I would very much doubt it, The lad hasn't kicked a ball all summer and his form has been poor.. Hope that doesn't come back to haunt me. Feck that lads. Don't be tempting fate. Donal Ó Sullivan could be the jewel in the crown! Very True, He's an unbelievable talent.. Hope Kerry doesn't reignite that talent tomorrow.

Ciarrai Abu Dublin really has become a cesspit since Covid! It was always an ugly city but now its such a dirty, smelly and increasingly dangerous one too. I'll say it before and I'll say it again what in God's name are tourists still doing coming to it in droves, a pint is now over €7 in any city centre pub and you can't even get a starter for under €10 anymore! Didn't even bother checking hotel prices but I'd be astounded if you could find anything for under €200 for the one night.

Never normally go into the city for GAA matches and prefer to loop around on the M50 and come in via Ballymun in past Glasnevin cemetery. It might not be a nice thing to say but, the whole city is just grubby. Even O'Connell street it's main thoroughfare is fairly rough. Drugs being consumed and sold openly. And that's before you factor in the extortionate prices. I think the last time I was in and around O'Connell street on the day of a Kerry match was the 2014 All Ireland Final and that was only to handover a ticket to some fella that stayed in the pub after all to watch the game. A friend of mine lived in Dublin with his family until 4 years ago when his little girl (who must have been 3 at the time) was spat upon by a group of lads on the luas on a Sunday afternoon. Said he made up his mind to get out after that.

Social issues and the blatant open use of drugs around OConnell Street and the boardwalk is shocking. The stuff I used to see around the custom house would shock you. Having said that, Around Grafton St, South William Street, St Stephens Green, Lower Baggot Street are all great places to socialise although not a GAA stronghold. The one place that disappoints me is around Croke Park itself. It's so run down and depressing.

Just a few thoughts ahead of the game… - This will have to be a patient performance. - We will have to outsmart Tyrone for once. - Wingbacks and wing forwards must be ready for the breaks on kick outs. Jack and Diarmuid should be our two main targets with Dara, Adrian, Murphy and, White all ready to retrieve loose balls. - We will have to support Paudie Clifford. Conor Meyler has done a great job on him recently and we will have to make sure that this doesn’t happen again to the extent it has. Paudie is our 2nd most important player in my opinion, and is the glue of the team. Having him marked out of it would be fiercely detrimental. - It cannot just be David Clifford who supplies our scores, other corner forwards like Geaney and Moynihan will have to show including Sean O’Shea. Killian Spillane is a huge loss for scores off the bench. - Finally, I can see Foley taking McCurry, Tom taking Darragh Canavan, and for Ruairi Canavan? Graham? Hard to know. Tyrone’s forward threats are incredibly worrying. Been worried for this since Saturday night, two nights before the draw, I knew we were getting Tyrone! Hard to be confident to be honest, with the mediocre year we’ve had. Here’s hoping my pessimism is proven wrong, up the Kingdom. Kerrys spread of scorers so far in championship has been really poor apart from Louth game. Against Mayo only 4 players scored compared to 8 or 9 for Mayo. Need guys like Diarmaid O' Connor, Moynihan, A. Spillane and even the wing backs to contribute to scores as well. I was listenting to the OTB football pod this morning and Tommy Rooney mentioned that Kerry jad not got any scores off the bench since the Tipp game. That is a worry going into this game as well. Tactically, I wonder will Kerry try to play David Clifford a little further from goal at periods. He kicked 2 points in a row against Louth from out around the 45 that no other player would get. He might be able to get a little more space outside and Tyrone might still be looking to double mark him which in turn would create more space inside for other players.

Safe travels to all heading up tomorrow.
A windy day forecast so that could make kicking troublesome. It means teams will have to work the ball closer to goals and we might not see the fine long-range kicking witnessed vs. Louth this time.
Tyrone will probably "manage the clock" better when playing into the wind than we will.
Our bench isn't contributing much to the scoring this year so we need to manage Seanie properly during the game. I would like to see his time inside in the FF line extended slightly, might also occupy an extra man screening him.
I don't think we'll see much in the line of long kickouts and expect both teams to mostly concede the kickout. Tyrone put in a bit shift only last week on the press, it would be hard to do that again this week and they'd hope to draw Kerry in and turn them over.
It's obvious but this game will hinge on turnovers, conversion rate and clock management when playing into the wind.
We can't turn over ball and risk giving up goals (Tyrone prob need a goal or 2 to win). We can't put in massive effort getting an opening to waste it with snatched efforts and we need to be cute and have an aul lie down from time to time if under pressure or to manage clock when facing the wind.
This won't be pretty, could be low scoring and experience needs to show in our performance at this point in Kerry's development as a team.
(this post was brought to you by prematch nerves)
Enjoy the day everyone. Be safe.

Kerry need to be streetwise themselves re game management.

Conn Kilpatrick is an Intergalactic Warfare Beast I don't think we realise his physical strength complemented with his tiger like aggression. This Guy is no joke in my opinion third best midfielder in the country after Mcdaid and Brendan Rodgers, hes a freak of nature confident and good looking. With all the attention on Darragh Cannavn I hope we give this man the respect he deserves. Jack Barry would be the best match in my opinion a proven spoiler evident in his battles with Brian Fenton who plays for Dublin seniors.

One thing I would disagree on is the kick out - I would expect Tyrone to target our midfield in the belief that we often struggle there - think it’s paramount that we break the ball around the middle with half backs & forwards on their toes for the breaks.

This is where your wrong , where was this so called “beast” last year and the start of this year when they needed him no where to be found another run around merchant looking for the easy pass and receive. What is wrong with us kerry people making out opposition players to be so called jack o sheas of this era and as for jack barry marking him u would want to seriously take a look at yourself if u think jack o Conner is gonna sacrifice one of our biggest threats in the attacking 3rd to man mark conn killpatrick are u serious? Tyrones midfield is arguably the best out there. Absolutely no exaggeration to say that that's our main area of concern.

Agreed. Our MF was cleaned out by Mayo, my fear is this will happen again. Tyrone prob have the 2nd strongest MF line in the country at the moment and certainly the best of any team we have played this year. My feeling is a tight game that will ultimately be won or lost in the middle towards the end

Some posters seem worried about the wind. Croke Park is SW to NE and the wind will be from the hogan towards the Cusack. It will be difficult for both sides in both halves.

Lads the wind up here is savage, If its like this tomorrow it'll have a big impact. Sure of course there s a wind up going on there. I mean saying Jack Barry is a threat going forward is surely a joke. Jack is a defensive midfielder and his real claim to fame is getting the better of Brian Fenton every time they meet. He has Fentons number a d can have other good dags but he won't be hurting the scoreboard but that's OK too. I don't think I said that 🤣🤣

I saw some posts flow in and straight away thought about that national forum that shall not be mentioned. 😂
The big worry is our midfield and our defence being overrun. Their midfield is better, their inside forwards are clinical. Add to that the fact our structure this year isnt working when it comes to stopping goal chances and protecting the back line, it could be a tall order to turn that around by Saturday.
I was full sure we would beat them in ‘21 and look what happened there so hopefully I’m wrong again.

Well Jack O Connor has the opportunity to bury the Tyrone bogey team tomorrow and take another step to achieving back to back titles .Jack is a shrewd manager and very conservative hope his loyalty to 2014 winners Geaney and Murphy don’t come back to bite but we will surely see Brosanan and Begley/Breen in the action as replacements very quickly if they are struggling with the high intensity of this game .The defence needs to step up to the plate tomorrow and I think if Tom O Sullivan Foley and Graham o sullivan contain their opponents we should get enough scores to secure victory and take a giant step to retaining the title

Would love to see Barry Dan being picked at no.15 but moving out to the half forward line/ midfield and driving forward. In the league he did show that quality.

Tyrone being Tyrone won’t come empty handed so I’m sure Jack will will have plenty of gifts to reciprocate . He knows the score and his record should relax the nerves - ours .
The wind in Croke Park will probably affect both teams equally so let’s hope no controversial decision or a glut of time wasting decides the game .
We haven’t clicked yet - with respect to Louth they were not a test - so tomorrow’s opposition should will light our fire .
Good luck to our warriors and Safe travel to all .

Growing up on the Dublin Meath border, Dublin city was our "town". I never had any issues or fears as a kid, teenager or young mother walking around town and using public transport. With the development of the big out of town shopping complexes like Blanchardstown my trips to Dublin have been limited to visiting people in the Mater or to steward in Croke Park in the last 15 years or so. I've had occasion to visit the city with hubby twice recently on hospital visits and I really didn't like it ( barely recognised it). Constant begging from down and outs and drug addicts, open drug use, it's sad to see what it has been reduced to. I used to Luas after my train journey to Portlaoise for the Louth match and was super paranoid about my phone and bag. Those of you who know me will know I'm no shrinking violet but as a 50 something female I am considerably more guarded in my movements in Dublin than at home or indeed Tralee,Galway or Killarney.
On the point of Tyrone and Dark Arts , I often think our lads are "too nice", which seems ironic as it's what makes them who they are but I always loved the way Peter Crowley played with an edge and see some of that in Adrian Spillane.
Safe travels to all coming from near & far, sometimes the short journeys can be as dangerous as the long ones. Ciarraí abú.
