Last weeks games looked like it took a lot out of Cork and Tyrone so I wonder will it impact Mayo. Monaghan on the other hand we’re still going at the end of ET so who knows. Ya, Dublin for me. With a bit to spare

Cheers. I think calling the team 'bullies' in a general sense was a bit off the mark. If anything Tyrone have been oddly subdued since winning the All-Ireland in 2021 before the manner of last week's win over Donegal gave us a bit of hope again. I've attached what I thought was a nice picture from yesterday, I think on the whole there is respect between the teams. Anyway we're not the story today so good luck with the rest of the campaign. McKernan is usually the only Tyrone player I would find objectionable. Meyler might do a bit of tike wasting and exaggerating injuries but that's about it. Not sure who started the war of words between himself and Paudie, but I wouldn't be surprised if our lads were under instructions to get their retaliation in first this time around.

Ugly brawl on Hill 16 yesterday between Armagh and Monaghan fans. It’s horrible to see this creeping in to Gaa. Mighty display from Kerry, they gave a masterclass in passing and kick passing. Was Paudie singled out for special attention .?

Was Paudie elbowed in the head in the club AI v a Tyrone team. Stewartstown I think?. Perhaps he was still mad over it. Anyway Fair play Tyroneperson for your contribution today. Incidentally Mark O Se referred to the rivalry between players yesterday and how , off the field, they could get along. To Kerry, fantastic performance yesterday embellished with a moment of genius from the great one.Our Summer filled with promise again. Let's enjoy it.

What a weekend, what a result! Before the match, I suggested Kerry to beat Tyrone must match the aggression, be absolutely fearless and fight likes dogs for the breaks. They did it all in spades! This was a hugely satisfying victory for Kerry. We unleashed the dogs of war and along with the Kerry footballing craft. Congratulations to the players and Kerry management, and good luck for the semi-final lads.

Talked with a Tyrone man yesterday and he said the sledging & roaring in opponents faces doesn't help one bit. Like all tactics opponents soon counteract them. Seeing 8 Tyrone players surrounding one Kerry player in the tunnel is pathetic to say the least.

I don’t think a few pleasant words from one or two supporters exonerates Tyrone. The abject mentality of players from Tyrone is the worst in the country. It continues year after year, from having Colm Cooper stretched out getting medical attention for five minutes after an off the ball incident, the water bottles incident, the Covid incident, a few All-Ireland club incidents, especially the one against Fossa. I could go on. This mentality is embedded in Tyrone “football”. There was a person at the game in my group that went especially to see DC and could not believe the way he was treated. Luckily David produced what was probably the best pass ever executed in Croke Park and the hitmen could do nothing about it. It was great to see that, after kicking David knowing he has unhinged the defence, keeps watching the ball to see how the score is finished.

Maybe already said but two sensational hand passes from Tony Brosnan for the goals, especially the second which literally was millimeter perfect.

David Clifford's magic moment brings to mind that old adage - "Talent hits a target no one else can hit; genius hits a target no one else can see".

Coming back from semi-retirement. Was at the match. First time in HQ since the 2019 replay and a much better experience! So proud of all our team meeting this challenge head on and swatting it aside. More challenges ahead maybe even tougher but we can look ahead without fearing anyone. Tyrone have been formidable opponents in the past but I personally found it a bit disappointing that they had to resort to so much off the ball and underhand stuff. They are much better than that and hopefully will have learned a valuable lesson. Too much focus on the “dark arts” cost them important frees in the early stages. Remember the game was drawn at 5-5 and 6-6 before we broke away. Now I know that “everyone is doing it “ and “we’re no angels ourselves” but on a practical matter, what was the point of carrying on with that carry on when the game was long gone from them? The best punishment for that behaviour is through the scoreboard and that’s what happened.

Cruel but it will be interesting to see how the player rating comparisons pan out, bearing in mind the diminishing 'man on man' aspect of game and which takes a new meaning with pack hunting. Someone suggested that a camera should be following DC all day, just to put the intensive care in perspective. Ah we'll give as good as we get though we'll need to be forensically in tune with the ref. See my famous last words - now do the sums! Figures from the Indo hereunder. Those who were there might have Foley at more that the 7 he gets, ah jazus David at 7 - say no more, suffice as to say I'd like to know how much silverware in Colm Keys' dresser! Kerry: S Ryan 7; G O’Sullivan 8, J Foley 7, T O’Sullivan 8; P Murphy 7, T Morley 7, G White 7; D O’Connor 9, J Barry 8; D Moynihan 7, S O’Shea 8, A Spillane 7; P Clifford 7, D Clifford 7, P Geaney 7. Subs: S O’Brien 7 for Spillane (51); T Brosnan 7 for Geaney (51); B Ó Beaglaoich 6 for White (57); M Burns 6 for Moynihan (59); M Breen 6 for Foley 64).

The best punishment for that behaviour is through the scoreboard and that’s what happened. Welcome back! The “ dark arts” get worse as the final whistle nears & confirms your exit - probably a bit if “ if I can’t play in the next round, neither will you”! It happens at all levels & some are more prone to it than others. As you say, we will fear no one now & if we overcome Derry will be ready for Dublin/Monaghan. The monkey is off the back now regards Dublin - Kerry have taken them on & beaten them & have the medals to prove it - think this is a huge psychological advantage- the sight of the Dubs previously was worth a few points to Dublin esp the big games in Croke Park - Kerry lads now know how to beat them & will take huge confidence into a final should that occur. I have said it previously- whatever about the players, think we have a management team comparable to anyone - just look at Sat & the difference to ‘21! Paddy Tally has been a massive addition to the line - often referred to as a defence coach , he is so much more than that - have spoken to some of the panel & he is praised as much by the forwards as the defenders. Hats off to Jack for bringing him on board. Micheál & Diarmuid are both serious operators too.

Tyrone resorted to the off the ball stuff because (A) That's there default setting and (B) They were getting their backsides handed to them.
They are universally disliked and that made Saturday extremely satisfying.

I think when Tyrone do something wrong it tends to be magnified a bit - it's in their 'nature' type of comments. I think the current Armagh team are quite a bit 'bolder' than us for example.

The foundations of the victory were built on the midfield and defence, and I include the keeper in this, none of whom should have scored less than an 8. Foley did an exceptional "number" on DMc and did not give him a sniff. Paul Murphy was fantastic in the second half, turning on a six pence on two different occasions that sent two incoming Tyrone players for fish and chips! Ryan was as cool as a cucumber throughout, marshalling all in front of him, finding his man on short kicks and breaking up the field as necessary. I do however agree with the 7 for David Clifford, even with his moment of brilliance and even with his drawing the defenders to him. He snatched at a few too many low percentage efforts when he should have recycled. In many ways, winning without David hitting the ridiculous heights he often hits was also very welcome.

You see its a question of perspective. At what level is your tolerance? For example I thought there was a huge amount of what I will call "deliberate physicality" off the ball on Saturday only to be shown another incident on the Sunday game, a deliberate assault on Graham O'Sullivan, one that if it happened on O'Connell St would result in a period of imprisonment. Have you any comment on that incident? It is time to hold the mirror in front of the nose.

This is something I've wondered about in the past in relation to Pat Spillane when his 2 nephews were on the field. It led to great TV moments after Killians goal in 2019 and the memories of his father after last years All-Ireland but could he be trusted to analyse a game coldly and impartially when family are involved? I didn't see this but I read on twitter that Canavan was actually giving his sons a hard time after the Donegal game over a shot selection. This almost seems like over correcting which is as bad as being one-eyed in relation to family memebers involved .

Have you any comment on that incident? It is time to hold the mirror in front of the nose. Yeah of course, Darren McCurry should've been sent off. I just meant I'm not sure we're significantly worse than most of the big teams out there - there were a lot of incidents involving Dublin during the Jim Gavin era etc - Philly McMahon gouging Donaghy, John Small, Johnny Cooper etc. During the noughties both Kerry and Tyrone players were cited for a number of well-documented incidents etc. That's all. If people think Tyrone are the worst of the lot, that's fine really. Sure maybe we have produced more aggressive players than most though I think the big teams generally have a few dogs of war, if you want to call it that. I think with Tyrone, you have to remember we'd not won a single All-Ireland in our history prior to 2003. We'd been humiliated in big games against Meath and Sligo in 1996 and 2002 respectively. Maybe there was a bit of over-compensation. I remember some Tyrone player of the noughties saying that they felt Kerry were basically 'better' than them and possibly that contributed to the mad intensity of the 2003 performance. They said they harboured those same feelings even in 2005 and 2008, that Kerry were 'better'. I don't know really. I just think some of the comments here suggesting that it's somehow in our 'nature' is pushing it. Generally Tyrone wouldn't be a crime-ridden place for example. I do think there's some people out there who see Tyrone as a bit 'scummy' when they probably have never set foot in the place. In saying that generally my experience with Kerry fans on match day has been a very positive one down the years though. They remind me a bit of Kilkenny and Tipperary hurling supporters - they don't get too carried away, outwardly at least. If they win they win and if they lose they lose. That's just been my personal experience throughout the years and maybe it's different back home in the Kingdom after a big loss, the post mortems etc. All told Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher are decent people and I don't think anyone will look back on their three-year tenure as one riddled with incidents of a thuggish nature. I think you also have to remember we're all biased in our own ways. I was beside a Tyrone lad on Saturday giving out about Paudie Clifford! As if he was the guilty party in his personal running battle with Conor Meyler. Regardless of who 'started' things, isn't it good you have a player like Paudie Clifford that'll give absolutely everything for the cause? Same with Galvin back in the day. Teams need a few players like that as long as they don't cross the line entirely, and generally they don't whether they're in a Kerry jersey or a Tyrone jersey. Obviously there are exceptions and they should be dealt with by the disciplinary bodies. For what it's worth I think this is a 'clean' Kerry team but I think Tyrone aren't especially bad either and have been involved in significantly fewer incidents than the Tyrone team of the noughties.

You are deflecting, first it was Armagh then Dublin. Last year Kerins O'Rahillys played Kilmacud in the All-Ireland club semi final. It was a great game of football. I can think of 3 times ( and there are probably more) when clubs from Kerry played Tyrone clubs and the football was secondary to the physical battle resulting in injuries, red cards, suspensions, fines and embarrassing headlines for fellas who just wanted to play football. It is endemic in Tyrone football.
