Neither Eoin McEvoy or Lachlan Murray were allowed play for the Derry u20s by Rory Gallagher in the Ulster final last Wednesday so they would be available for the Senior semi final today. Fair enough McEvoy played the whole game today in the number 3 jersey but Murray was only brought on in the 71st minute. I think that’s absolutely disgraceful from Rory Gallagher. How must that young lad feel after missing out on being his teams key man in an Ulster final just for a token appearance from the bench. Not only that but Gallagher has possibly cost all Murray’s team mates an Ulster title. I don’t agree with the rule but still that’s ridiculous carry on from Gallagher. Thats gallagher for you not excatly one of the most likeable figures in the gaa maybe so, but do Derry want an U20 or a serious stab at the All Ireland?. Gallagher may not be endearing but like him or loath him, he is a blinkered winner. I am a Jimmy McGuinness fan, but the Donegal win in 2012 was as much Rory as Jimmy, I do think there is a chip on the shoulder in this regard.

I still recall sitting in front of him watching his antics on the sideline in Tralee during an unusually hot and heavy League match in 2016? God be with the days of having a Padi prowling the sideline to give him the shoulder into the fence he deserved!

Looking forward to seeing Robert Monahan tomorrow and Luke Crowley. Strong team. Ya, same as, Luke Crowley, gave us a serious option as a target man, but for a big man he can move. Serious unit and with the right ball could be a game changer.

Looks like Clifford will play on the “40” leaving Crowley & Shine inside in a two man ff line - McMahon to play deep, effectively @10 & Monahan helping out in midfield - Sligo are very strong @ midfield. A good team.

Hopefully defense has improved a lot since last 2 games. Forwards bailed out the defense v Clare. Poor finishing by the Cork players bailed them out the last day. I trust Donie Buckley, Seamus Moynihan and Tomás Ó Sé and co will have made some improvements. Best of luck lads, they're a fantastic footballing side. Would be great to get to another u20 AI final. 15 years is way too long.

Kerry are 2/5 on with the bookies to win today …they rarely get it that wrong ..fully expect Kerry to win today with my prediction that they will play Kildare in the final good south Kerry representation today ..with two starters a sub and Brian Sheehan in the management best of luck all

Maurice Horan, former Limerick manager is the coach , Pat Flanagan S & C - not sure if Donie B has had any involvement.

Sligo have not scored a goal in their 3 games. Most of the Sligo team is made up of the team that won their first Connacht minor title in 53 years in 2021 which means most are underage again next year.

Poor half from Kerry. Too slow bringing the ball into the attack and Sligo getting the bodies back. Poor game overall. Surely there's an improvement for the 2nd half.

Kerry are the better team here hard to fathom how it's level at HT.
Ref is giving Sligo a lot of calls.
That last lockout looked like a pick up off the ground to me for example.
Kerry need to really go at these lads in the second half.

A real opportunity lost for this team.
Couldn't break them down.
Very disappointing.

Kerry got what they deserved. They tried to beat Sligo at their own game and were beaten. We played into Sligos hands. Referee was very quick to give Sligo decisions compared to Kerry. He made 2 big calls that changed the game. The harsh overcarrying for Burkes disallowed goal and the red card to our number 2.

Some very poor shot selections and the ref was very biased i understand the underdog thing but jesus it was very obvious. I wouldnt blame management really we has loads of chances to win.

Absolutely blew that - 4/5 wides when well on top @ start of 2nd half. Awful play from the forwards.

Yeah, a ridiculous dive but you just knew that ref was going to give it.

In all the Kerry games at this level this year one thing that stuck me was how poor the actual standard looked. No surprise here that Kerry badly wilted in the second half against a limited but game enough Sligo team. I expect the winner of this competition ultimately to come from the other semi and probably win the final in a cantar.

Standard was poor in fairness. Massed defence, sucking up pressure but breaking at pace, dreadful shot selection and execution and some questionable refereeing calls. A script previously written and read about Kerry championship exits.
Cillian Burke comfortably Kerrys best player.

Overall the game was there to be won and Kerry could not execute. Some very poor shot selection throughout the second half by Kerry. Don’t think management can take much slack for the defeat, I was surprised to see certain players play the full game with their continuous poor shot selection. Sligo must have had a very high percentage on there own Kickout don’t recall them losing too many which is always a great platform for any team.

I thought Andrew Moynihan was having a solid game prior to him getting injured.

RM made some poor decisions with shots in 2nd half - again, its about being patient against a massed defence and working the high percentage chance.....

You'd have thought the Clare game would have frightened them enough to prepare properly. Very disappointing stuff but a deserved result. I think we can comfortably say that Fergal or Marc will have a higher bar to reach looking for any management job with Kerry.
