Threw it away. Should have been out the gate at half time. We definely have the talent to beat this Roscommon team though, roll on the replay

Couldn't agree more Tom. Having said that, it was a magnificant match - and for those of you who saw it on the box, John Kennedy was brilliantly spoken after the match.
Future Kerry manager?

Potentially yes. Cracking game and in the end no team deserved to lose but like the senior game the first half lead should have been embarassing.

Rossies defence was outstanding (once they got the right players on the pitch). Gladly take the draw there - it was Roscommons for the taking.
Tommy Walsh had outstanding fielding but needs to be careful who he passes to after catching a ball 50 ft off the ground.
One more thing: I don't like complaining about refs as its a bit of a "morganism", but Syl Doyle was atrocious yesterday. To wrap it up, that should have been a free out for blatent pushing at the end. He calls a 45. Eejit.

I have to agree with you Kerryman. I thought the ref was giving everything to Ros in the second half.
But I think Kerry were both lucky (that their goalie f***ed up to gift a point to Paddy) and unlucky (to concede a point at the end after a farcical decdision to give them a 45)
Walsh was great and I thought David Moran looks like he has all the makings of a superb player over the next 10 - 15 years.

Its amazing that 6 months ago we were looking at a senior team going into transition:
I think Paddy Reidy, Darren O Sullivan, Killian Young, Star, Gooch, Sheehan, Declan, Tommy Walsh, David Moran, Paddy Curran, Eoin Kennedy etc... might have something to say about that.

ya,i thought both fefs were poor to be honest.
the minors had enough chances to have that game won by half time
they were unluck not to win it and and were also lucy not to lose it at the end.
thats a good ross minor team,i think kerry will win the replay.
there talking about the 1st of october for the replay,i wonder will they play it as the curtain raiser to the laidies final in croker like the u21 hurling final.

Replay in Ennis on Sat next at 3.00 RnaG. Will we need tickets? How many does Ennis hold?

Will be no need to get tickets in advance. it takes 15 - 20000 I'd say, maybe a few more. I wouldn't expect there to be more than 15,000 at it.

You'll get a fair belt of people from North Kerry going along across the ferry.
Ennis holds 15,000 - I've never seen it full. Parking around there is a pain in the rear as the shopping centre next door has a car park which is far too small for the business it does.
Putting the match on Saturday is nuts in Ennis - but if things go well, you'll be guaranteed a mighty session in Ennis on Saturday night.

I'd say you'll have in or around 10,000 from Ros there though. They'll be well up for it after playing so well yesterday

Limerick's way closer to Kerry. D'you know call me a snivelling traitor but I was nearly a bit relieved that Ros equalised; I just couldn't wish such a horrific way to lose on a bunch of kids like that. Is that heresy or can anyone see where I'm coming from (it's not Boyle or Castlerea, by the way, though living the last two years in Sligeach might've softened me)?

Agree completely Kerryman...I thought Syl Doyle pulled Roscommon back into the game before half-time almost singlehandedly..and his antics at the end for the 45 were ridiculous. Anyway good performance..Paddy Curran outstanding as was Tommy Walsh, Eoin Kennedy,David Moran, Johnny Buckleyand Adrian Greaney but in truth all played very well. Daniel O'Shea should have shot for gol early on but other than that, good game and I think we'll take them in the replay...especially as Roscommon are mouthing on about having shown Kerry too much respect!

I thought Keenan and Shine had good games for Roscommon. Funnily enough John Kennedy came across far better than Fergal O'Donnell in the post TV interview and had the right attitude to it all.

"especially as Roscommon are mouthing on about having shown Kerry too much respect"
There is no mouthing in Roscommon Joxer. What was meant was that the players maybe were a bit in awe of Kerry and the occassion and were slow in getting going. Certainly after Ros made a few changes then from then to the finish it was a 50/50 game. We in Ros are delighted with the way our team played but there is no mouthing or anything like that. As for the ref I think he did a fair job maybe made a few mistakes but these evened out over the game. As for the 50 if you look at the replay you will see that the 2 Ros players were very careful not to foul and forced the Kerry player out. I think if it happened the other way around you would be praising your 2 players for such good play. It was a great final between 2 evenly matched teams with some great individual performances and played in a good spirit. Lets hope the same for the replay and may the best team win.

The poor Ros goalie was in tears after the match, a comical howler that even had the Kerry support showing sympathy. Rumour has it Paddy Curran has a cracked cheek bone. Any news on this???

A fhód Mhóna - I agree with you - It was a clean good game. By the way heard on Rna G that Shine's Mother is a Kerry woman and I think her father played for Kerry! (Not taking anything away from Ross!

some unreal scores by both teams, and some great performances. the roscommon fans behind me really annoyed the sh**e out of me, they gave a running commentary on the game and the abuse that they gave their own players was disgraceful. im not so sure that the replay will be as straight forward as some people make out, ros looked very hungry and have a never say die attitude, very good team.

Great game...prob the best minor final ive ever seen between two v.gud sides!! tommy walsh got some brilliant ball but his tracking back left a bit to be desired with shine kicking 2 or 3 great pts from midfield. paddy curran was awesome..kicked some unbelievable scores!! shane enright was brialliant at half back mwking some great runs forward and setting up vital scores,as was adrian greaney in the centre. think browne should get the nod ahead of russell in the corner, play well wen he came on. johnny buckley was v.quiet and witrh pa curtin coming on and scoring a pt even thiugh he misd a great goal opportunity he may well start the replay!! roscommon will have a huge following so we need to get down to ennis sat n shout on the lads!!

roscommon will have a huge following so we need to get down to ennis sat n shout on the lads!! i have a feeling that we will be out numbered about 5 to 1 next saturday, with an attendance of around 7,000 to 8,000. hopefully that will not be the case, the minors have been outstanding this year and its vital that they are supported.

Kerry rely heavily on Curran, I'd say they were sweating bullets when he had to goto the doc. I think Kerry missed their chance, the wide Croker pitch suited their forwards. Roscommon will find it easier to close down Curran and the likes in Ennis. They also know now to keep the ball away from the big lump in the middle, what you do with lads that big is, you make them chase the ball till they get worn out. We used the tactic against Chriost Ri before, when they had two big lumps hammering us, both their midfielders ended up being replaced during the game. anyway, as long as it is a good match !.
