Rewatched today and looked innocuous, no collision but looked like a pull Yeah that's my take on it too. If it was a contact injury it might be be ok but I fear it's more serious. The poor lad is very unlucky with injuries. Don't think it was from a contact. Looked like he just twisted it - maybe studs caught in the turf.

Must say guys, I'm slightly disappointed the GAA have the neck to charge €90 for a single match. No curtain raiser of any sort being provided which is wrong. What will happen is 90% of the full crowd will all arrive between 3pm-3.30pm because there is no other reason to arrive early for. Terrible by the GAA. Wrong decision not to have any sort of match preceeding the big game

Never known ticket's for an All Ireland Final to go on general sale. The condensed season has had a knock on effect too. 2 games in Dublin in a calendar month is a big ask for most.

I got a hill ticket on ticketmaster for general sale for Kilkenny v Tipperary a free years back. I bought a Nally and was sent a Hill 🤷♂️ The neutrals must have seen enough of their finals.

A few All-Irelands involving Kilkenny have seen tickets go on sale in Ticketmaster. If Mayo had gotten to this year's final I reckon they wouldn't have sold out their allocation.

In my experience and opinion most Kerry people know well that Galway provide a ferocious challenge. I am under no allusions about what Kerry face.

Who is in third place?

Have only watched back some bits of the Dublin game and have yet to see it in it's entirety. I feel I am missing something to be honest. I don't think it was a great match and both teams played OK if not spectacular. I get the hype about the occasion and the drama at then end.
The positives of the match were the defence and goalkeeper. Our midfield and half forward line were poor enough bar Seanie in the first half. Would exempt Jack Barry as he did a lot of dropping back etc.
Worryingly from a Kerry point of view, Seanie went out of it in the second half for a long spell, ditto Clifford. Geaney and SOB were never in it to go out of it. Paudie had a great spell for about 20 mins in the second half when the rest of the forwards seemed to be floundering. Dara M did well when he came on.
White would be a big loss in terms of physicality in the HB line. The makeup of the midfield and half forward line will result in a lot of head cratching for Jack and co over the next week and a bit.
I don't think DOC has ever played well has a wing forward for Kerry. Hopefully the 2 weeks will bring DC on a bit. I hope the fadeout the last day was fitness related. Then again he wont the final ball when it was there to be won.

I often think a sign of a great match is when there are lots of errors due to tension, nerves, pressure, expectation, desperation as players fight like drowning men to survive. Some lads hide and some lads stand up. I know that sitting on the canal end as Shane Ryan stood over that last kickout, i felt that i was witnessing a unique sporting moment and occasion. One error by either side would be calamitous. That error strewn game between Armagh and Galway was another great match as was the Munster hurling final. In other words.. .. "The tension and the anxiety of the whole lot of them" to quote Micheal oHehir in his commentary in the 1977 semi final between Dublin and Kerry. Fortunately Sundays game went our way.

Easy play free flowing football in the league and rack up big scores this was white heat championship fare. Defending is half the game and both teams did that fairly well which limited chances some of the scores were top notch mcarthys point both goals nearly all of DCs scores. It was reminiscent of 2011 rather than 2013 vs dublin if you get me where the result trumped everything id rather win like that then lose a classic as we have in the past vs tyrone and dublin. 2011 was a lower quality game than sunday in all honesty only remarkable thing about that game was last 5 minutes really and that dublin won AI for first time in 16 years and beat kerry in first time in 30 plus

My sincere hope is that the lads are left well alone now and all precautions are taken to prevent anyone contracting Covid.
I know lads have to earn a living but I hope lads like Paul in the bar in Dingle take a few days away from the public because Covid really is the elephant in the room for me.

Shure if a few get Covid (hopefully they won't obviously) couldn't we just ask for the match to be put back a few weeks. Don't know if there's a precedent for this 🤔🤔

JOHN FOGARTY
Kerry will give every chance to Gavin White to prove his fitness for the All-Ireland final against Galway on Sunday week, but manager Jack O’Connor is pessimistic about his chances.
The Dr Crokes man had to be helped off towards the end of normal time in Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final after twisting his knee trying to retrieve the ball.
O’Connor said: “We’re just waiting for a report on the scan. You’d have to rate him as doubtful at the minute, which is disappointing for him. The nature of the injury, it’s knee related.”
Kerry trained last night and were down “three or four players” because of non-significant injuries sustained on Sunday. “We’re just hoping they’ll settle down,” added the manager.
“The elephant in the room is Covid. We’re just hoping it doesn’t spread into the camp because it’s just something out of your control and that’s every manager’s nightmare.”

Don't think Paul is the proper replacement. I think we need someone with more power as Galway have tall players.

If Gavin White is out we are threadbare at the back. I would be more inclined to start Gavin Crowley than Paul Murphy at wing back.
I'd guess Pa Warren or Stefan would be in the running to come into the pubs. Could Stefan do a job at wing back during a disjointed last 10 or 15 minutes is something Jack will be thinking about.

Stefan will do well to be in the 26. The lad has never played competitive senior football. For me it's Gavin Crowley and Paul Murphy to come off the bench. Dan O Donoghue may be in with a shout of the 26.

Reading between the lines, it looks like Gavin White is extremely doubtful the way he pulled up. I hope I'm wrong though.
For me Murphy has to be kept in reserve so I'd be starting Gavin Crowley with the Rathmore man to come in as required.
No offense but the notion of Stefan getting a starting role is mind boggling, the Man has played 30 odd minutes at McGrath Cup level against McGrath Cup opposition, he'll be very lucky to make the 26 if even that.
I think Adrain and Moynihan are the only realistic changes from the semi final.
As the the costings, yes €90 Is steep for one game on offer but the county board will have the audacity to lump on another €10 per ticket as easy targets for their coffers... a family of four will be set back an additional €40 which would go a long wsy to fuelling the car for the trip... that's my primary gripe

Key too is yo avoid last minute injuries and covid, look at Limerick Cian Lynch does his ankle and out of Sunday's finsl, Aaron Gillane has Covid and will be just out of isolation by Sunday.. but what level of fitness and energy will be there.

Crowley in for White of the Crokes man doesn’t make it, I hope he does but it’s fair to say it’s not looking good for him, very unfortunate for him personally and a blow to Kerry.
That’s probably the only change I’d make personally, stick with the winning team and try to build on that momentum from a hard fought win against the Dubs. Hopefully we don’t have a Covid issue as others have said.
Galway will be loving the underdog tag, plenty of dressing room wall material and an opportunity to build an ‘us against the world’ mentality. They are a well organised and dangerous opponent that cannot be underestimated. Kerry should go in with no fear but they need to get their matchups right and not make any stupid mistakes.
If Kerry can keep Comer relatively contained I like our chances. He is a game-winner that can rattle the net and dramatically alter the trajectory of a game without warning. Somebody mentioned the likely matchup with Foley, this is absolutely huge for us and will be Jason’s biggest test after a fine year. Many have been critical of him over the years but I always had a feeling he would come good and he has turned in to a very very good full back, albeit I think our improved overall defensive organisation has benefited him greatly.
Galway will be thinking the same about DC no doubt, keeping him in check will be the key to their success.

To beat Kerry now, opponents will need to be well able to kick long range points. Dublin dont have that in their game anymore. McCarthys effort excepted. Dublin only got one shot at Shane Ryan. I dont think Mayo got any. Kerry were caught for the breakaway goal but it was an exceptional finish. Kerry have stopped giving lots of 'baby frees' away within scoring range. So by stopping the concession of poor goals and more disciplined defending Kerry are harder to beat. Galway do have the ability to kick points from distance though as they showed by Armagh. They are better than Dublin in that facet now. I'm not so sure about your last point Mick. Galway had some poor wides on Saturday. Of their 4 points from play, only one was from distance - Daly. Shane Walsh scored one point from play in 180 minutes against Armagh and Derry. Finnerty is accurate if given space but doesn't like to be tightly marked as he was last weekend and in Connacht against Mayo. Comer is the man to stop. Tierney can score from distance at centre forward. We will need to keep a tight rein on Conroy and McDaid as they can score from midfield. I think that it's the other half of the field where Kerry have the big advantage. Galway are ok at 3 and 6 but I'm not sure that Glynn, McHugh and Molloy are up to this level defensively. Roscommon took Galway for 1-20 in the league final. Add to the that their struggles under the high ball and the goalkeeper issue. Kerry also have a much stronger bench. Joyce always seems to go to O'Laoi as his first sub. He is regarded by many as an average club forward in Galway. I think the Armagh game showed that Joyce does not trust his bench as he did not make a sub until the 69th minute. He will need to use the bench against Kerry as the game intensity will be much higher. I just want to respond to the points made by clarinman above and by whiteheat below I am writing this having had a close look at the Galway v Armagh game. Firstly, Galway kick the ball a lot more than Dublin do now. In many ways that was Dublins undoing as the transition was too slow apart from that time for the goal and even that was all handpassing. This allowed Kerry to have their defense organised. Galway will mix it up and kick quick ball into forwards as well as playing it around the edges to probe for the opening. So our defense will face a different challenge from Galway than v Dublin. I agree with clarinan that McHugh and McHugh may struggle defensively. Mplloy is tenacious but can be rash in the tackle. I think the point made by whiteheat about the Galway keeper could be very significant. Maybe it was adrenalin but he lamped his first 3 kickouts well beyond his Galway midfielders and Armagh got their first 2 points from these. He found his man with short ones reasonably often. However when he elected to go long it really was a raffle and 50;50 at best. He didnt look commanding in the square under the high dropping ball either. In short, he is not Cluxton and i have no doubt that Kerry will be testing his pulse early and often. Armagh didnt press up on his kickout often enough. Paul Conroy seems to be an inspirational type of player for Galway and he came into it and made vital catches when the fat was in the fire and this rouses his team mates. Jason is going to have his hands full with Comer. High or low it doesnt matter to Comer. He will track back into defense too so will Jason follow him? Finnerty will score points all day long if given a yard of space. He seems adept and creating that vital yard of space so his marker will have to stick to him like glue. I think he can be managed if he is tightly marked. Shane Walsh is capable of miraculous scores and reminds me of Michael Donnellan. Another man that needs close attention. McDaid at midfield stepped up vital scores and is an underrated player for them. Galway won all 4 throw ins in that match - at the start, start of the second half and again during extra time. Given that we conceded 1.01 in the 2008 final and 2019 replay from throw ins it would be important to have a plan for Galway in this regard. I am based in Galway for a number of years now and have watched alot of these players in club action over the years. What they have achieved this year has taken me by surprise. The goalkeeping situation is one which most people here cant get their head around. For most he is not even third choice. He will surely be targeted and This will certainly cost them in the final

They have probably seen him play a max of 2 football games in the last 3/4 years, he isn’t making the panel a lot of the time and he has never played senior championship for Kerry. Utter lunacy or sheer stupi..ty - I can’t decide, the next person to suggest it should be forced to report on cork club football for the next 5 years

we are a little bit shy on defensive cover now for sure - 3 defenders on the bench the last day Paul, Crowley and Jack O Shea who hasnt really played - one of them playing means only 2 are left on the bench if White is out.
youd imagine if he is out, then it will be either Dan O Donoghue or Stefan to step into the 26 but theyve not been game tested either.

Joe may have gotten the nod based on his performance against Mayo when he came on. He carried well and set up SOS for a point straight after coming on.
