I still think that Maloney should be moved out as he would be excellent at half back picking up breaks and moving forward with the ball.
Greaney is excellent centre back and has bee all year.
Browne is a ready made replacement in the full back position and is a very good player.
I think Daithi O Se and Russell would hold their own against most forwards.
For me O'Driscoll in midfield has been more impressive than Walsh but Walsh brings a certain range of skills no other has and his passing and ability to distribute with both feet has been a huge asset.
Moran has been one of the most impressive minors I've seen in a while.
I was very disappointed with Paddy Curran at centre forward against Mayo in Ennis. He was selfish on the ball and tried to do too much - I suppose you get more disappointed about players who you know have so much class. That class made him a minor 3 years in a row and he gave an exhibition in full forward play in Croke park. He was absolutely outstanding. The forwards in the Mayo Laois game that day could have learned a lot from him.
I think we have enough class to win it and hopefully we do.

FatTom.....If you were to move mike moloney out into the half back line and bring in browne, who would you drop from the half back line?? couldnt take greaney out of the centre coz he wudnt do anywhere else and is playind well there, cant drop shane enright, playd v.well against donegal and is having great year overall and brian costello has also settled in well to the half back line and is playing good football at the moment!! half back line has been kerry's strongest line all year and think it would be foolish switching it around now, aldo i do also believe that moloney is wasted somewhat at full back but putting him in at midfield for the munster final didnt work so looks like he'l have to stay at full back.Thought he was v.solid against donegal the last day anyway!!

He is. I think Browne is better than both Enright and Costello but as you say both have done very well. Moving him midfield and putting Walsh centre forward could be an option too but as you say that didn't work against Tipp. Still think team won't change bar injuries but do believe Maloney is more suited out the pitch.

I think Walsh is vital to this team. He just prevents the opposition from winning any clean ball at all in the middle of the field which puts them on the back foot straight away. As well as that Moran, Odriscoll and Greaney are all good in the air which gives us a great platform.

I wouldn't agree with you on that fat tom! Browne isn't better than those boys, however I would agree that moloney is a fine footballer and would excell further out the field ,however, I believe he is also the best full back in the minors! So it's a 6 in 1 situation!

I wouldn't agree with you there either FatTom that Browne is better than both Enright and Costello. I think both these lasds are playing great football this year. However Moloney probably is better suited to playing further out the field but when he was tried there against Tipp it didn't really work out for him. However saying that Moloney is a very good full back as he proved against Donegal where he was one of Kerry's better players along with Curran, Moran, Enright O'Se and Greaney.

I also would not agree with you tom. Enright and Costello have been very strong all year. Shane Enright has been huge in every game as has Costello. Their work rate is well documented.

I have to disagree with you also Big Tom...in relation to enright and costello AND maloney. I think Browne is a better full-back than maloney. I haven't seen anything yet from maloney in a Kerry jersey that makes me think hes as good as you say...and whatever about full-back, I definitely wouldn't have him further out the field...he was centre-back against mayo last year and I remember screaming at him more than once to move his a***...very slow to react (not to my 'encouragement' but to the play!).

He was outstandind in his last 2 outings as a kerry minor. He was their best player against Mayo and was very good against Donegal too. Out of interest, were you at either game?
He is very solid on the ball and has a good football brain which is why I would move him out. Browne, I agree, is a more natural full back.

I wouldn't agree with u joxer on maloney! He is very solid n maybe u've a valid point in that he was centre back against mayo last year n was poor but this year is full back and has been excellent! Maloney is definitly a better full back than Browne! To be fair joxer if u were at the mayo and donegal games u would be lying if u said maloney wasn't up to it.

I have to agree with kitbag there I thought maloney was very good in both games, without him in Ennis I think kerry would have been in trouble. I cant remember him even dropping the ball that day, he got a pile of clean possesion and his distribution was very good.

'Out of interest' Fat Tom, I was at both games you mention. I'm not saying hes not a good footballer, I'm just saying there are better....maybe the fact that I'm not from Killarney prevents me from having your perspective on all things Killarney!

No. Thats not it at all. I agree he had been playing poor but he was outstanding in his last 2 outings for Kerry. We'll agree to disagree.

Yes,FT, We'll have to agree to disagree. As you'd say yourself, 'as a matter of interest', were you at the last two games yourself?

Lads isn't great that we have made the final. Great credit due to the squad and the management.
I have onle seen them in the flesh against Donegal but they looked good especially the half-back line in the fiorst half.
For me O'Driscoll, Kennedy, Curran and Moran were very good.
Regarding the full back, I have to say that I thought he was a bit slow at times in the second half and he misjudged a few balls but that may be being a bit overcritical, although my gut instinct at the time made me worry about him as a full back.

JOhnny Buckley is in for Paddy Curtin. Only change to the team from the semi final win. Best of luck to all involved. I really think they can do it.

I can't see this minor team losing it at this stage. They've improved steadily during the year and anything near a repeat of the Donegal display and we'll do it. Ciarrai Abu!

Just make sure we're all in on time to cheer them (assuming you have the ticket by then)

Id just like to wish the minors all the best on sunday. i hope everyone will be there on time and not traipsing in after 25 minutes, for theres many of these who'll one day grace the senior final and seen as everyone's making the effort to go up we might as well not "stay for one last pint" and miss half the minor match.
