other in a county senior football final, and who were they ?

Has passed into legend! There ws some quality in both those teams. I'd be interested in seeing them if anyone could fin em and post them up. As far as I know, Shannon Rgs were comprised of only Beale & Ballylongford players aswell! some going.

Dublin played in 6 consecuitive finals '74 to '79 Wexford played in 7 if you consider the drawn final of '14 with Kerry. For some reason, the history of that Wexford run was beaten into my class in primary school at some stage.

Louth have won two All Ireland football titles. What was so special about the first? Kerry went on strike and Louth got handed the game.

Louth have won two All Ireland football titles. What was so special about the first? You'll find that Louth have actually won 3 All-Irelands ! Their most recent coming in 1957, with the 'Merry Ploughboy' musician, Dermot O' Brien as their captain !

Whats the co-incidence between the 1969 AI ffotball-winning team and the 2006 winners? - In both years , the best Gaelic Footballer of the previous 30 years came out of retirement to help his team win the All-Ireland? (I hope it's this one) - The All-Ireland was put forward a week because of golf competition? - Maybe Galway win the All-Ireland and when Sean Armstrong wins Man Of The Match he copies what his namesake said in 1969 when saying "It's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".

(3) When was the last time that two teams from the same district board met each other in a county senior football final, and who were they ? I'll give ye the answers to these three ! (1) Feale Rgs. - They've lost about 8 finals in the space of 40 years. 2 or 3 of these have been after replays and the most of the defeats were by very narrow margins ! (2) St. Brendans - The Brendans scored 3 goals in the famous 'Bull Dozing' county final of 1957, but it was'nt enough, as the great Strand Road team of that era edged them out. Both teams only finished with about 12 players each, in a game which has now been accorded legendary status ! (3) Shannon Rgs. V Feale Rgs. (1977) - (As Shannonsider pointed out) - Shannon Rgs. took the spoils in this Northern Derby. The game was delayed for ages, so that the huge crowd could get into the stadium !

Louth won the 1910 All Ireland because Kerry had an issue with the train company who ran the Killarney to Dublin train and refused to travel as a result!
