The GAA showed just how little they care about 'player welfare' by having that game go ahead in those conditions. Also no respect for supporters, as usual, dragging them needlessly to an empty stadium when Killarney or Mallow could have hosted the game. I hope in vain that someone in the Kerry County Board might raise this dangerous farce at provincial level but of course they won't. In fairness to the Munster Council, an offer was made to both clubs to toss for Tralee or Pairc Ui Chaoimh. The clubs turned down this offer. Fair enough, that part is on the Clubs so. Can't understand the mentality of refusing a toss for the venue, but there you go. But going ahead with the match in those conditions was ridiculous in the extreme.

The match could easily have been re-scheduled for next weekend.

Dingle will be sick if they watch that one back. Threw it away in both normal time, extra time and penalties. Tough one to take. Having Paul Geaney way out the field having no effect on the game when playing with gale in 1st half was an atrocious call by their management. Paul kicked 1 good score in extra time but Aodán MacGearailt giving him MOM was a fright to God. He was nowhere near his best and fairly poor. Dingle picked up a good few knocks during the game, Tom O’Sullivan most notably but they were very naive in their lack of game management at stages and Mark Collins, Damien & Conor Cahalane and Cathal Maguire showed a lot of doggedness and experience to keep Castlehaven in it. Absolutely, now look in fairness fatigue and the weather played their part too, but it was criminal that last play from Dingle in normal time. A point ahead, they turn the ball over, Castlehaven goalie scrambling back and three Dingle lads on the counter and what do they do, pass it into the sideline. Castlehaven thank their lucky stars and work it up the pitch until a silly foul allows for the equaliser. Same in extra time, they had a 2 point cushion with only a minute or two to go and contrived to let the Cork boys level it up. Threw it away in my opinion during the game itself. I wouldn't blame anyone for the penalties. Firstly I've always been against the idea of a GAA match being settled by them instead of something more attuned to the skills of our sport like a free taking competition. Secondly expecting players to take spot kicks in that monsoon and gale is just farcical. Can only imagine the feeling in that dressing room after, at serious risk of mass pneumonia and not even a cup to show for it!

It's the first GAA match I'm aware of that the winners never led at any point in the match.
Maybe Dingle lost on purpose as they knew if they won they'd have gotten relegated to Intermediate! Or maybe that would only have happened if Na Gaeil were in it 😀

Dingle will be very disappointed with this loss.Conditions were terrible for both teams but unfortunately we can expect these conditions when games are played in December. The poor game management by Dingle in normal and extra time cost them in the end similar to the loss v East Kerry in last year county championship semi final .The penalties at the end were a lottery and I do feel a replay would have been a fairer way of separating these very even teams .
