I’d go with
1. Shane Ryan 2. Graham O’Sullivan 3. Jason Foley 4. Tom O’Sullivan 5. Brian O’Beaglaoich 6. Tadhg Morley 7. Gavin White 8. Mike Breen 9. Barry Dan O’Sullivan 10. Adrian Spillane 11. Paudie Clifford 12. Stephen O’Brien 13. David Clifford 14. Sean O’Shea 15. Paul Geaney
Killian Spillane, Ronan Buckley, Dara Moynihan, Diarmuid O’Connor, Paul Murphy, Donal O’Sullivan and Cillian Burke options off the bench.

Most worrying for me last week was the lack of changes from the sideline. This was my fear with Jack coming back - he has struggled in the past to change things up in the middle of a game.
Apart from that...
Madness to put our rookie (Dylan) on the other teams main target man - what were they thinking. Surely Graham was the best physically equipped to deal with AOS. Mayo must have been thrilled with this decision alone.
Lack of physical presence - Tom S, Dara, Paudi, Tony B and Paul when he came on. All fine footballers in their own way, but cant have this many lads against the most physical team out there. Again poor judgement by the sideline. Mike Breen is a tank - he has to be in there for this type of challenge.
Midfield - Barry Dan was our best midfielder in the games / part games that he played in the league. We were cleaned out there from the word go on Saturday - Ruane absolutely loves playing against Kerry at this stage.
Seanie - to me he looks like a guy carrying an injury that has not healed fully and is limiting his ability to go flat out - similar to Tommy Walsh in the last few years. I think a rest is warranted - his confidence is down, as can be seen by his taking frees from the hand.
Subs - a couple of lads in the subs now a long time - need to bring newer lads in - again Jack has form here from his previous stints.
Having said all that, I think we still have the players to go very close this year. Confidence seems to be down at the present, but a win against a tough team in preliminary QF in Killarney may be the antidote.
For what its worth, here is my team ....bit more physicality and pace
Ryan Graham, Jason, Tom Mike B Tadgh Gavin Barry Dan, Cillian B Adrian Paudi Ruari Stephen David Paul G
Adrian to drop to midfield, Stephen out to wing, leaving the 2 lads inside
Subs - Brian O B (needs game time), Ronan B (for Barry Dan or Killian), Killian for Paul G, Paul M (usually fantastic coming on in second half when things open up), Donal D (very direct, take lads on) for Stephen, Jack B, Diarmuid, Seanie

The mood hasn't lifted for me anyway.
Normally I'm a glass half full person but there is an air of inevitability for me this year.
I can't get past the fact that we have arguably the 5th best midfield of the all ireland contenders.
Personally I'd prefer seeing Jack make a raft of changes and what will be will be.
Leaving lads in jerseys they do not warrant or deserve is not the right thing to do after Sat.
Apologies in advance I know this is a very negative post.

Jack wasn't slow to act in the All Ireland Final.
Kerry really missed Darragh Sé when he retired. I hope it won't be the same story now with David Moran.

If Cork beat Mayo and Mayo beat Louth, Mayo will end up with four points. We can end up with 4 points max That is a tie so Mayo will get top spot because of beating us on the head to head

Can’t see it coming to this anyway but it could apply in other groups.

(Provided Louth are beaten in all 3 games) All unlikely however, we should just focus for now on Cork and what Jack will do to change things. Whether that is a change of personnel, tactics or even both. Will make this game a lot more interesting as without doubt Jack needs to go back to the drawing board. A team is defined by how they cope with setbacks and challenges. Kerry need now to prove their Champion status by showing how they can overcome this setback or else be rightly considered a flash in the pan if they can't find a way to adapt.

I cannot shake the lack of performance overall and a real sense that some already have their boots filled from last season. You can talk all the talk you want but actions ultimately speaks louder and the evidence has been around all season. Hand on heart and regardless of the result against Cork, I'd rather lose trying something new than repeating the same act and losing anyway. I'm huge fan of Jack but he is at heart a conservative but now is the time for courage and being bold. PS: My admiration for David Clifford only grows, what a leader, what a man, others around him down tools and pointing hands but he puts in another colossal performance. An incredible player.

I couldn't agree more about David and Paidi, Two boys that have just lost their mam yet they stood up for Kerry on Saturday. They must have had a really difficult few weeks but they showed the men they are and you can be sure their mam is smiling down on them. If we are taken out in a QF I really sincerely hope the two boys are given a summer away from the glare of football and let them have some time to themselves.

Is there any merit to the theory that Kerry had tapered off the sharpness training for more endurance or block stamina training after the Munster Final.
I find it hard to believe that 12 of the starting 15 were that far off the pace last Saturday..

Barry Dan in midfield or else full forward with D Clifford & P Geaney feeding off him. A Spillane has to start in midfield. S o Shea dropped with T Brosnan & D Moynihan. Jack needs a new game plan this year, our game has been found out from last year. J Barry is a sub at best.

I'd be slow enough to drop Seanie for two reasons. 1.We all know Seanie is a class footballer and sometimes dropping a player can do more damage than good re confidence. 2.We need a top class free taker on board. Seanie has been poor in a lot of games since 2019, if he has a confidence issue then he is holding back the team, his free-taking is his forte but I think D Clifford can take on that aspect of our game. He is being turned over a lot and doesn't have the pace to track his opponent. His mobility is also a worry, maybe try him at full forward and if he doesn't improve then he has to be dropped for the teams sake.

Seanie is restricted at the moment, all frees are now being taken off the hands with only the 45's getting the ground treatment, that for me indicates a groin knock of sorts.
Mayo wiped us in midfield but I don't recall any high fielding but they did break the tackle and punch holes in us.
Do we pick a player beside Diarmuid not from the traditional mid fielder ilk, a baller more comfortable on the ground, a runner but with vision?
I had huge admiration for the Dublin pairing of Shane Ryan and Ciaran Whelan... something along these lines is what I'm alluding to.

You ré talking about a good man to pick up breaking ball I take it and a runner. Shane Ryan was a good fielder too though. Would Gavin White be a good man midfield and bring back in Ó Beallaioch and Mike Breen in half back line. CiarraiMick, I’m actually more and more thinking along the lines of a second centre back, what we need is a defensive midfielder, to sit in front of Tadgh, a man comfortable as a centre back, who will sit between the 45 and the D, when Tadgh drops back deeper to cover our full backline. But also comfortable on the ball, has the intelligence to look for the short ball and has the vision and capability to ping the pass, as well as go for the return. For that reason , I’d be reinstalling Brión O’Beagleoich and actually trying Mike Breen with Diarmuid. He is a natural centre back and has all the attributes I feel required for the position. I actually see Mike Breen, in similar cast to Jack Sherwood, he was very much underrated as well and prone to injury, but when called upon, never let the side down.

For a lot of the Mayo scores we had 12 players in defense and we still couldn't stop them getting easy points and goal chances. A defensive midfielder on his own wasn't going to stop them.

For a lot of the Mayo scores we had 12 players in defense and we still couldn't stop them getting easy points and goal chances. A defensive midfielder on his own wasn't going to stop them. Midfield was the primary malfunction, however, the entire team tackling lacked intensity, similar, we had no ball sharpness, this attribute was present in Limerick, the lack of sharpness was evident in how sloppy we were retaining the ball, passing and from dead ball situations, our unopposed turnover count was too high for the time of year, I genuinely feel we tapered off last two weeks in this regard for a block of training, Regardless, a shake up of sorts is required, the down side is no alternative was trailed during the league.

There was a complete lack of intensity from our side when Mayo were in possession. We stood off Mayo and let them pick their pass. Adrian Spillane, Barry Dan O’Sullivan and Stephen O’Brien would all bring the intensity, aggression and doggedness required. I would start all 3, Ronan Buckley would do similarly which is why I’d view him as a good option from the bench.

Cork team for weekend game v Louth, I am not overly impressed, hard to see where the scores will come from, looks like the starting team will be defensive, if that is the starting 15.
Micheál Aodh Martin (Nemo Rangers) Maurice Shanley (Clonakilty) Daniel O’Mahony (Knocknagree) Tommy Walsh (Kanturk) Luke Fahy (Ballincollig) Sean Meehan (Kiskeam) Matty Taylor (Mallow) Colm O’Callaghan (Éire Óg) Ian Maguire (St Finbarr’s) Brian O’Driscoll (Tadhg Mac Carthaigh) Ruairí Deane (Bantry Blues) Killian O’Hanlon (Kilshannig) Sean Powter (Douglas) Brian Hurley (Castlehaven) Captain Chris Óg Jones (Uibh Laoire) Patrick Doyle (Knocknagree) Kevin O’Donovan (Nemo Rangers) Tom Clancy (Clonakilty) Cian Kiely (Ballincollig) Paul Walsh (Kanturk) Eoghan McSweeney (Knocknagree) Blake Murphy (St Vincents) John O’Rourke (Carbery Rangers) Mark Cronin (Nemo Rangers) Steven Sherlock (St Finbarr’s) Conor Corbett (Clyda Rovers)

Long time listener, first time caller. Thank God for Saturday. We know exactly where we're at now and where we need to get to. Caught cold like that too many times coming out of Munster, without a second chance. Luckily we have that second chance now. Learnings. 1. Intensity is way off. Should be easily rectified. 2. Without Moran, we must play a 3 man midfield. Adrian Spillane is the best man here. 3. Need Begley back in half back line and GOS back into fill back line asap. 4. Midfield was overrun but not just 8/9s fault. We were overrun throughout. If JB doesn't up his game significantly soon, I'd look at trying BOS in his place. Still wouldn't write JB off yet. Saturday was a systems failure. 5. Half forward line needs surgery. I'd have Adrian, Paudie and O Brien. Need to push O Brien in now and carry him if needed. Need up to speed for 6 weeks time. 6. Seanie hasn't got going at all yet. Need to move him to top of the D with PG and DC inside. 7. It's not the end of the road for anyone. Just like Kilkian seems to be better from the bench, maybe Dara and Tony. 8. Dylan Casey will come food, early days yet. He was hung out to dry last week. 9. Hopefully Ruairi will grow game by game and give us something fresh by the time we get to Croke Park. Here's my team along with the finishers in their positions. Need workhorses early doors and the finisher's to come on when it has all opened up a bit. 1. Ryan 2. GOS - Casey 3. Foley 4. Tom 5. White 6. Morley - Breen 7. Beaglaoich - Murphy 8. Diarmuid 9. Jack - Barry Dan 10. Adrian - Ruairi 11. Paudie 12. O Brien - Dara 13. Seanie 14. The Cliff 15. Geaney - Tony/Killian That's a good post. I'd agree with all that I'd definitely have Adrian Spillane on the field

Seldom post these days but, I can't understand those saying we may be in the middle of heavy training as a reason for our abject performance. Getting tactics wrong for a specific game could be a mistake or arrogance. Not have having the team ready for a game that they have known about for a long time smack of incompetence. Neither great to be honest.
Our middle 8 as welectrr.

At training this morning another parent said to me sure Kerry have been poor all year.
Nail on the head,
Last Saturday shouldn't have surprised anyone it's been like this since the start of the league.
Why should we expect it to change in 2 weeks.

The main ingredient missing this year is hunger. Without it come last of form. Felt it returned against Clare but it disappeared again save for the few individuals, most notably David Clifford. 90% of sport is between the ears, they need to sort this out quickly. Normally the hungriest team wins unless there is a large gulf in class. Take look back at Mayo/Roscommon, Mayo didn’t want to know.

Cork dug out the win today, never panicked, used their bench well, might have come at a cost with injuries to Meehan, powter and Hurley.
They be happy tonight by the Lee.

Its a good result for Kerry too imo as we beat Louth now we qualify. Not necessarily, if Louth and Cork beat Mayo and Cork beat Kerry we could be knocked out on points difference even if Kerry beat Louth.

Now the fat is in the fire even more for next Saturday. Already Cork are in the lead - they have actual points on the board and psychologically this is a great cushion ahead of playing a Kerry team under massive pressure to get a win. The sense of destiny around Kerry from last season is gone and there is no fear factor with them - make no mistake - Cork will fancy it. The discussion very soon could easily be about who were worse defending champions, Tyrone in 2022 or Kerry in 2023? Kerry need to remind the country they are worthy All Ireland Champions and it starts next Saturday evening by going into the Rebel den and getting a win.

havent posted in a while bit concur with the posters who are arguing for a freshen up
not a big one but * it let Barry Dan, Ruairi Murphy , Donal Down and a few like that have more of a cut off it
new starters send energy through a team, we hadnt that v Mayo. Looked stale
